We’re now down to six possible names for Utah’s new NHL team.
After unveiling a roster of 20 possible names last month for a fan vote, six names have emerged as finalists for the relocated franchise (formerly the Arizona Coyotes). Sadly, the Utah Caribou didn’t make the cut.
The six possible names are the Utah Blizzard, Utah Hockey Club (HC), Utah Mammoth, Utah Outlaws, Utah Venom and Utah Yeti.
Fans can vote on these six names through June 20 as the franchise inches closer to finding its forever mascot.
If it were up to us, Utah will either host the Mammoth or the Hockey Club. It’d be amazing to have an NHL team that’s just the Utah Hockey Club, but the Utah Mammoth also sounds pretty cool.
It’d give us an “Ice Age” rivalry between the Mammoth and the Nashville Predators, at least.
NHL Utah name finalists: Blizzard, Yeti, Hockey Club, Mammoth, Outlaws, and Venom.
Voting closes on June 20th. More than 520,000 fans voted in the first survey.
