Watch: Nick Chubb with the beautiful cutback touchdown run

Chubb got great blocks from Jedrick Wills and Jarvis Landry

It took Nick Chubb a little bit to get cooking in the Cleveland Browns matchup with the Washington Football Team. But in the second quarter, Chubb dished out a fantastic cutback and cooked up the Browns first touchdown of the afternoon.

Chubb showed he can quickly learn and adapt in-game on the touchdown.

On an earlier run from a similar set, Chubb stuck to the right and navigated for a short gain. He did not miss the big cutback lane the next time it was put on his plate. Great blocks from left tackle Jedrick Wills to seal off the backside and wide receiver Jarvis Landry down the field

Browns injury update: Jack Conklin back but limited, Olivier Vernon still out

Conklin said he’ll be 100% by Sunday

There was some good news and optimistic vibes coming from the Cleveland Browns team practice in Berea on Wednesday. Starting right tackle Jack Conklin was back at practice. And while his official status for the day’s session was limited, Conklin is confident he will play Sunday against the visiting Football Team.

“(The) ankle’s feeling great,” Conklin said on his Zoom call before practice.  “I’ll be back to 100% this week, rolling.”

Conklin was among several Browns who were limited participants on Wednesday. He was joined by:

  • CB Kevin Johnson
  • C JC Tretter
  • CB Greedy Williams
  • LB Mack Wilson

Three Browns sat out completely: LB Jacob Phillips and DEs Adrian Clayborn and Olivier Vernon. Phillips and Vernon missed the Week 2 win over Cincinnati, while Clayborn left in the first half and has not returned to action since.

Browns open as 7-point favorites over Washington in Week 3

The Browns are the second-biggest favorite in Week 3

The opening line for the Cleveland Browns and Washington Football Team matchup in Week 3 is out. Cleveland is a healthy favorite at home for Sunday’s meeting between the two 1-1 clubs.

The Browns are 7-point favorites to defeat the visiting Football Team at BetMGM. Cleveland is coming off an impressive 35-30 home win over the Cincinnati Bengals last Thursday. The Football Team fell in a late Sunday game in Arizona, 30-15. Only the Indianapolis Colts (-10.5 vs. the New York Jets) are bigger favorites this week than the Browns in this week’s action.

The over/under on the game is currently set at 44.5, one of the lowest point total lines for Week 3.
