Two Wisconsin legends to be first pair of brothers on Wheaties cereal box

JJ and TJ Watt are set to make some history

Yes, you read that headline correctly. Welcome to mid-July, where the only thing truly happening in the college football world is recruiting (and the situation at Northwestern).

Now, we get news that Wisconsin legends J.J. and T.J. Watt will be the first pair of brothers on the cover of the Wheaties box.

Being the athlete on the box of the popular cereal has been a big deal forever. The group includes Lou Gehrig, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Ken Griffey Jr., Barry Bonds, David Ortiz and so many others.

That group will now include a pair of brothers, and a pair of former Badgers, for the first time.

“Built around a uniting love for football, the Watt family is grounded in perseverance, togetherness and a commitment to doing the right thing when it matters most, while serving communities in their lives outside of football,” Wheaties said in a news release to USA TODAY. “That’s what being a Wheaties Champion is all about, and one of the many reasons we’re so proud to feature J.J. and T.J. on the cover of this limited-edition box.”

The news comes with T.J. entering his seventh NFL season, already having made the Pro Bowl in five of his first six campaigns. J.J., meanwhile, recently retired from the NFL and is set to appear on CBS’ NFL coverage this fall.

Wheaties’ release noted the limited-edition boxes will be available in July nationwide.

LeBron James and ‘I Promise’ students to grace front of Wheaties box

Wheaties announced on Wednesday that LeBron James and his I Promise students will be on the front of Wheaties boxes.

While LeBron James is now only one win away from his 4th NBA Championship and his third title with a different franchise, there’s one team that always is on his mind that isn’t in the NBA: this I Promise school family at the I Promise school in Akron, Ohio. LeBron and the students from his school will be in grocery stores across the nation as they will be the latest to grace a Wheaties box.

Wheaties, the iconic cereal brand that always puts athletes on the front of the box, will feature LeBron James and the students from the I Promise school on the box as well.

James was up on campus, showing off the new Wheaties box from inside the NBA Bubble as well after a late night on Tuesday, knocking off the Miami Heat in a grueling Game 4 win. LeBron James and the Lakers are up 3-1 in the NBA Finals, with a potential closeout game scheduled for Friday.
