The Finn turned aside 39 of the 41 shots he faced in a 4-2 win Thursday in Colorado. He has won 3 of his last 4 starts, although he has conceded 3 or more goals in 5 of his last 6 starts.

Sabres at Golden Knights picks and predictions

Prediction

Sabres 4, Golden Knights 3

Moneyline

The SABRES (+155) are worth a roll of the dice on the road as moderate favorites.

Buffalo will also have revenge on its mind after the Golden Knights (-180) tuned up the Sabres 7-4 on Nov. 10 in Western New York. Jack Eichel, public enemy No. 1 in Buffalo, had a hat trick in that game, but he is on the injured reserve list for this game.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Sabres +1.5 (-180) is a little on the pricey side, so if you like Buffalo, just take it straight up. This comes with some heavy risk, though, as the Sabres have never won in Vegas (0-4).

PASS.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (-115) has dominated lately for the Sabres, going 5-2 in the last 7 games on the road, while cashing at a 6-2 clip in the last 8 games against Western Conference foes.

The Under has dominated lately for the Golden Knights, but the Over is 4-0 in the last 4 for Vegas when its opponent allows 2 or fewer goals in the previous outing.

New York Rangers at Vegas Golden Knights odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s New York Rangers at Vegas Golden Knights odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The New York Rangers (12-10-4) and Vegas Golden Knights (19-7-1) meet Wednesday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Rangers vs. Golden Knights odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Rangers posted a 6-4 win at home against the St. Louis Blues last time out on Monday, bouncing back nicely after a stunning 5-2 loss at MSG against the lowly Chicago Blackhawks Saturday.

The Golden Knights earned a satisfying 4-3 shootout win in Boston, denying the Bruins of 2 points in a rare setback for the Eastern Conference titans. VGK posted a 3-1 record in the 4-game road trip. It looks to redeem itself in front of the home fans as they lost 5-1 against the Vancouver Canucks Nov. 26 in its most recent showing at T-Mobile Arena.

Rangers at Golden Knights projected goalies

Igor Shesterkin (11-4-4, 2.67 GAA, .910 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Logan Thompson (13-5-0, 2.55 GAA, .921 SV%, 2 SO)

Shesterkin allowed 4 goals on 29 shots in a 6-4 victory over the Blues last time out on Monday, avenging a 3-2 loss at home against the Ottawa Senators in his prior start on Friday. He has not been in his Vezina form lately, allowing 3 or more goals in 5 straight starts, and 8 of the past 11 starts overall.

Thompson is brimming with confidence after stopping 40 of the 43 shots he faced in a 4-3 shootout win against the white-hot Bruins in Boston Monday. He has alternated wins and losses across the past 5 starts, but he has yielded 3 or fewer goals in 5 of the past 8 games overall.

Rangers at Golden Knights picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 4, Rangers 2

Moneyline

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-145) are moderate favorites against the visiting Rangers, and the play does come with a little risk. Vegas has dropped its last 2 on home ice against the Canucks and the Seattle Kraken.

Still, VGK has won 11 of its past 12 games against Eastern Conference teams, and the Blueshirts are on a 1-5 slide in the past 6 tries against teams with a winning overall record.

Puck line/Against the spread

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (+155) are worth a roll of the dice on home ice against the skidding Rangers.

Vegas has handled its business against New York since coming into the league, and it is 6-1 in the previous 7 meetings, with the favorite cashing in 7 of the past 8 in this series.

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (-125) is the lean here, but play it lightly.

Shesterkin hasn’t been himself lately, but you have to figure at some point he is going to put it together and turn things around.

Thompson has been a little erratic lately, too, but the Under is 10-1-1 in the past 12 games at home for Vegas while going 5-2 in the past 7 games overall.

The Under is 3-0-2 in the past 5 meetings in this series, and 2-0-2 in the past 4 in Vegas.

Golden Knights at Bruins projected goalies

Logan Thompson (12-5-0, 2.54 GAA, .920 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Jeremy Swayman (5-2-0, 2.60 GAA, .902 SV%)

Thompson coughed up 4 goals on 47 shots last time out at the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 4-3 setback Thursday. He has allowed 3 or more goals in 7 of his past 10 starts, although he is 8-2-0 during the span thanks to 38 goals of offensive support (3.8 goals per game).

Swayman won last time out against the Tampa Bay Lightning Tuesday, allowing just 1 goal on 28 shots and bouncing back from a rough showing in his previous start in Florida on Nov. 23. He went 3-1-0 with a 1.72 GAA and .930 SV% in 3 starts and 5 appearances in November.

Golden Knights at Bruins picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 3, Bruins 2

Moneyline

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (+150) are attractive as moderate road underdogs. VGK has won 9 of 10 games against Eastern Conference teams, although the B’s are 9-0-0 in 9 games against the Western Conference and 14-0-0 at home. Something’s gotta give, and the road team has won 4 of the past 5 meetings in this series.

Puck line/Against the spread

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS +1.5 (-160) aren’t priced out of line if you’d like a little insurance, and just do not trust them straight up.

Vegas is just 1-6 in the past 7 tries against Boston, so there is plenty of risk here. However, the Golden Knights have lost by just 1 goal in 5 of their regulation losses and 1 overtime defeat.

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (-130) might be the best play of the board here.

The Under is 5-1 in the past 6 games overall for the Golden Knights, while going 4-0 in the past 4 when playing on 1 day of rest.

The Under is 6-2-2 in the past 10 games at home for the Bruins, while going 6-2 in the past 8 meetings in this series, including 4-0 in the past 4 meetings in Beantown.

The Penguins were on the short end of a 3-2 overtime setback against the visiting Carolina Hurricanes Tuesday. Pittsburgh cashed its 4th consecutive Under, too.

Golden Knights at Penguins projected goalies

Logan Thompson (12-4-0, 2.44 GAA, .921 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Tristan Jarry (8-3-3, 2.91 GAA, .914 SV%, 1 SO)

Thompson allowed just 2 goals on 28 shots in the 3-2 shootout victory against the Blue Jackets Monday. He was 8-2-0 with a 2.88 GAA and .909 SV% over 10 starts in November. He has won all 5 of his starts against Eastern Conference teams this season, too.

Jarry was edged out Tuesday by the Hurricanes, allowing 3 goals on 39 shots, slipping to 4-1-3 with a 2.82 GAA and .914 SV% with a shutout across 8 November starts. He has won his past 3 starts against Western Conference foes.

Golden Knights at Penguins picks and predictions

Prediction

Penguins 3, Golden Knights 2

Moneyline

The PENGUINS (-120) are a decent play at home against the Golden Knights, who have just the win against the Jackets in their last 3 games.

While the VGK has won 8 of its last 9 road games, it is just 2-5 in the past 7 meetings against the Pens. The favorite is 7-1 in the past 8 in this series, too.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Golden Knights +1.5 (-260) will cost you over 2 1/2 times your potential return if you want a little insurance and don’t trust Vegas straight up. It’s too expensive, so if you like VGK just bet it straight up.

AVOID.

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (-115) is the lean here, as both teams have cashed the Under in each of their last 4 games.

The Under is also 4-1 in the past 5 home games for the Pens while going 6-2 in their last 8 against Western Conference teams.

The Golden Knights hit the road looking to get back on track after consecutive setbacks at home against the Seattle Kraken and Vancouver Canucks. Vegas was outscored 9-3 in the pair of home losses.

The road might be good luck for VGK, as it is 9-1-1 in 11 road outings this season.

The Blue Jackets have also dropped the past 2 games at home, falling by a combined 6-3 score against the Montreal Canadiens and New York Islanders. This is the seventh and final game of a homestand for Columbus who is 3-3 in the first 6 outings, although it was supposed to play a road game at the Nashville Predators Saturday that was postponed.

Thompson allowed 5 goals on 36 shots last time out against the Canucks Saturday, snapping a 3-game win streak. He had allowed just 6 goals on 95 shots in the previous 3 victories and is a healthy 7-2-0 with a 3.00 GAA and .907 SV% in 9 November outings.

Korpisalo has dropped his past 3 starts, allowing 11 goals on 89 shots. He has yielded just 5 goals in the past 2 outings, however, but he has received just 3 goals of support.

Golden Knights at Blue Jackets picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 5, Blue Jackets 2

Moneyline

The Golden Knights (-260) will cost you over 2 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s just too risky, especially on the road.

Vegas should be able to bounce back and snap a 2-game losing streak, but that’s not a good long-term betting strategy.

PASS.

Puck line/Against the spread

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (-105) are a better play at nearly even money.

Vegas is not only 9-1-1 in 11 games on the road, but it has won 5 of those games by 2 or more goals.

The Golden Knights have won 8 in a row against the Eastern Conference while going 7-1 in the past 8 games on the road.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (-115) is the lean, but go lightly.

The Over has cashed in 6 of the past 8 games overall for the Blue Jackets while going 21-7-2 in the past 30 games against the Western Conference.

The Over has also hit in 6 straight on the road for the Golden Knights, while hitting in 4 of the past 5 against Eastern Conference foes, too.

Sharks at Golden Knights projected goalies

James Reimer (4-5-2, 2.88 GAA, .908 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Logan Thompson (8-2-0, 2.31 GAA, .925 SV%, 2 SO)

Reimer has won back-to-back starts, including a solid 28-save effort in a 3-2 shootout win at Minnesota on Sunday. He allowed 4 goals on 31 shots in the Oct. 25 meeting at home against the Golden Knights.

The rookie Thompson has done a great job so far, allowing 3 or fewer goals in 8 of his 10 starts. The wheels have come off a little lately, allowing 11 goals on 112 shots in the last 3 games, but he has still won all of the outings.

Sharks at Golden Knights picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 4, Sharks 2

Moneyline

The Golden Knights (-260) will cost you more than 2 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s just too much risk for not enough reward. Even in a multi-team parlay there is just not a lot of value playing Vegas here.

PASS.

Puck line/Against the spread

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (-108) are a much better value at this price.

The Golden Knights have won by 2 or more goals in 7 of their last 11 wins, including the 4-2 road win in San Jose on Oct. 25 behind Adin Hill against Reimer.

Vegas has won 14 of the last 17 games while going 5-2 in the last 7 at home and cashing in 8 of the last 11 against Western Conference foes.

The Sharks +1.5 (-112) have won just 1 of the last 6 meetings in Las Vegas, while going 8-21 in the past 29 meetings with the Golden Knights.

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (-117) is a great play, as Reimer has been serviceable enough, and Thompson has been locking it down.

The Under is 10-4-2 in the last 16 meetings between these Pacific Division rivals, while cashing in 7 of the last 10 meetings in Vegas. The Under is 6-0-1 in the last 7 at home for the Golden Knights, too.

Vegas Golden Knights at Washington Capitals odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Vegas Golden Knights at Washington Capitals odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Vegas Golden Knights (8-2-0) and Washington Capitals (5-4-1) meet Tuesday at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Hurricanes vs. Golden Knights odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Vegas has won 4 games in a row since losing a 3-2 decision against the defending champ Colorado Avalanche Oct. 22. The Golden Knights are nearly perfect on the season, winning 8 of their 10 games overall, with just a pair of 1-goal losses.

Washington suffered a 3-2 setback in a shootout at Carolina on Halloween, and now it faces a quick turnaround. It’s Washington’s second back-to-back of the season. It lost 3-2 at the Toronto Maple Leafs Oct. 13 in the back end in that situation the first time.

Golden Knights at Capitals projected goalies

Logan Thompson (4-2-0, 1.69 GAA, .943 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Charlie Lindgren (1-1-0, 3.09 GAA, .925 SV%)

Thompson has been tremendous, allowing 3 or fewer goals in each of his 6 starts, including 2 shutouts. He has made 2 starts on the road, allowing 3 goals in each of those outings, so he has been shakier away from home than at T-Mobile Arena.

Lindgren will be making his first appearance at home. He was the backstop in the 2nd end of the back-to-back on Oct. 13, allowing 3 goals on 39 shots in the 3-2 loss at Toronto.

Golden Knights at Capitals picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 4, Capitals 3

Moneyline

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-130) have been a wrecking ball during the early going, posting a plus-15 goal differential, which is 2nd-best in the NHL only to the Boston Bruins.

The Golden Knights have been doing it with defense, allowing just 1.7 goals per game, the best mark in the league. They’ve also limited teams to just 29.0 shots on goal per game, which is 7th in the league.

Washington has struggled offensively, and that will be its undoing in this one.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Capitals +1.5 (-230) will cost you nearly 2 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not enough reward.

If you like Washington, just play it straight up, but it’s not a recommended play.

PASS.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 6.5 (-103), but play it lightly.

Thompson has been a little more giving on the road, allowing 6 total goals in his 2 road assignments. The Capitals’ defense should have some tired legs after playing an emotional game that went to overtime and a shootout Monday.

Winnipeg Jets at Vegas Golden Knights odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Winnipeg Jets at Vegas Golden Knights odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Winnipeg Jets (5-3-0) keep their American tour going in Sin City where they will battle the Vegas Golden Knights (7-2-0) Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Jets vs. Golden Knights odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Despite being 1 of the newest franchises, Vegas has been a steady contender since making the Stanley Cup Final in its inaugural season. This season is no different as the Golden Knights sit in 1st place in the Pacific Division.

The Jets come in after a 3-2 overtime win Friday at the Arizona Coyotes. Despite 35 shots on goal, Winnipeg only managed 3 goals and if they want to take down the Golden Knights, they will need to convert more of these shots into goals on Sunday.

Jets at Golden Knights projected goalies

Connor Hellebuyck (4-2-0, 2.50 GAA, .925 SV%) vs. Logan Thompson (4-2-0, 1.69 GAA, .943 SV%)

Hellebuyck is 1 of the best goalies in the league early in the season. He has  already managed 1 shutout in 6 starts for the Jets.

While Hellebayck is one of the best, Thompson just might be the best. With a 1.69 GAA and 2 shutouts, the Golden Knights have counted on him to deliver. And he has so far.

Jets at Golden Knights picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 3, Jets 2

Moneyline

PASS.

It is too high to wager on the Golden Knights in this game.

Puck line/Against the spread

BET JETS +1.5 (-140).

Both goalies are great. This will lead to a low scoring game, and I do not see either team being able to pull away for a 2-goal victory.

While the Golden Knights lead the Pacific division with 14 points, the Jets are 2nd in the Central with 10 points. Both teams are solid and with this in mind, I do not want to bet either team to win by more than a goal.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 6.5 (-115).

This is the obvious play. Between Thompson and Hellebuyck, they have played in 12 games and 3 have ended in shutouts. This game will be an offensive struggle and the goalies will prevail in a low-scoring bout. The UNDER 6-5 (-115) is my favorite bet of this game.

Jets at Golden Knights projected goalies

David Rittich (6-3-4, 3.57 GAA, .886 SV% in 2021-22 w/Nashville) vs. Logan Thompson (2-1-0, 2.03 GAA, .938 SV%, 1 SO)

The veteran Rittich is expected to make his first appearance as a member of the Jets on the second end of a back-to-back situation. He hasn’t faced VGK since the 2019-20 season when he went 0-2-0 with a 5.02 GAA and .836 SV% in 2 starts with Calgary.

Thompson lost to the Flames last time out, allowing 3 goals on 40 shots. He posted a 27-save shutout in a 1-0 win over the visiting Chicago Blackhawks in his only home start to date last Thursday.

Jets at Golden Knights picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 5, Jets 2

Moneyline

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-165) are moderate favorites, and it’s a little surprising the number is this low considering the Jets just played Wednesday.

Yes, Winnipeg won, and yes, it was an impressive victory over the defending champs in their barn. However, Rittich won’t help the Jets come up aces in Vegas, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him get lit up.

Puck line/Against the spread

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (+140) is worth playing lightly on the puck line. There is some risk here, as VGK is 0-1 as a favorite on the puck line with Thompson patrolling the blue paint, but that was a lack of offensive support and not an indictment of his play.

Over/Under

The OVER 6.5 (-115) is worth playing here, but it won’t go Over by much.

Rittich is likely to have some rust in his first start of the season, and Thompson had a shutout in his only home start so far. This play comes with risk, so play just a half-unit here.

Chicago Blackhawks at Vegas Golden Knights odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Chicago Blackhawks at Vegas Golden Knights odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago Blackhawks (0-1-0) and Vegas Golden Knights (1-0-0) meet Thursday at T-Mobile Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Blackhawks vs. Golden Knights, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Blackhawks opened their season Wednesday with a 5-2 loss at the Colorado Avalanche. New Chicago coach Luke Richardson lost in his debut as C Jonathan Toews and Max Domi scored the Blackhawks goals.

Vegas RW Mark Stone scored the tiebreaker in the final minute of a 4-3 win at the Los Angeles Kings Tuesday and we predicted the result down to the exact score. Coach Bruce Cassidy won in his debut for the Golden Knights who closed as a very slight underdog (-108) on the moneyline.

Blackhawks at Golden Knights projected goalies

Alex Stalock (20-11-4, 2.67 GAA, .910 SV% in 2019-2020) vs. Logan Thompson (1-0-0, 3.01 GAA, .900 SV%)

Stalock faced the Golden Knights twice in 2019-20 as a member of the Minnesota Wild, going 1-1-0 while allowing 3 goals on 55 shots, good for a 1.53 GAA and .945 SV%.

Thompson faced the Blackhawks twice last season, going 1-0-1 while allowing 7 goals on 74 shots, good for a 3.30 GAA and .905 SV%.

Blackhawks at Golden Knights picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 5, Blackhawks 4

Moneyline

PASS.

The Golden Knights (-380) are overvalued on the ML, especially considering how close these teams’ last head-to-head meetings have been. Vegas is just 6-4 vs. Chicago in the last 10 meetings.

Puck line/Against the spread

CHICAGO +1.5 (+115) is a strong play at positive money. In the last 7 meetings, Chicago is 7-0 on the puck line. The Blackhawks got a bad break having to open their season at the defending Stanley Cup champions, but should put up a more respectable effort vs. a Vegas team that they historically play well.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (-125) should hit Thursday and has a lot of trends to support it.

Dating back to last season, the Over is 6-1 in Chicago’s last 7 games vs. a team with a record above .500. Chicago struggles to keep games low scoring vs. elite competition. While Vegas’ record of 1-0-0 is a small sample size, it is still projected to have a winning season.

Vegas’ offense shines at home as the Over is 8-1 in its last 9 home games. Chicago’s offense can keep pace in Vegas as well, as the Over is 7-3 in their last 10 head-to-head meetings at T-Mobile Arena.
