Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Washington Wizards (32-37) take on the Cleveland Cavaliers (44-28) Friday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Wizards vs. Cavaliers odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Wizards covered as 13.5-point home favorites as they cruised to a 117-97 win over the Detroit Pistons Tuesday. Washington is only a 1/2 game ahead of the Indiana Pacers for the No. 10 seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Cavaliers failed to cover as 2.5-point home underdogs in Wednesday’s 118-109 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. Cleveland is 2.5 games ahead of the New York Knicks for the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference.

This will be the third meeting between the Wizards and the Cavaliers this season. Cleveland won and covered the first two meetings, while the total was split in those games.

Wizards at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 112, Wizards 104

Moneyline

PASS.

Even with the Cavaliers (-200) expected to win at home, I wouldn’t advise taking them straight up in a wager at the current odds which are beyond my personal moneyline limit.

Against the spread

CAVALIERS -5.5 (-105) is the pick in this matchup, and I’d bet Cleveland all the way up to -7.5. The Cavaliers will be motivated to secure a victory at home to gain some ground in the playoff race following their loss to the 76ers last time out.

The Cavaliers are 22-13-1 ATS at home this season, and the Wizards are 20-22-2 ATS as underdogs this season.

Over/Under

UNDER 220.5 (-115) is the play on the total in this contest with these teams playing at slower tempos. Washington and Cleveland are both bottom 9 in pace, and Cleveland owns the best defensive rating in the NBA.

The Wizards are 4-1 to the Under in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. The Under is also 6-2 in the last 8 meetings.

Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Cleveland Cavaliers (1-1) host the Washington Wizards (2-0) at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Sunday. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (NBATV). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Wizards vs. Cavaliers odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Cavaliers are coming into this game following their 1st win of the season on Saturday night, a 126-98 victory against the Chicago Bulls. They lost their season opener 108-105 to the Toronto Raptors.

Cleveland’s star G Darius Garland left in the first half against the Raptors with an eye injury and isn’t likely to play Sunday. Offseason addition G Donovan Mitchell has picked up the slack, averaging 31 points per game through the first 2 games.

As for the Wizards, although 29-year-old G Bradley Beal has averaged over 30 points per game in 2 seasons, it is F Kyle Kuzma who is averaging a team-high 24 points per game.

Washington opened its season with a 114-107 win over the Indiana Pacers on the road. It has also taken down the Bulls, beating Chicago 102-100 on Friday.

Wizards at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 108, Wizards 104

Moneyline

PASS.

The Cavaliers’ defense combined with Mitchell’s offensive prowess is a lethal combination, and the Wizards, especially Beal who is shooting 58% from the field, will be tested more than against Chicago or Indiana.

Against the spread

LEAN CAVALIERS -3.5 (-115).

The Cavaliers have length defenders in F Evan Mobley and C Jarrett Allen that should be able to disrupt Beal and Kuzma. Also, the Wizards’ strength of schedule so far hasn’t been there.

They shot 9.5% better from the field and 12.6% better from deep against the Bulls and still only won by 2 points. Against the Cavaliers, who were the 5th-best defensive team in the league last season, Washington should struggle.

Washington was 12-18-1 ATS as a road dog last season.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 217.5 (-112).

The Wizards shot 51.3% from the field against the Bulls and put up 104 points. Kuzma and Beal both seem to prefer the half-court style of play and excel in isolation as well.

With a solid defense in Cleveland, and also a Cavaliers offense that sat 20th in the NBA in offensive rating last season, expect a sloppy game for both teams.

Both teams also sit outside the top half of the league in offensive rebounding rate, so additional opportunities may come at a premium.

Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Washington Wizards (27-32) visit Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Saturday to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers (35-24). Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Wizards vs. Cavaliers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Cavaliers are on a path to make the playoffs for the first time since LeBron James left in 2018. However, they’re on a three-game losing streak with the most recent a 106-103 loss at Detroit Thursday.

The Cavs, fifth in the Eastern Conference, return home after a 1-3 road swing. They have been one of the best-covering teams in the NBA with a 34-23-2 against the spread (ATS) record.

With SG Bradley Beal sidelined and likely done for the season, the Wizards have dropped from playoff contenders to 11th in the East. They’re coming off a 4-point (157-153), double OT loss to San Antonio Friday, failing to cover as 3.5-point home underdogs.

The Wiz are just 3-6-1 ATS over their last 10 and 22-35-2 ATS on the season.

Wizards at Cavaliers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 110, Wizards 101

Money line

PASS.

Cleveland hasn’t been the same without Garland in the lineup. However, it is 18-9 at home this season and should come out on top in this one, but at -360, it’s unplayable.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

LEAN to the CAVALIERS +7.5 (-107).

Replacing an All-Star is easier said than done, and it’s a pain both teams are feeling.

Without Garland in the lineup, the Cavs are just 6-6 with losses to Houston, Washington, and Detroit. Without Beal, the Wizards are 10-9.

Washington is the worst road covering team in the NBA at 9-18-1 ATS. Cleveland is the second-best home covering team with a 17-9-1 ATS record.

The Cavaliers have been significantly better at home. With both teams down key scorers, I’d bank on the side with a top-five defense to cover at home – Cleveland ranks fourth in defensive rating.

Over/Under

BET OVER 204.5 (-110).

The Cavaliers are coming off a game in which they allowed 106 points to the Pistons, who rank 29th in true-shooting rate. The Wizards are 14th in TS% and may see similar success against a Cavs defense missing Garland and LeVert.

The Wizards have hit the Over in two straight and five of their last seven.

The Cavaliers’ success at covering the Under at home is baked into this line as well. Cleveland pushed with a 209 O/U in its 106-103 loss to Detroit.

The Wizards and Cavs respectively rank 22nd and 25th in pace as well.

Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Washington Wizards (7-3) travel to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Wednesday to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers (7-4). Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Wizards at Cavaliers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Cavaliers are coming into this game red hot as the winners of four straight. The Cavaliers defeated the Knicks by 17 in their last outing with potential All-Star and Player of the Week C Jarrett Allen hunkering down the paint.

They’ve held their opponent under 110 points for five consecutive games, but doing so against the G Bradley Beal-led Wizards will not be easy. Beal is one of the most prolific scorers in the NBA.

He put up 30 for the Wizards in their most recent loss to the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday. They’ve topped 110 in two of their last four outings, making this a prime matchup for both sides.

Wizards at Cavaliers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Wizards 107, Cavaliers 101

Money line

PASS on the money line with a slight lean to Washington (-150) because I do think they’ll come out on top.

The points offer better value though, especially since most NBA games have fouling at the end if they’re within a couple of points. Look toward the spread for more value.

Against the spread

BET on the WIZARDS -2.5 (-120) as the best value in this game. The Cavaliers are coming into Wednesday extremely short-handed with three of their best scorers out.

While the Cavaliers have a marginally better offensive rating, the Wizards defensive rating is the fifth-best in the league. The Wizards should be able to lock up Allen behind PF Montrezl Harrell and C Daniel Gafford. With Beal winning the battle in the backcourt, the more skilled team — which is this instance is Washington — should come out on top.

The Cavs have the sixth-best offensive rebounding rate while the Wizards have the seventh-best defensive rebounding rate. Limiting Cleveland’s second chance opportunities will be another reason why the Wizards come out on top.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 208.5 (-108) as I don’t trust Cleveland’s offense without its best playmaker. Love and Markkanen are both top-seven scoring options, and Sexton is the top scorer for the Cavs.

They should struggle to score without those three suiting up. The Cavaliers already have the fourth highest turnover rate and not having experienced scorers won’t help the cause.

On the other side though is Beal, so that’s why one should only consider this for a small unit. However, Washington is just 15th in offensive rating, so despite having a top-tier scorer, they haven’t been overly dominant on that end of the court.

That said, with the injuries and rebounding, I’d lean the Under in this one.

Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Washington Wizards (28-34) travel to meet the Cleveland Cavaliers (21-41) Friday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Tip-off is set for a 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Wizards-Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Wizards belted the Los Angeles Lakers 116-107 Wednesday, winning for the ninth time in 10 games while covering for the eighth time during the span. They hit the Under against the Lakers to snap a 3-0 Over run, which included a 119-110 home win over the Cavs Sunday.

The Cavaliers lost at home to the Orlando Magic by a 109-104 score, failing as 3.5-point favorites. The game wasn’t even really that close as Cleveland outscored Orlando 43-27 in the fourth quarter to make things respectable.

Wizards at Cavaliers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wizards 123, Cavaliers 108

Money line (ML)

The Wizards (-275) are quite expensive and are just too risky despite the fact they topped the Cavaliers 119-110 Sunday in D.C. The Cavs have lost four in a row and seven of the previous eight.

AVOID.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The WIZARDS -6.5 (-110) covered as 7.5-point favorites vs. the Cavaliers Sunday. The red-hot Wiz will get it done on the road against a Cavaliers team, which is limping to the finish line. Washington still has hope for a playoff spot, especially since it is 9-1 SU/8-2 ATS across the past 10 overall.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 226.5 (-110) is worth playing here. The Over cashed in the previous meeting, and the Over has hit in three of the past four outings overall for the Wiz.
