Final Week 1 Jets injury report: Three questionable but should be good to go

Final Week 1 Jets injury report: Three questionable but should be good to go

The Jets released their final injury report for Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. Left tackle Duane Brown (shoulder), right tackle Mekhi Becton (knee) and running back Breece Hall (knee) are all listed as questionable for the game. However, all three were full participants in practice Saturday after being limited all week — Becton missed Friday due to an illness.

The only new addition to the injury report for the Jets on Saturday was nickelback Michael Carter II, who was listed with an elbow injury. Head coach Robert Saleh said he is fine, Carter practiced in full Saturday and he does not have a game designation for Monday.

For the Bills, safety Micah Hyde was a full participant again Saturday after being limited Thursday with a back injury but was upgraded to full on Friday. He is good to go for Monday.

Friday Jets injury report: Mekhi Becton misses due to illness

There was a bit of a changeup on the injury report for the Jets on Friday and it involved a starter up front, but should be just a minor note.

Due to an illness, starting right tackle Mekhi Becton did not practice Friday. He was the only Jet to not practice Friday. That was a downgrade/addition to the injury report. Becton was already limited with his knee injury.

Everything else was exactly the same as it was Thursday. LT Duane Brown (shoulder) and RB Breece Hall (knee) were again limited Friday but both are expected to play Monday.

One change to the Bills’ injury report Friday and that is safety Micah Hyde being upgraded to a full participant in practice after being limited Thursday with a back injury.

One more day of practice Saturday before the final injury report comes out and then it’s time to get ready for the Monday night showdown.

With the Jets playing on Monday night to open the season, the team did not practice and thus did not need to release an injury report until Thursday. They did just that and the good news is the Jets, at least in terms of who is available, are fairly healthy as a whole.

Only three players on the 53-man roster were listed on the injury report and all three were limited. No one missed practice Thursday which is a good sign.

Left tackle Duane Brown, as he was all season in 2022, was limited with a shoulder injury. It already looks like that will be the plan again in 2023. Right tackle Mekhi Becton was limited with his knee injury and running back Breece Hall was also limited with his knee injury. So really, no surprises at all with the first injury report of the season for the Jets.

For the Bills, only one player was listed Thursday and that was safety Micah Hyde who was limited with a back injury.

The Jets will be back at it Friday and then will have the final Week 1 injury report on Saturday before the big season kickoff on Monday.
