Warriors at Suns: How to watch, lineups, injury reports and broadcast info for Wednesday

Before the Warriors travel to meet the Suns on Wednesday night, here’s everything you need to know about the game, including how to watch.

After securing a win over the San Antonio Spurs in blowout fashion on Monday, the Golden State Warriors will head back out on the road for a contest against the Phoenix Suns.

While it won’t come easy against the 8-5 Suns, the Warriors will get a chance to record their first win on the road of the 2022-23 season. The Warriors have struggled away from San Francisco’s Chase Center, losing all seven of their games outside of the Bay Area this season.

Early in the season, the Warriors suffered a 29-point loss to the Suns in Phoenix. Devin Booker dropped 34 points to lead the Suns to a 134-105 win. Klay Thompson was ejected after jawing back and forth with Booker throughout the game.

NBA Twitter reacts to Jordan Poole’s missed half-court heave vs. Suns

Despite Jordan Poole dropping 38 points, the Warriors fell short against the Suns for another loss. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on NBA Twitter on Wednesday.

After falling down by 11 points in the opening five minutes of Wednesday’s contest against the Phoenix Suns, it looked like the Golden State Warriors were in for a long night against the defending Western Conference champions.

However, after a boost of offense from Jordan Poole and tight defense from Draymond Green, the Warriors were able to land a few counter punches to get back into the game. Poole continued to carry the Warriors throughout the contest, scoring a game-high 38 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the floor with seven triples. The Michigan Wolverines product added nine boards, seven assists and a steal in 37 minutes.

However, it wasn’t enough to close out the league-leading Suns. After trading baskets back and forth, the Warriors couldn’t answer Devin Booker and Chris Paul as the clock ticked down.

Trailing by a point with 31 seconds, Green committed a costly turnover by traveling. Paul answered with a driving layup to give the Suns a three-point advantage with 13 seconds left on the clock.

With time left to find a shot, Jordan Poole launched a 43-footer from half-court. Mikal Bridges grabbed the rebound to seal the game for Phoenix. Poole explained after the game that he expected to be fouled had he continued upcourt, and the Warriors needed three points, not two.

With a 107-103 victory at Chase Center, the Suns were able to hand the Warriors their fourth consecutive loss.

After the Warriors couldn’t complete the upset win over the Suns, the NBA community on Twitter chimed in with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Wednesday night.

Stats, Highlights: Warriors’ Steph Curry scores Christmas career-best 33 points vs. Suns

Steph Curry finally broke his Christmas slump with a 33-point performance during the Warriors’ win over the Suns. Here is a look at the stats and highlights.

While Steph Curry has built an impressive trophy case that includes Most Valuable Player awards, scoring titles and NBA championships. Yet, the Golden State Warriors guard has uncharacteristically struggled during Christmas day contests.

Despite averaging 24.3 points on his career, Curry was only averaging 13.1 points in eight games on Dec. 25. Last season against the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas, Curry tallied just 19 points in a loss.

On the 2021 edition of Christmas day, Curry snapped his slump with an impressive performance against the Phoenix Suns in primetime.

In a battle of Western Conference heavyweights, Curry led the Warriors with a game-high 33 points on 10-of-27 shooting from the floor in 37 minutes. The Most Valuable Player candidate added six assists, four rebounds and three steals in Golden State’s statement win over Phoenix, 116-107.

With Santa watching, Curry buried five triples on 16 attempts from beyond the arc.

Here is a look at some of Curry’s highlights from Christmas day against the Suns via @warriors on Twitter:

After getting right on Christmas, Curry and the Warriors will have two days off before meeting the reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets at Chase Center on Tuesday.

NBA Twitters reacts to Warriors’ statement win over Suns on Christmas

After the Warriors notched a statement win over the Suns in a battle on Christmas, NBA Twitter chimed in with reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying.

On Christmas, the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns proved why they’re the two best teams in the Western Conference.

After the pair of heavyweights exchanged a flurry of haymakers, it was the Warriors who registered a statement win on the road over the Suns in the holiday round of their battle, 116-107.

Golden State’s victory in Phoenix started with Steph Curry. After struggling over his career on Christmas, the Warriors’ Most Valuable Player candidate bounced back with a sizzling 33 point performance on 10-of-27 shooting from the field with six assists, four rebounds and three steals in 37 minutes.

As Curry helped pace the Warriors, Otto Porter Jr. came in clutch with four members of Golden State’s roster in the league’s health and safety protocol. Porter Jr. tallied 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor with six boards and three assists in 29 minutes. In the game’s final two minutes, Porter Jr. recorded seven points to put an exclamation point on Golden State’s win.

On the other side of the court, Draymond Green and Gary Payton II fueled another fierce defensive effort for the Warriors. Chris Paul led the way for Phoenix with 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting.

Despite four other players from the Suns scoring in double-figures, no player reached 20 or more points outside of Paul.

After the Warriors notched a victory over the Suns in a potential Western Conference Finals preview, the NBA community on Twitter chimed in with a flurry of reactions on Christmas day. Here is a look at what fans and analysts were saying about Curry, Porter Jr. and the Warriors on Saturday evening.

Advice and prediction

In part one of the dance between the Suns and Warriors, the teams competed in a back and forth battle for three quarters. Even with Devin Booker getting injured, the Suns were able to pace the Warriors’ offensive attack behind a stout defensive effort. While the Warriors went cold in the final frame, the Suns took advantage.

Mikal Bridges led the Suns’ defensive attack with a fierce effort against Steph Curry. The reigning Western Conference Player of the Month tallied a season-low 12 points on 4-of-21 shooting from the field. The chances of Curry performing at that level for the second consecutive game feels unlikely. After two days off, Curry will have something to prove when the Suns come to Chase Center.

With the Suns entering the second leg of a back-to-back without Booker and Curry eyeing a bounce-back night, the Warriors -6.5 appears to be the bet to keep an eye on.

If Curry can get back to his MVP caliber play against Bridges and the Suns, over 215.5 is another option to pay attention to during Friday’s game in San Francisco.

Prediction: Golden State 122, Phoenix 111

Advice and prediction

As the Warriors have cruised to a league-best 18-2 record with a seven-game win streak, the Suns have quietly picked up right where they left off last season. The defending Western Conference Champions have built a 17-3 record with a red-hot 16 game winning streak.

While the streaks will make headlines, the Warriors and Suns have the stats to back up the two best records in basketball. The Warriors and Suns rank in the top three for points per game on offense and defensive ratings.

Although both teams mirror each other with an arsenal of firepower on both sides of the court, it’s hard to bet against Steph Curry right now. In seven games on the road, Curry is averaging 29.3 points per contest with a 3-point shooting percentage of 43.3%.

Behind their Most Valuable Player candidate, the Warriors are a league-best 15-4-1 against the spread this season. Over Golden State’s hot start to the season, the team is covering at a rate of 79%.

When the Warriors are getting points, it’s hard not to take advantage. Take the Warriors +3.5.

Prediction: Golden State 117, Phoenix 112

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray made an appearance at Footprint Arena in Phoenix for the Suns vs. Warriors highly-anticipated battle on Tuesday night.

Along with the star power on the court with Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Devin Booker and Chris Paul, there was star power off the court in attendance for the Golden State Warriors’ highly-anticipated contest against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray made an appearance at Phoenix’s Footprint Arena for Tuesday’s battle between the two best teams in the NBA’s Western Conference. Luckily for Murray, the game lived up to the hype.

Via @NBCSWarriors on Twitter:

After a back and forth start filled with fireworks, the Suns’ defense down the stretch helped decide the game. Behind a fierce defensive performance from Mikal Bridges, Curry was held to only 12 points on a cold 4-of-21 shooting from the field.

With Curry locked up, the Suns extended their winning streak to 17 games after a victory over the Warriors, 104-96. With their 17th consecutive win, the Suns matched their franchise record for the longest winning streak.

Suns vs. Warriors: Live stream, how to watch, TV channel, rookie watch, previous result, start time on May 11

After three straight wins at home, the Golden State Warriors will welcome the Phoenix Suns to Chase Center on Tuesday. Here are the details.

After three consecutive wins, including a close victory over the Western Conference-leading Utah Jazz on Monday, the Golden State Warriors will welcome the Phoenix Suns to Chase Center on Tuesday.

With the Suns holding the No. 2 seed and the Warriors slated for the postseason play-in tournament, Tuesday’s contest could be a potential playoff preview.

The Suns will bring their star-studded backcourt featuring Chris Paul and Devin Booker to meet Steph Curry for a battle that could provide fireworks. Curry has scored 30 or more points in 20 of his last 22contests. On Monday, Curry led the Warriors with a team-high 36 points on 11-of-25 shooting from the field against the Jazz.

Before the Warriors host the Suns at Chase Center on a back-to-back, here are all the details for Tuesday’s contest.

3 things to know: Jordan Poole shines with opportunity in short-handed Warriors loss to Suns, 120-98

Although the Golden State Warriors depleted rotation couldn’t slow down the red-hot Phoenix Suns, Jordan Poole impressed in his return from the G League bubble.

Featuring a depleted rotation that included the absence of three starters, the Golden State Warriors were slated for an uphill battle against the red-hot Phoenix Suns.

With Steph Curry and Draymond Green getting rest days and Kelly Oubre Jr. dealing with a sprained wrist, the Warriors turned to a youth movement against Chris Paul, Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns.

While Steve Kerr’s young squad battled to stay in the game, a short-handed attack from the Warriors wasn’t enough to keep up with the Suns’ deep rotation. With Cameron Payne leading the way with 17 points on Friday, five other members of the Suns scored in double-figures to hand the Warriors their first three-game losing streak or the season 120-98.

Riding a three-game losing streak, the Warriors will have six days off before starting the second half of the season against the Los Angeles Clippers on March 11 at Staples Center.

Jordan Poole

Coming off an impressive stretch in the G League’s Orlando Bubble, Jordan Poole picked up right where left off in his return to an NBA lineup. The 2019 first-round pick tallied a game-high 26 picks on 10-of-16 shooting from the field with three boards, an assist, steal and block in 26 minutes off the bench. Poole channeled his best Splash Brothers effort, hitting a season-high five triples on 10 attempts from beyond the arc.

Via @warriors on Twitter:

After dropping 26 points against the Suns and averaging 22.4 points on 45.1% shooting from the field with the Santa Cruz Warriors, Poole should be earning more playing time in Golden State’s backcourt behind Steph Curry and Kelly Oubre Jr.

Nico Mannion

With Steph Curry getting a day off before All-Star weekend, Nico Mannion registered his first start in the NBA. The 2020 second-round pick recorded nine points on 3-of-10 shooting from the field with six assists, four rebounds and a steal in 31 minutes for the Warriors.

All nine of Mannion’s points against the Suns came from long distance, drilling a trio of 3-pointers on five attempts from outside.

Similar to Jordan Poole, Mannion could challenge for more minutes in Steve Kerr’s rotation after pairing a solid performance against the Suns with a strong effort in the G League bubble.

Highlight of the night

In his first start with the Golden State Warriors, Nico Mannion added a highlight-reel sequence to his rookie resume. With the game still close in the first quarter, the Arizona product found fellow rookie James Wiseman at the rim with a crafty lob in the lane.

On the next possession, Mannion stole the pass in the backcourt, to give the Warriors another opportunity to score. Mannion found Juan Toscano-Anderson charging towards the basket for an easy layup.
