Vegas Golden Knights at Vancouver Canucks odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Thursday’s Vegas Golden Knights at Vancouver Canucks sports betting odds and lines, with NHL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Vegas Golden Knights (19-13-5) and Vancouver Canucks (16-15-4) tangle at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia at 10 p.m. ET Thursday. We analyze the Golden Knights-Canucks sports betting odds and lines, with NHL matchup analysis, picks and tips.

Golden Knights at Canucks: Projected starting goalies

Marc-Andre Fleury vs. Jacob Markstrom

Fleury has picked up three victories in his past four outings since returning from a multi-week absence due to a personal family issue. One of those victories came against the Canucks at T-Mobile Arena Dec. 15, allowing three goals on 29 shots. He is 14-7-2 with a 2.53 goals against average and .918 save percentage overall.

Markstrom is looking to slam the brakes on a three-game skid, as he has slipped to 9-11-3 with a 2.70 GAA, .915 SV% and one shutout. He was on the short end of that Dec. 15 game in Vegas, pulled midway through the third period after giving up five goals on 39 shots.

Prediction

Golden Knights 5, Canucks 3

Moneyline (ML)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-143) look to win in this series yet again. Since the Knights came into the league they’re 8-1 against Vancouver, including 4-0 all-time in B.C. while outscoring the Canucks by a 20-11 margin.

New to sports betting? Every $10 wagered for the Golden Knights to win in regulation, overtime or a shootout would profit $7 if they do so.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-1.5, +180) are a great play on the puck line as they have dominated in this series. Until the Canucks start ticking off wins against the Knights on a regular basis, continue fading Vancouver.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 5.5 (-139) is 4-0 in four all-time meetings in Vancouver between these two sides, and 6-3 in nine meetings overall between these teams. Vegas has averaged 4.6 goals per game in nine battles against the Canucks, with Vancouver averaging 2.3 goals per game in the all-time series.

Vancouver Canucks at Vegas Golden Knights odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Sunday’s Vancouver Canucks at Vegas Golden Knights sports betting odds and lines, with NHL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Vegas Golden Knights (17-13-5) host the Vancouver Canucks (16-13-4) Sunday at T-Mobile Arena for an 8 p.m. ET puck drop. We analyze the Canucks-Golden Knights sports betting odds and lines, while providing NHL betting tips and picks around this matchup.

Canucks at Golden Knights: Projected starting goalies

Jacob Markstrom vs. Marc-Andre Fleury

Markstrom is 9-9-3 through 21 starts with a .918 save percentage and 2.55 goals against average. The latter rates would be career bests if they hold up over the season. He took the loss Saturday against the San Jose Sharks but gave up just two goals on 25 shots faced.

Fleury gave up four goals in two of his last three starts coming into Sunday. He is 12-7-2 on the year with a .919 SV% and 2.54 GAA.

Prediction

Golden Knights 4, Canucks 1

Moneyline (ML)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-200) topped the Dallas Stars 3-2 in overtime Friday for just their second win in their last five games. They’re 8-6-3 at home and 6-3-1 over their last 10 games overall. The Canucks (+165) are 8-9-1 as visitors this season and 5-5-0 across their last 10 games. They took a 4-2 loss against the Sharks on Saturday.

The Golden Knights, fourth in the Pacific Division, are the better team overall and have both the rest and home advantages. Back Vegas at higher odds than it should have.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Golden Knights to win in regulation, overtime or a shootout returns a profit of $5.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

Back a rested GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-1.5, +140) to win by at least 2 goals. Vegas is just 14-21 against the spread overall and 6-11 at home while Vancouver is 18-15 ATS overall and 12-6 on the road, but each of the Canucks’ last two losses were by at least two goals.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the UNDER 5.5 (+105) with both teams hitting the Over in just four of their last 10 games. The Canucks won’t be able to provide enough scoring on the second half of the back-to-back against a rested Fleury.

Edmonton Oilers at Vancouver Canucks odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Sunday’s Edmonton Oilers at Vancouver Canucks sports betting odds and lines, with NHL matchup analysis, picks and tips

The Edmonton Oilers (16-9-3) visit the Vancouver Canucks (13-10-4) at Rogers Arena Sunday at 10 p.m. ET. We analyze the Oilers-Canucks odds and lines while providing NHL betting tips around this matchup. The two teams played Saturday in Edmonton with the Canucks prevailing 5-2.

Oilers at Canucks: Projected starting goalies

Mikko Koskinen vs. Thatcher Demko

Koskinen has a 9-2-2 record for Edmonton with a 2.56 goals against average and .920 save percentage. Koskinen has bounced back from an uneven debut season. He stopped 46 of 50 shots in a 4-3 loss to Colorado on Wednesday night and Mike Smith started Saturday night.

Demko has a 5-4-1 record. He has a 2.92 goals against average and .907 save percentage on the season. The Vancouver goalie followed up a very good performance in Philadelphia with a less than desirable one in Pittsburgh. He allowed seven goals on 39 shots in the loss.

Prediction

Canucks 4, Oilers 3

Moneyline (ML)

We’re backing the CANUCKS (-121). They’re on the “home” end of the home-and-home here after surprising the Oilers Saturday, winning 5-2 behind Tanner Pearson’s four-point effort (two goals, two assists). Edmonton did not have an answer to the Pearson line. Oilers C Connor McDavid recorded his two points (goal and an assist), but the rest of the team was contained.

A $10 bet with Vancouver results in an $8.26 profit with an outright win for the Canucks.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The Canucks (-1.5, +190) against the spread compared to the Oilers (+1.5, -233) is too tough to call when familiarity breeds contempt. Playing the back end the night after usually results in one-goal games more often (also Vancouver has a 5-2-3 record with close games). AVOID.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 5.5 (-154) is worth a small play. Saturday’s game hit the Over on a higher number at 6.5. Sunday presents a more conservative projection, but less of a potential profit. It may be a worthwhile trade-off as a goal drop makes a big difference. Plus, these are two teams that can light the lamp around three goals a night (3.1 and 3.3, respectively).

Placing a $10 bet here will profit $6.49 if there are six or more goals.
