Panthers 2024 offseason workout program dates announced

The dates for the Panthers’ 2024 offseason workout program are officially set.

It’s almost time for Dave Canales and his Carolina Panthers to get to work.

On Friday, the NFL announced the offseason workout program dates for the 2024 campaign. Here’s what the Panthers are scheduled for in the coming months:

  • First day: April 8
  • Voluntary minicamp: April 23-25
  • OTA Offseason Workouts: May 20-21, May 23, May 28-29, May 31, June 3-4, June 6
  • Mandatory minicamp: June 11-13

And in case you need a refresher, here—per the league’s official release—is what each phase of the program entails . . .

Phase One:

Phase One consists of the first two weeks of the program with activities limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only.

Phase Two:

Phase Two consists of the next three weeks of the program. Onfield workouts may include individual or group instruction and drills, as well as “perfect play drills,” and drills and plays with offensive players lining up across from offensive players and defensive players lining up across from defensive players, conducted at a walkthrough pace. No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted.

Phase Three:

Phase Three consists of the next four weeks of the program. Teams may conduct a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity, or “OTAs”. No live contact is permitted, but 7on7, 9on7, and 11on11 drills are permitted.

Being that they have a new head coach (again), the Panthers are entitled to conduct an additional voluntary veteran minicamp—which must take place before the 2024 draft (April 25-27).

Broncos RB Javonte Williams more confident entering 2nd NFL season

Broncos running back Javonte Williams is “getting more confident” going into his sophomore year.

After a 2021 season where running back Javonte Williams was named to the All-Rookie team, he finds himself becoming more confident than he was in his first year.

“I’m definitely getting more confident, and everything is starting to slow down,” said Williams after veteran minicamp practice on April 26. “It’s starting to feel like regular football again.”

In 2021, Williams rushed for 903 yards on 203 carries with four touchdowns. That production was with sharing a backfield with running back Melvin Gordon, who’s returning to Denver on a one-year deal.

Both backs rushed for over 900 yards last season; Gordon finishing with 918 yards with eight touchdowns.

Even with a new quarterback, head coach and offensive system, Williams does not find himself worried about learning a new playbook.

“I feel like the running back position is kind of easy because you’re either going to run outside zone, inside zone, or gap. For us, learning the playbook has been easy,” Williams said.

With Williams garnering fan attention over Gordon, it is expected that there will be a large increase in responsibilities going into year 2.

WATCH: Dolphins players share their picks for funniest on the team

The guys had some fun at minicamp.

One of the best things about the Miami Dolphins right now is the number of personalities they have in their locker room.

From the quieter leaders like quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to the wild guys that might say anything like defensive lineman Christian Wilkins and offensive lineman Robert Hunt, the Dolphins have no shortage of characters on their roster.

As the team departed the practice field from one of their voluntary minicamp sessions, the team had a camera posted with a sign that asked who the funniest player on the team was. And, as you’d expect, the answers were all over the place.

If nothing else, the media sessions and team-produced videos will continue to be fun for the Dolphins this year.
