New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has again gone viral for his offseason training, but his latest workout might set the standard.

New Orleans Saints superstar running back Alvin Kamara hit the ground at a sprint when he made his NFL debut, and that’s largely been due to the intense training he puts in during the offseason to hone his talents. It’s not for nothing that the 24-year old three-time Pro Bowler already ties for sixth-best in Saints history for career touchdown carries (27), using his unique ability to maintain his balance when tackled by opponents and rack up the points.

Kamara’s trainer is Dr. Sharif Tabbah of Miami-based Athletix Rehab and Recovery, a kinesiologist specializing in working with professional athletes. He’s teamed up with Kamara before, as well as his Saints teammates like Kiko Alonso and Ted Ginn Jr., and other players from around the NFL.

Tabbah’s last workout for Kamara went viral, in which he tasked the Saints running back with catching different-colored batons in midair while balancing on an unstable platform. This summer, though, Tabbah added a new variable by including tennis balls. See it for yourself:

Hopefully this intense training will pay off with a bounce-back year for Kamara. He struggled with a series of lower-leg injuries during the 2019 season, and his stats suffered for it. Maybe his reunion with Tabbah will get him back on the right track.

Watch: Alvin Kamara debuts his wildest workout yet

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has gone viral for his challenging workouts before, but his new technique is the wildest yet.

When you’re a special athlete like New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, you have to get creative to train and condition yourself to play at a high level.

Last year, Kamara’s offseason workout routine featured a unique challenge centered on catching batons while balancing on a medicine ball. The summer before that, he spent his time preparing for the NFL hauling a squat rack and his Jeep uphill.

Now, Kamara’s leveled up again. The running back went viral in a video showing him working out on a basketball court, but he wasn’t there to hoop. Kamara tied a pair of kettlebells to a barbell and took staggered steps from one end of the court to the other. Not something you see every day.

The point of this workout is to challenge Kamara’s core strength — one of his best athletic traits. Kamara’s ability to stay balanced through contact (in other words, remaining upright with someone runs into him) is very rare, and it’s something he’s cultivated through hard work like this. The shifting weights stress his body laterally, making his muscles put in extra effort to keep steady.

With social distancing measures in effect around the nation, Kamara probably can’t visit his usual gyms and clinics. So he’ll be working out with maybe-unusual techniques like this until the coronavirus pandemic is behind us. Hopefully it pays off after a down year in 2019.

Steve Kerr jokingly compares his defense to viral cat vs. dog video

Like many during the quarantine, Steve Kerr is spending his time catching up with social media’s viral videos.

Although there are still 17 games left on the calendar for the Golden State Warriors, Steve Kerr has been spending time preparing for next season. While the NBA is on hold until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic, Kerr has been busy with research for the upcoming free-agent and draft class.

When Kerr isn’t studying hoops during quarantine, he’s surfing social media. Golden State’s coach recently compared his playing defense to a humorous viral video on Twitter.

Via @SteveKerr on Twitter:

The Arizona product was known for his shooting over his defense during his 15-year playing career. Kerr averaged 6.0 points per game on 47.9% shooting from the field and 45.4% from beyond the arc. However, as a coach, Kerr’s defense has been a critical factor during the Warriors’ championship runs.

With Kerr at the helm, Golden State has ranked in the top-10 of NBA defensive rating in four seasons. Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andrew Bogut all earned NBA All-Defensive Team nods with Kerr roaming the sidelines.

As long as Kerr continues to coach the Warriors to the NBA Finals, he won’t have to worry about defense from his playing days.

Broncos WR Courtland Sutton reacts to the #BroomChallenge

A viral tweet claimed that NASA said brooms would stand up on Monday only because of the earth’s gravitational pull.

On Monday, a viral tweet claimed that NASA said brooms would stand up on that day only because of the earth’s gravitational pull. There’s just one problem: NASA never said that.

Brooms can stand up on any day of the week — Sunday through Saturday — but that didn’t stop the #BroomChallenge from going viral on social media. The original tweet has been viewed nearly 7 million times.

Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton was among many Twitter users who were perplexed by the hoax.

Denver cornerback Davontae Harris chimed in, too — he simply wanted to see the challenge go away.

“This is another social media hoax that exemplifies how quickly pseudoscience and false claims can go viral,” NASA public affairs officer Karen Northon told USA TODAY’s Adrianna Rodriguez in an interview.

It was a harmless hoax, but a hoax nonetheless.

Sutton can take solace in knowing that he wasn’t the only one fooled.

The Internet loves this video of Drew Lock rapping to a Young Jeezy song on the sideline

A video of Broncos QB Drew Lock rapping along to a Young Jeezy song drew more than 15 million views on social media.

During the third quarter of the Broncos’ game against the Raiders in Week 17, quarterback Drew Lock was filmed on the sideline rapping along to Young Jeezy’s song ‘Put On.’ The moment quickly went viral after somebody put the words to the song over the video — Twitter loved it.

His teammates loved it, too:

Even safety Tyrann Mathieu — who plays for the Chiefs, one of Denver’s rivals — gave the video some love on Twitter.

After the video went viral, somebody edited Lock’s Wikipedia page to say the quarterback is also an “amateur rap artist” who “spit bars from Young Jeezy’s song ‘Put On’ in his game against the Oakland Raiders.”

Young Jeezy himself clearly appreciated the video and re-shared it on his official Instagram page.

After the game, Lock didn’t even remember what song he was rapping along to but he did quip that he was “spittin’ though.” Juding from the responses on Twitter, most fans seem to agree with that assesment.

The video has over 13 million views on Twitter and more than 1 million views on Instagram. It’s safe to say Lock’s rapping is a hit.
