With the teams and schedule set, here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying about the matchup between the Warriors and Celtics for the 2022 NBA Finals.

The matchup for the 2022 NBA Finals is officially set. To decide the NBA championship, the Golden State Warriors will meet the Boston Celtics in the 2022 edition of the Finals.

After eliminating the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals, the Warriors have been waiting for the winner of the Eastern Conference finals between the Miami Heat and Celtics.

On Sunday, the Celtics survived the Heat in a Game 7 battle, 120-110. Jayson Tatum scored a game-high 32 points to earn the inaugural Larry Bird Eastern Conference Finals MVP award.

Following the Celtics being crowned Eastern Conference champions, attention turned to the matchup between Golden State and Boston.

During the regular season, the Celtics and Warriors split their series with one win each. Golden State stole the first matchup in Boston with Steph Curry scoring 30 points and Andrew Wiggins tallying 27 points. In the second game between the Warriors and Celtics in San Francisco, Tatum and Jaylen Brown led Boston to a road win with 26 points each.

With the teams and schedule set, the NBA community on Twitter chimed in with a flurry of reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying about the matchup between the Warriors and Celtics for the 2022 NBA Finals.

NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors falling to Celtics despite 29 points from Jordan Poole

After the Warriors dropped a loss to the Celtics, the NBA Twitter community chimed in with reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Wednesday night.

With Draymond Green back in the rotation and a four-game winning streak on the books, things seemed to be clicking for the Golden State Warriors heading into Wednesday’s contest against the Boston Celtics at San Francisco’s Chase Center.

However, that buzz came to a halt before halftime. In the second quarter, Steph Curry appeared to suffer an injury while scrambling for a loose ball with Boston’s Marcus Smart.

Curry exited the game and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest with left foot soreness.

Without Curry, Jordan Poole stepped up. For the fifth straight contest, Poole tallied over 20 points with 29 points on 10-of-20 shooting from the field and six triples from beyond the arc. Poole added three assists, two rebounds and two steals in 34 minutes.

Despite Poole’s explosive performance in the second half, the rest of the Warriors’ offense struggled against Boston’s stingy defense. Klay Thompson was the only other member of the Warriors to register double-figures in scoring with 18 points.

Without Curry, the Warriors dropped a lopsided loss to the Celtics, 110-88.

NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors’ tight road win vs. Celtics, 111-107

Following the Warriors’ tight road win over the Celtics, NBA Twitter chimed in with different reactions. Here’s what fans and analysts were saying on Friday night.

While it can’t be said for many teams, the Boston Celtics have had the Golden State Warriors’ number over the past few seasons.

Heading into Friday’s battle at the TD Garden, the Celtics have won their last five contests against the Warriors. Yet, behind Andrew Wiggins, Steph Curry and Andre Iguodala, the Warriors finally got back on the board.

After the Warriors jumped out to a controlling 20 point lead, the Celtics clawed their way back into the game. While Golden State went cold in the third quarter, the Celtics surged all the way to take the lead by two points in the fourth quarter.

Following a back and forth final frame, clutch free throws and tight defense helped the Warriors edge the Celtics in their building, 111-107.
Curry finished the contest with a game-high 30 points on 8-of-21 shooting from the floor with five assists and four rebounds. Golden State’s MVP candidate added to his record-breaking mark from long-distance with five triples against the Celtics.

Wiggins helped push the Warriors with 27 points on 11-of-20 shooting from the field with six rebounds and two assists. Wiggins tallied 24 of his points in the first half.

Iguodala played an important role off the bench, recording 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field with six assists, four rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 24 minutes.

After the Warriors improved to a league-best 24-5, the NBA community on Twitter weighed in with different reactions on social media. Here is a look at what fans and analysts were saying about Curry, Wiggins, Iguodala and the Warriors’ win over the Celtics on Friday.

How to Watch Warriors vs. Celtics, NBA Live Stream, Schedule, TV Channel, Start Time

Watch Warriors vs. Celtics Live Online.

Both the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors have experienced changes this season, with the two teams going in opposite directions as a result of those changes. While the Warriors have struggled after losing most of their nucleus to free agency or injury, the Celtics have flourished and find themselves near the top of the Eastern Conference. When the two teams play in Boston on Thursday, the Celtics will look to keep those trends going.

The contest against the Celtics will be the second leg of a difficult East Coast road trip for the Warriors. Golden State entered this road trip having lost 13 out of 14 games and at the bottom of the Western Conference after so many years at the top of it. Without Steph Curry and Klay Thompson this season, things could continue to be an uphill climb.

Meanwhile, Boston enters this contest coming home after a three-game road trip. That road trip closed with a road game against the Miami Heat on Tuesday in which they won 109-101 after the Celtics split the first two games against the Orlando Magic and New Orleans Pelicans. Boston currently holds a top-four seed in the Eastern Conference but will need to continue winning as teams like the Pacers and Sixers are right behind them and could relegate the Celtics to a visiting role in the first round of the playoffs.

Prediction

Celtics 125, Warriors 104

Moneyline (ML)

The Celtics (-909) are favored heavily, but the moneyline can’t be a recommended play with a $10 wager on Boston winning outright returning a profit of just $1.10. The Warriors (+600) are never an advisable play.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The CELTICS (-11.5, -125) have cashed in four of their past five games overall, and they’re also 4-1 ATS in the past five while working on one day of rest. On the flip side, the Warriors (+11.5, +105) have registered a solid 5-0 ATS mark in their past five road games against teams with a winning home record. They’re just 10-22-1 ATS in the previous 33 games following a cover. For some reason, the Dubs have long had a case of the Thursdays, going 7-19 ATS in the past 26 on this particular day of the week.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 221.5 (-106) is the way to go. The Over has cashed in four straight for the Dubs, while hitting the Over in four straight as underdogs, too. The Over is 6-1 in the past seven appearances on Thursdays.

For the C’s, while the Under has hit in four straight overall, the Over is 5-2 in their past seven games and 9-3 in their past 12 showings on Thursday.
