Washington Football Team at New York Giants odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Washington Football Team at New York Giants Week 18 odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Washington Football Team (6-10) visit the New York Giants (4-12) for a Week 18 game Sunday at Met Life Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Washington vs. Giants odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

Washington announced Feb. 2 is the day it will change the team name but it’s otherwise been a quiet week ahead of this meaningless NFC East game. Washington held off the Giants 30-29 in a Week 2 Thursday Night Football battle at FedEx Field as the Over easily hit.

The Giants struggled in a 29-3 loss at Chicago last weekend, posting a season-low in points. It was a fifth consecutive loss and non-cover for the G-Men, as they play out the string.

Washington at Giants odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Washington 27, Giants 9

Money line

Washington (-340) will cost you three and a half times your potential return, and that’s risky business for a sub-.500 team on the road.

AVOID.

Against the spread

WASHINGTON -6.5 (-120) is much more reasonably priced laying the points. Yes, it’s risky playing a team on the road laying so much, especially in a meaningless game.

However, the Giants are down to their third-string QB for this one with Daniel Jones (neck) on injured reserve and Mike Glennon (wrist) out. The last time we saw QB Jake Fromm make a start it was an absolute disaster. Expect more of the same, as the WFT defense gets after him.

Over/Under

The UNDER 37.5 (-110) is a low number, but the Giants shouldn’t do much of anything on offense. New York scored just three against the Bears last week, and WFT ranks 22nd in the NFL with just 19.6 PPG themselves. The one thing the Giants actually do well — run the ball — is against the strength of the eighth-ranked WFT rush defense.

Washington at Giants head-to-head

Washington beat the Giants in their first meeting this season, a 30-29 home victory in Week 2 by a game-winning 43-yard field goal as time expired. Heinicke threw 2 touchdowns and the defense sacked Jones 4 times.

Dating back to 1932, the rivals have played each other 179 times, including twice in the postseason. The Giants lead the all-time series 105-70-4 and had won five straight matchups before the loss earlier this season.

Heinicke has just the one career start against the Giants this season, while Jones is 4-1 in his career against Washington. However, Jones is on injured reserve and will not play in the season finale.
