Vegas Golden Knights at St. Louis Blues odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Vegas Golden Knights at St. Louis Blues odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Vegas Golden Knights (38-25-7) take on the St. Louis Blues (38-30-3) Monday at Enterprise Center. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. ET (NHL Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Golden Knights vs. Blues odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Knights beat the Columbus Blue Jackets, 4-2, to finish a 4-game homestand up 3-1 Saturday. C Jack Eichel had 2 goals and now has 4 in the last 4 games as the team navigates through injuries. They’re playing without captain Mark Stone (upper body), G Adin Hill (undisclosed) and newly acquired C Tomas Hertl (knee), and D Alex Pietrangelo (illness) is questionable. VGK sits in the final Wild Card spot, but it trails the LA Kings by 2 points for the 3rd spot in the Pacific Division. So it can make it into the playoffs in multiple ways.

The Blues likely have 1 way to make it in, and that’s in the final Wild Card spot, which Vegas is sitting in and the Blues trail by 4 points. The Blues are playing desperate hockey, winners of 6 of their last 7 after a 5-4 OT win in Minnesota Saturday. RW Jordan Kyrou had a hat trick, and LW Brandon Saad tucked the game-winner behind the goalie in overtime to win it and stave off a charging Wild team. With only 2 games on the docket tonight, this will be must-see TV.

Golden Knights at Blues projected goalies

Logan Thompson (19-12-5, 2.77 GAA, .905 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Jordan Binnington (25-19-3, 2.85 GAA, .912%, 3 SO)

Thompson came on in relief of Hill, who departed Saturday with another injury. Thompson stopped 8 of 9 shots he saw and was good in his previous 2 starts as well. He stopped 41 of 43 fired his way. Thompson is 1-0-1 against the Blues this year and stopped 51 of 56 in the 2 games.

Binnington’s numbers are back in line with where they were after a couple of down years with some suspect defense in front of him. He’s tied for 6th in saves above expected, according to MoneyPuck.com. He has given up 4 goals in each of his last 2 starts, but he has a 2.46 GAA and .926 SV% this month. He faced VGK twice this season and allowed 5 goals on a blistering 48 shots and just 1 goal on 34 shots in the other.

Golden Knights at Blues picks and predictions

Prediction

Blues 3, Golden Knights 2

Moneyline

Both teams are playing well as STL has won 6 of 7 and VGK has won 5 of 7. What sets the teams apart is Vegas’ size and STL’s goaltending. The Knights’ defensemen are massive, and the Blues’ goaltending has been just as massive.

VGK is opening a brutal road trip here before it goes to Nashville, Winnipeg and Minnesota. St. Louis is coming off an emotional OT win on the road and is the healthier bunch. I look for a low-scoring affair, because frankly, that’s the only way STL can win. And I’m taking the upset with BLUES +120.

Puck line/Against the spread

There’s no play here on the PL with the lines juiced. There is a prop that sticks out, though.

JORDAN KYROU OVER 2.5 SHOTS (-130).

Rouzy has 4 goals in 2 games, and a switch has been flipped where he is looking to score instead of trying to make plays. He has 3+ shots in 3 straight and 4 of 5.

Over/Under

This one has shifted to 6.5 at other places, and I would wait to see if BetMGM follows suit. Then I would nail the Under. This is playoff hockey, and if it gets into an offensive barrage, the Blues don’t stand a good chance. The Blues are 3-4-3 O/U over their last 10, and VGK is 5-5.

LEAN UNDER 6 (-105).

Vegas Golden Knights at St. Louis Blues odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Vegas Golden Knights at St. Louis Blues NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Vegas Golden Knights (25-10-2) play the back end of a two-game road set against the St. Louis Blues (16-16-6) Wednesday with a 9 p.m. ET puck drop at Enterprise Center. Below, we analyze the Golden Knights-Blues odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Golden Knights snapped a three-game skid – they were favored in all three games – with a 6-1 win at the Blues Monday. Vegas, which was a moderate favorite (-145) against the skidding Blues, have won the last four in the head-to-head series, including the last three by a combined score of 16-3.

The Blues have dropped seven in a row overall, last winning March 20 against the San Jose Sharks. Facing VGK won’t be the elixir to cure their ills, either, as they have dropped four straight to the Knights since a 5-4 shootout win Jan. 26 at Enterprise Center.

Golden Knights at Blues: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 12:19 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Golden Knights -155 (bet $155 to win $100) | Blues +130 (bet $100 to win $130)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Golden Knights -1.5 (+170) | Blues +1.5 (-200)
  • Over/Under: 5.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Golden Knights at Blues: Projected starting goalies

Marc-Andre Fleury (17-9-0, 2.14 GAA, .924 SV%, 4 SO) vs. Jordan Binnington (10-11-5, 2.77 GAA, .904 SV%)

Fleury has won just once across his past five starts, and he hasn’t won any in regulation since March 17 against the Sharks. He’ll try to tap into his earlier success against the Blues, as he is 2-0-0 with a 2.46 GAA and .914 SV% in his two previous starts against St. Louis this season.

Binnington was called upon to serve in relief of the ineffective G Ville Husso Monday. He allowed just one goal on 14 shots, but the damage was already more than done. Binnington hasn’t won in five starts and six appearances since March 19 in a shootout at San Jose, and he hasn’t won in regulation across 10 starts since March 3 at the Anaheim Ducks.

Golden Knights at Blues: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Golden Knights 5, Blues 2

Money line (ML)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-155) are moderate favorites over the skidding Blues. After a 6-1 rout in the front end of the two-game set, there is no reason to bet against Vegas in this one.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (+170) are worth a small-unit play at this price after Monday’s rout of the Blues. VGK has covered the puck line in each of its past two wins, and four of its past five wins. Vegas has also covered the puck line in each of the past three meetings with St. Louis.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 5.5 (-115) is the way to go here. Vegas took care of the Over on its own Monday, and the Over is 5-2-1 in the past eight games on the road for the Golden Knights. The Over is also 4-1-1 in their past six on the road as a fave.

In addition, the Over is 4-0-1 in the past five meetings in St. Louis, and a whopping 8-0-1 in the previous nine in this series overall.

Vegas Golden Knights at St. Louis Blues odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Vegas Golden Knights at St. Louis Blues NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Vegas Golden Knights (24-10-2) play the first half of a two-game road set against the St. Louis Blues (16-15-6) Monday with an 8 p.m. ET puck drop at Enterprise Center. Below, we analyze the Golden Knights-Blues odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Golden Knights are in a bit of a nosedive, dropping three straight outings all as favorites. Vegas has had a power outage on offense with a total of just 5 goals scored while coughing up 9 goals during the slide. Each game was at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The Golden Knights are also on a 4-1 Under run across their past five games.

The Blues are also skidding, losing six straight games since their last win at the San Jose Sharks March 20. They have dropped seven straight games at home, too, last tasting victory at Enterprise Center Feb. 18, also against the Sharks.

Golden Knights at Blues: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:45 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Golden Knights -140 (bet $140 to win $100) | Blues +120 (bet $100 to win $120)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Golden Knights -1.5 (+195) | Blues +1.5 (-250)
  • Over/Under: 5.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Golden Knights at Blues: Projected starting goalies

Robin Lehner (6-1-2, 2.29 GAA, .912 SV%) vs. Jordan Binnington (10–11-5, 2.79 GAA, .904 SV%)

Lehner was tripped up at home by the Minnesota Wild in his most recent start Thursday. He made 35 saves in a 3-2 shootout loss for the Knights. Lehner had won four straight starts prior to that outing, including a 5-1 Knights win against the Blues at T-Mobile Arena March 22, in which he stopped 15 of 16 shots.

Binnington was on the losing end of that game March 22 in Las Vegas, and he has won just once across his past nine games. That stretch also includes a 5-4 overtime loss at home against VGK despite making 35 saves on 40 shots March 12.

Golden Knights at Blues: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Golden Knights 3, Blues 2

Money line (ML)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-140) will break out of their slump with a road victory against the skidding Blues.

Vegas dropped its past three games overall, but the Knights have won three straight against St. Louis, including a pair of 5-1 victories in the past two matchups.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The Blues +1.5 (-250) would be the lean here on home ice, as neither side is paying very well lately, but you cannot risk two and a half times your potential return.

The best move is to PASS.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 5.5 (-105) is the lean here until these teams rediscover their offense.

The Blues have hit the Under in five straight outings, while going 7-2-1 against the number across their past 10 games. The Under is 4-1 across the past five for the Knights, too.

Vegas Golden Knights at St. Louis Blues odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Vegas Golden Knights at St. Louis Blues NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Vegas Golden Knights (17-6-1) wrap up a six-game road trip with their second of two games against the St. Louis Blues (14-8-5) Saturday. Puck drop will be at 8 p.m. ET at Enterprise Center. Below, we analyze the Golden Knights-Blues odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

Golden Knights at Blues: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 8:45 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Golden Knights -120 (bet $120 to win $100) | Blues -105 (bet $105 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Golden Knights -1.5 (+220) | Blues +1.5 (-300)
  • Over/Under: 6 (O: +100 | U: -120)

Golden Knights at Blues: Projected starting goalies

Logan Thompson (0-0-0, 0.00 GAA, 1.000 SV%) vs. Ville Husso (5-2-1, 3.48 GAA, .884 SV%)

Marc-Andre Fleury made just 19 saves on 23 shots in a wild 5-4 overtime win in St. Louis less than 24 hours ago, so look for Thompson to make his first NHL start. He appeared in relief Wednesday in his NHL debut at the Minnesota Wild and turned aside the only two shots he faced.

Husso has posted a 3-0-1 record across his past four starts, but he has yet to face the Golden Knights. He has allowed 3 or fewer goals in five of his past seven appearances when giving Jordan Binnington a breather.

Golden Knights at Blues: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Blues 5, Golden Knights 3

Money line (ML)

The BLUES (-105) are worth a roll of the dice against a Golden Knights rookie goaltender. Husso might not be terribly consistent, but he has the experience advantage and is at home.

Just like Friday’s game, though, it is likely to be a high-scoring affair.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The BLUES -1.5 (+275) are worth a roll of the dice on the alternate puck line, although it might take a late empty-net goal to get you over the hump. Still, it’s a solid wager against a rookie netminder.

The Blues were able to pile up four goals against Fleury Friday, so similar or even better production is expected here.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 6 (+100) at even money is a great play, as Thompson could very well yield a lot of goals in his first NHL start, while Husso has coughed up an average north of 3 goals in his outings.

We saw a total of nine goals in Friday’s front end of the back-to-back, and there is no reason to believe all of a sudden these clubs will get defensive with a pair of backups between the pipes.

Vegas Golden Knights at St. Louis Blue odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Vegas Golden Knights at St. Louis Blues NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Vegas Golden Knights (16-6-1) continue a six-game road trip with the start of a two-game set against the St. Louis Blues (14-8-4) at Enterprise Center Friday. Puck drop will be shortly after 8 p.m. ET between the first- and second-place teams in the West Division. Below, we analyze the Golden Knights-Blues odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The first-place Golden Knights are coming off back-to-back losses to the Minnesota Wild Monday and Wednesday in which they were outscored 6-3. They had previously won six straight games.

The Blues have gone to overtime in three straight games and are coming off back-to-back losses of their own on the heels of a four-game winning streak. They return home following a six-game road swing.

Golden Knights at Blues: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:14 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Golden Knights -110 (bet $110 to win $100) | Blues -105 (bet $105 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Golden Knights -1.5 (+230) | Blues +1.5 (-300)
  • Over/Under: 5.5 (O: -120 | U: +100)

Golden Knights at Blues: Projected starting goalies

Logan Thompson (0-0-0, 1.000 SV%, 0.00 GAA) vs. Jordan Binnington (9-6-3, .908 SV%, 2.69 GAA)

Thompson, a 24-year-old former undrafted free agent, has appeared in just one NHL game. He stopped both shots he faced in 8:15 of crease time against the Wild Wednesday. Starter Marc-Andre Fleury was just placed in the NHL’s COVID-19 protocols, and Robin Lehner remains on an AHL conditioning stint.

Binnington just signed a six-year, $36-million contract extension. He’s having a down season but will look to prove himself after allowing 4 goals on 34 shots in an overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings Saturday. He stopped 42 of 46 shots in a Jan. 26 win over the Knights.

Golden Knights at Blues: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Blues 4, Golden Knights 1

Money line (ML)

The BLUES (-105) are slight underdogs despite several factors stacked in their favor. They’re returning home from a lengthy road trip, have a motivated (and highly paid) goaltender, and will be facing a third-string netminder in his first NHL start.

Golden Knights RW Mark Stone is back in the lineup, but D Alex Pietrangelo (upper body) is expected to remain sidelined. The Blues have a lengthy injury list, but RW Vladimir Tarasenko has returned and should get his first goal(s) of the season against the inexperienced Thompson.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Go to the alternate lines and back the BLUES -1.5 (+260) to win by 2 or more goals as the best value play on the NHL docket Friday.

Vegas is ninth in the league in 5-on-5 Corsi For percentage while St. Louis is just 19th, but the Blues are much closer in terms of scoring chances for at full strength.

Over/Under (O/U)

Back the UNDER 5.5 (+100) while expecting one of Binnington’s best outings of the season on home ice and with his new contract in tow.

Both teams played to the Under in two of their last three games.
