USC at Michigan picks and predictions

Prediction

USC 24, Michigan 17

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s not great value here. The Wolverines haven’t been good enough, especially against weaker competition, to assume they can beat a surging USC side. Similarly, the Trojans are far too expensive to play.

Against the spread

BET USC -4.5 (-115).

Simply put, USC has covered this season and shown that upside of a top-15 team, and Michigan, even at home, hasn’t. The Trojans ended with 378 passing yards against LSU and have the ability to keep drives alive through the air. Michigan allowed 246 yards through the air to Texas, so it didn’t limit QB Quinn Ewers much. That could be problematic for the home side.

The Wolverines offense has been the main problem, struggling even in games which they were heavily favored. Against their lone ranked foe, they scored 12 points. USC isn’t at the level of Texas, but it is good enough to give Michigan problems.

Take USC -4.5 (-115).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 44 (-110).

The Wolverines are 1-2 O/U and have yet to score more than 30 points. They have allowed 31 to Texas, but have allowed fewer than 20 in both of their other matchups.

USC has an electric offense, but it is 0-2 O/U and put up just 27 points on the Tigers in what was expected to be an ultra-high-scoring battle. Considering the trends for both sides, take UNDER 44 (-110).
