A look at which Auburn Tigers graded the best, worst against Mercer

A look at the top and bottom performers of the week, plus which player had the stat of the game against Mercer?

In the final wrap-up of the Auburn Tigers’ 42-16 thumping of the Mercer Bears, we have the grades. We will also take a look at the stat of the game but we can circle back to that.

The team looked sharp in some aspects and not so sharp in others. It wasn’t expected to look like a well-oiled machine to begin the year, but we did see some progress.

The offense put up points and the defense made it difficult to score, what more could you ask for? As will be the case each week, Auburn Wire takes a look at the top and bottom PFF grades from the game. We kick it off with [autotag]Tank Bigsby[/autotag], [autotag]Robby Ashford[/autotag], and [autotag]Ja’Varriius Johnson[/autotag].

Handing out Alamo Bowl grades for the Texas Longhorns

The report card plus snap counts and PFF top grades for each unit after the Texas Longhorns blowout win in the Valero Alamo Bowl.

It was a tale of two halves for the Valero Alamo Bowl. A game in which the Longhorns led from wire to wire. They jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead but would only score three points on their next six drives heading into halftime. Once Casey Thompson took over for the injured Sam Ehlinger, the offense exploded with 38 points in the second half to run away with the game.

The MVP’s were Bijan Robinson and DeMarvion Overshown. There was a good reason for that due to the level at which they played the game. Overshown had two turnovers and Robinson did what he wanted with the ball in his hands.

It is time to hand out some grades for the Texas Longhorns 55-23 victory over the Colorado Buffaloes.
