- West Virginia is looking to bounce back from an 85-80 upset loss at home against Florida in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge Saturday. The Mountaineers won and covered the spread in each of their past two on the road.
- Iowa State got spanked in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, losing 95-56 at Mississippi State as the Over (135.5) easily connected. I-State enters on a five-game skid, and it has lost nine of its last 10 overall. The Cyclones are also 0-3 ATS in their last three games, and they’re 3-8 ATS on the season.
- These teams met in Morgantown Dec. 18, and the Mountaineers picked up a 70-65 win as 14.5-point favorites as the Under (140) cashed. Iowa State was covering for the entire game.

West Virginia 87, Iowa State 62
Money line (ML)
West Virginia (-800) is easily the better team here, and Iowa State has been god awful lately. Remember, the Cyclones played the Mountaineers tough in Morgantown earlier this season, so it’s just not worth risking eight times your potential return. PASS, and look to the spread instead.
Against the spread (ATS)
WEST VIRGINIA -11.5 (-110) was taken to the mat by Iowa State back in December, and you can forget about that. The Cyclones have lost five in a row, including three straight by 21 or more points.
They have also allowed 88.7 points per game during that ugly stretch. ISU looks like it has thrown in the towel. Take advantage.
Over/Under (O/U)
OVER 145.5 (-110) is the way to go, as the Cyclones have been a turnstile on defense in recent games. West Virginia doesn’t really pile up the points, averaging just 75.7 points per game, but it is averaging 84.0 PPG across its past two.
It’s a good time for the Mountaineers to start hitting their stride offensively.
