UFC on ESPN 12: Mike Perry vs. Mickey Gall odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 12 fight between Mike Perry and Mickey Gall, with MMA betting odds, picks, tips and bets.

[jwplayer V5jyIoVm]

Mike Perry and Mickey Gall tangle in a welterweight bout on the main card at UFC on ESPN 12 – also known as UFC Fight Night 174 – Saturday at the UFC’s APEX Facility in Las Vegas. The prelims kick off at 5 p.m. ET, followed by the main card set for 8 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+.

Perry (13-6) heads into this one looking to pick himself up and dust himself off after being dropped in his last fight, a Round 1 loss to Geoff Neal Dec. 14, 2019 at UFC 245. In fact, Perry is on a two-fight skid and is 2-5 over his past seven fights, so he could use a signature win. Five of the past eight have ended up going the distance, with Perry on the short end in three of those bouts. His specialty is the knockout, and four of his six victories at the UFC level have come via KO/TKO.

Gall (6-2) doesn’t have a long fight history as a pro, but most of it has been very good. In seven fights at the UFC level, he has recorded five victories, with four wins by submission. He is 5-0 as a professional via submission, too. Gall has never won a fight by KO/TKO, although he was knocked out by Diego Sanchez at UFC 235 (March 2, 2019). Only two of Gall’s fights have been decided by the judges, with one a unanimous decision victory over Salim Touahri Aug. 3, 2019 on the UFC Fight Night: Covington vs. Lawler card.

Mike Perry vs. Mickey Gall betting odds

Perry (-313) is just too expensive on the 2-way line, especially considering he is just 2-5 across his past seven bouts. Still, he has fought an impressive array of fighters, and Gall (+250) is a drop in quality of an opponent. In fact, if Perry can avoid Gall’s unorthodox methods and just brawl, avoiding him on the mat, Perry will cruise to the win. Still, Perry is a bit of an enigma, and betting him straight up by laying more than three times your potential return is a bit worrisome. AVOID.

PERRY TO WIN BY KO/TKO, DQ or SUBMISSION (-164) is a little more palatable, although you still have to munch on some considerable chalk. Get specific for values, namely by betting rounds. Look for the fight to FINISH IN ROUND 2 (+300), so you can turn a tidy profit if that comes into fruition. PERRY TO WIN BY KO/TKO/DQ IN ROUND 2 (+500) is worth a roll of the dice, too. I’d AVOID the total number of rounds bet here, but if you must, UNDER 2.5 rounds (-264) should be the play.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on Perry (-313) would bet a profit of only $3.19. A $10 wager on Perry to win by KO/TKO, DQ or Submission (-164) nets a profit of $6.10. A $10 play on Perry to win by KO/TKO/DQ in Round (+500) would fetch a nice return of $50 profit.

UFC on ESPN 11: Belal Muhammad vs. Lyman Good odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 11 fight between Belal Muhammad and Lyman Good, with MMA betting odds, picks, tips and bets.

[jwplayer 4MmTjNiy]

Belal Muhammad and Lyman Good will battle in a welterweight bout on the main card at UFC on ESPN 11 – also known as UFC Fight Night 173 – Saturday at the UFC’s APEX Facility in Las Vegas. The prelims kick off at 5 p.m. ET, followed by the main card set for 8 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+.

Muhammad (16-3) dumped Takashi Sato by submission at UFC 242 in his most recent showing Sept. 7, 2019, giving him back-to-back victories and six wins in his past seven matches. The submission was a rarity, however, as six of those previous seven fights went the distance. He is strong on the mat, ranking seventh in bottom position time at 3:12. Good (21-5) is even better, ranking second in the division with a 0:40 bottom position time, and 1.68 bottom position percentage.

Good will be looking to throw hands early and often, posting 5.32 strikes landed per minute – he is third in the division with a 1.86 striking differential. Good is tremendous at avoiding the big blows, too, posting a 67.4 significant strike-defense percentage, second in the division. He has alternated wins and losses in his five fights at the UFC level, with four of the bouts ending inside the distance, including a KO/TKO Round 3 win at UFC 244 over Chance Rencountre last time out on Nov. 2, 2019.

Belal Muhammad vs. Lyman Good betting odds

GOOD (+105) is worth a small-unit play against Muhammad (-125) in what should be a fairly entertaining affair. Both of these guys can bomb, and it will be interesting to see if Good can continue his outstanding ability to avoid the big blow. His significant strike defense has been on point in the fledgling days of his UFC career. While Good has seen his fights end rather early at times, Muhammad is much more methodical, thus why YES (-154): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is a decent amount of chalk to eat. Taking GOOD BY KO/TKO, DQ or SUBMISSION (+200) could help you double up, too.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on Good (+105) returns a profit of $10.50. A $10 wager on Yes (-154): Will the fight go the distance? pays a profit of $6.49, while a $10 bet on Good (+200) winning by KO/TKO or Submission doubles your money for a profit of $20.

UFC 250: Neil Magny vs. Anthony Rocco Martin odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s UFC 250 fight between Neil Magny and Anthony Rocco Martin, with MMA betting odds, picks, tips and bets.

Neil Magny and Anthony Rocco Martin hook up in a welterweight bout on the main card at UFC 250 at the UFC’s Apex Facility in Las Vegas. The card kicks off Saturday at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+ and on pay-per-view.

Magny (22-8) enters this fight with a three-inch height advantage and an amazing 6 1/2-inch reach advantage over his counterpart. The veteran posted a unanimous decision victory over Li Jingliang at UFC 248 last time out March 7, improving to 3-1 over the previous four fights with two ending inside the distance. He hasn’t won a fight by submission in 12 tries dating back to Feb. 14, 2015, while tapping out twice, so Rocco Martin (17-5) would be wise to try and get the veteran to the mat early and often. Magny leads all active welterweight division fighters with 15 wins, and is second all time in the division with nine decision victories.

Rocco Martin posted a unanimous decision victory over Ramazan Emeev at UFC Fight Night Nov. 2, 2019, improving to 5-1 across the past six with only a majority decision setback to Demian Maia June 29, 2019 during that span. He hasn’t been submitted in his past 10 fights while winning two in such method. He has also never been knocked out in 22 career bouts as a pro, winning by KO/TKO once.

Neil Magny vs. Anthony Rocco Martin betting odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday, June 4 at 11:25 a.m. ET.

MAGNY (-143) is on a roll lately, and the veteran is a good play against Rocco Martin (+120) on the 2-way line.

Rocco Martin will likely do everything in his power to get Magny to the canvas or end his night early with a big hit, but the veteran should be able to keep the challenger at a distance with that distinct reach advantage. Magny has a way of slowly and methodically grinding out fights. It isn’t pretty, but he wows the judges with the technical aspects, which is why he has nine decisions wins at the UFC level. Look for MAGNY BY DECISION (+120) as the method of victory. As such, taking YES (-250): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is the play, but try and parlay that with something else rather than eating all of that chalk straight up.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on Magny (-143) to win straight up fetches a return of $7.69, while a $10 wager on Magny to win by decision (+120) returns a profit of $12.

UFC on ESPN 9: Tyron Woodley vs. Gilbert Burns odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 9 fight between Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns, with MMA betting odds, picks, tips and bets.

[jwplayer 4sSrvL2O]

Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns get together in a welterweight bout in the main event at UFC on ESPN 9 – also known as Fight Night 176 – at the UFC’s Apex Facility in Las Vegas. The card kicks off Saturday at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+.

The 38-year-old Woodley (19-4-1) holds a three-inch reach advantage which he hopes to use to keep Burns (18-3) at a distance. While Woodley can more than handle himself on the mat, the ground is where Burns holds a large advantage. Burns has a 2.39 to 1.21 takedown-average advantage, although Woodley edges him with a 41.18 to 38.98 takedown-accuracy percentage. Woodley has been champing at the bit to get back into the octagon after a unanimous decision loss to Kamaru Usman for the welterweight strap at UFC 235. So, Woodley will be fighting with a chip on his shoulder, which doesn’t bode well for Burns. Woodley has never lost consecutive bouts at any point of his mixed martial arts career, and he doesn’t plan to start now.

Burns, nicknamed “Durinho,” enters on a five-bout winning streak, including a KO/TKO win over Demian Maia March 14, 2020 at UFC Fight Night: Lee vs. Oliveira. Burns kicked off the winning streak with a unanimous decision win over Olivier Aubin-Mercier, and hasn’t lost since a KO/TKO setback against Dan Hooker at UFC 226 (July 7, 2018(. Three of Burns’ past five bouts have ended in favorable unanimous decisions, and he has a KO/TKO and submission win during the stretch, showing off his versatility. However, Woodley represents a huge step up in talent.

Tyron Woodley vs. Gilbert Burns betting odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday, May 28 at 8 a.m. ET.

Woodley (-176) is a strong favorite on the 2-way line, and rightly so vs.  Burns (+145). As mentioned, Woodley has never lost consecutive fights at any point of his illustrious career.

Now, how will the fight be won? We’re likely to see plenty of toe-to-toe action, and takedown attempts, but each of these guys have solid ground games, both offensively and defensively. Look for a long, drawn out fight with plenty of action, but a bout that will ultimately be decided by the judges. As such, betting DECISION (+115) on HOW WILL THE FIGHT FINISH? is a good wager. In addition, YES (+115): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is a nice value as well.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on Woodley (-176) to win returns a profit of $5.68. A $10 bet of Yes (+115) on the fight going the distance pays a $11.50 return, and betting on the fight to end on a Decision (+115), regardless of fight winner, fetches a $11.50 profit.

UFC 246: Anthony Pettis vs. Diego Ferreira odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s UFC 246 lightweight bout between Anthony Pettis and Diego Ferreira, with UFC betting odds, picks and best bets.

[jwplayer Vk6KCC2o]

Anthony Pettis and Diego Ferreira will go toe-to-toe at UFC 246 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Saturday in a lightweight bout on the pay-per-view card. We break down the Pettis-Ferreira betting odds and lines, with UFC betting picks, tips and best bets for UFC 246.

Pettis (22-9) is looking to bounce back after a unanimous decision loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 241 Aug. 17, and he has alternated wins and losses in each of his past nine bouts. Since successfully defending the lightweight strap against Gilbert Melendez at UFC 181 Dec. 6, 2014, he has been in a freefall down the ranking, going just 4-7. However, he does have wins over Charles Oliveira, Jim Miller, Micheal Chiesa and Stephen Thompson along the way, with the Thompson victory coming March 23 of last year in a knockout, so he is still very dangerous.

Ferreira (16-2) easily has the better record of the two fighters, and is on a different trajectory. He also has a 74-72.5″ reach advantage, and he hasn’t tasted defeat since back-to-back losses to Beneil Dariush at UFC 179 and a knockout at the hands of Dustin Poirier in the first round of UFC Fight Night April 4, 2015. His past two wins are by unanimous decision over Rustam Khabilov and Mairbek Taisumov.

SPECIAL BET LINE: McGregor vs. Cerrone

BetMGM is offering a special Bet $1, WIN $200 (in free bets) if McGregor wins in any manner vs. Cerrone January 18, 2020. Bet now at BetMGM!

Available to new customers in New Jersey; visit BetMGM for terms and conditions.

Per BetMGM, Ferreira (-250) is a moderate favorite over Pettis (+180). The oddsmakers also lean to the match going the distance (three rounds), with odds there being set at -150 for – and the odds to not go a full three rounds at +115.

Are you new to sports betting? A $10 wager on Ferreira to win returns $4 in profit. A bet on Pettis at +180 returns a profit of $18 with a victory.

Also See:

Pettis is still very dangerous, but he hasn’t been able to show much consistency lately, while Ferriera is younger, quicker and a lot better in the significant strike department. As long as Ferreira doesn’t let his guard down and plays solid defense, negating a huge punch and kill shot, he should be able to grind out a unanimous decision. The play here is Ferrerira to win by decision/technical decision (+115), with the fight going a full three rounds (-150).

UFC 246: Conor McGregor vs. Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s UFC 246 main event between Conor McGregor and Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, with UFC betting odds, picks, tips and bets.

[jwplayer Vk6KCC2o]

Conor McGregor and Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone will lock horns at UFC 246 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Saturday. The welterweight bout is the main event on the pay-per-view card. Below, we breakdown the McGregor-Cerrone fight, with UFC 246 betting odds and picks.

‘The Notorious’ is back, and he’ll have a formidable opponent with the veteran ‘Cowboy’. Still, while McGregor (21-4) is sure to be a huge draw, and the pay-per-view returns will be rather substantial, he isn’t the fighter he once was. However, he is the closest thing to Mike Tyson this sport has ever had, and people will tune in to see him, even if he is heading into the back nine of his career.

Cerrone (36-13) is a warrior. He has had his fair share of losses, but just when folks are about to write him off, he steps up his game and shows why he is one of the most decorated and respected fighters to ever grace the octagon. He looked tremendous in a five-round bout against Al Iaquinta in the main event of UFC Fight Night back on May 4, 2019, winning in a unanimous decision, but he lost by TKO – Doctor’s Stoppage against Tony Ferguson in the follow-up at UFC 238, and he was knocked out by Justin Gaethje at UFC Fight Night Sept. 14. He’s loaded with experience, but there’s a lot of mileage on the odometer, too.

Per BetMGM, McGregor (-358) is an overwhelming favorite over Cerrone (+250). The oddsmakers also lean to the match not going the distance (five rounds), with odds there being set at a whopping -589 for No – and the odds to go a full five rounds at Yes +400.

Are you new to sports betting? A $10 wager on Cerrone to pull the upset returns $25 in profit. A bet on McGregor at -358 returns a profit of $2.80 with a victory.

Also See:

McGregor is still a show stopper, and he is catching Cerrone at a good time, on a two-bout slide. The Notorious is still the dominant striker of the two, and while Cerrone showed improvement in the defense department in his UD win against Iaquinta, he is sure to be knocked off his game by the colorful McGregor. The latter is dominant in takedown defense, striking and just overall showmanship. I absolutely LOVE the odds of a McGregor win in Round 3 at +1000. If you can multiply your stake by 10 times with a third-round win, that turns even a small-unit bet into a nice bankroll. McGregor should win by KO/TKO or DQ (-209), so that’s not a bad little parlay.
