Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik and his medal-winning pommel horse moves are joining Dancing With The Stars

The legend of Pommel Horse Guy lives on.

Someone had the brilliant idea of casting Stephen Nedoroscik in the new season of Dancing with the Stars, and I’m so excited.

To be honest, I’m more than excited. I’m THRILLED. Starting September 17, Stephen and several other dancers, yet to be named, will be moving and grooving all over the dance floor in front of judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough.

Per Good Morning America, Steve is also super pumped about joining the cast and will bring his expert Olympian moves to his routine. He says, “I want to do some flares. I want to bring some of that gymnastics — maybe a backflip or handstand. I want to have fun with it.”

Host George Stephanopoulos asked Steve how he would dance with his medals around his neck. “That’s a good question,” Steve said.” “Dangerously!”

If fans are wondering if he’ll dance the same way he competes — without his glasses — Steve explained that things might have to change.

“I’m scared they’ll fly off is the thing, but you know, maybe we could do a gadget — keep them on. Maybe a new pair of glasses. Match the theme, right?”

I LOVE THIS GUY. GIVE HIM ALL THE THINGS.

The USOPC will appeal Jordan Chiles being stripped of her medal, giving the court a chance to correct an egregious ruling

One last chance to get this right.

No Olympic athlete should be subjected to the emotional roller coaster Jordan Chiles has been on the last few days as the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) considered an appeal of Monday’s floor exercise final and landed on a ruling Sunday that would strip Chiles of her bronze medal.

The court voided the on-floor appeal by Team USA that moved Chiles from fifth to third place and knocked Romania’s Ana Barbosu off the podium, saying it came four seconds after the time allowed for scoring inquiries.

That decision led the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to reallocate the bronze from Chiles to Barbosu, making a bad situation worse by dragging a second gymnasts through the avoidable experience of tasting Olympic success only to be told it was just a fever dream. That medal you won… that unforgettable moment on the podium… it never happened.

But alas, the court has a chance to make it right.

In a statement to USA TODAY Sports’ Christine Brennan, the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) said it will issue its own appeal of the ruling, citing errors in the initial scoring and the appeal process.

The best outcome is one that doesn’t penalize the athletes for the mistakes of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and IOC.

I’m not one for handing out participation trophies for the sake of making everyone happy, but because the judges couldn’t get it right in real time, the only way this can end is with Chiles and Barbosu sharing the bronze. They both have a reason to believe they were the rightful winners. It’s too late to tell either they’re wrong.

In a perfect world, the judges would have scored Chiles’ routine correctly the first time, removing the need for her initial on-floor appeal. Or they would have rejected her appeal for being too late, and there wouldn’t have been the need for the Romanian appeal. Or the IOC would have acknowledged the court’s ruling but not landed on the ridiculous decision to take away a medal Chiles earned.

There were so many opportunities for the people in charge to get this right and end it. Now, they’re getting one last chance, and they better not screw it up.

Simone Biles made a surprising admission to Snoop Dogg about attending Olympic events

Okay, this is pretty surprising.

While taking in some of this year’s track and field events at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Team USA women’s gymnastics superstar Simone Biles shared something absolutely fascinating with Snoop Dogg.

Biles told Snoop Dogg that she’s “never watched any other event before, so this is my first time.” Of course, that surprised the rap legend since Biles is such a monumental figure in Olympics history.

As she’s always been very busy with her gymnastics events, it makes sense that Biles has a busy schedule at any Olympic Games.

However, that this was the first time she’d ever just sat back, relaxed and enjoyed an Olympic sport as a spectator is absolutely wild.

If this really is the last time Biles competes at the Olympics, maybe she’ll have more time in the future to enjoy the Games from the stands.

Simone Biles actually pulled out an iced-out baby goat necklace after winning Olympic gold

A goat for a GOAT. It’s PERFECT.

Yes, Simone Biles actually pulled out an iced-out goat necklace after winning gold in the women’s gymnastics individual all-around.

Last season, someone made Simone Biles a GOAT hat, and I thought that was truly something. But her new chain might have upped the score. Thursday evening, Simone practically had the floor routine of her life to secure another historic gold medal. Right on cue, she pulled out an absolutely sick necklace with a baby goat on the chain.

YES, A BABY GOAT FOR THE LITERAL GOAT. This is my kind of carrying-on. I have so many questions. Who made the necklace? How long has she had it? Did she seemingly always know she would win gold?! WE LOVE TO SEE IT. NOTHING BUT RESPECT FOR THE GOAT.

Simone Biles shared the actual nickname of the 2024 Team USA women’s gymnastics squad, and it’s perfect

Alright, this is pretty perfect.

Team USA women’s gymnastics superstar Simone Biles clarified the actual nickname for the 2024 Paris Olympics squad after revealing a delightfully NSFW nickname on Tuesday.

After Biles called the 2024 American women’s gymnastics roster the “[Expletive] around and find out” squad, Biles shared on Twitter (X) that the team is actually known as the “Golden Girls” because of their collective age and experience.

While the NSFW version is much funnier, the “Golden Girls” is perfectly wholesome, particularly the “Golden” part after the team brought home the gold during Tuesday’s artistic gymnastics women’s team final.

We hope to see some of this “Golden” gymnastics team back in Olympic competition once the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games roll around after its outstanding performance in Paris this week.

Simone Biles seemingly called out former teammate MyKayla Skinner’s criticism after winning gold with Team USA gymnastics

Simone Biles seemed to have some words for a former teammate after taking the gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

After winning yet another Olympic gold medal with Team USA women’s gymnastics on Tuesday, all-star gymnast Simone Biles seemingly called out one of her 2021 Olympic teammates on Instagram.

The comment likely stems from former Team USA gymnastics standout MyKayla Skinner criticizing the new roster of American women’s gymnasts, specifically calling out their perceived lack of talent and work ethic — outside of Biles.

“Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t what it used to be. I mean, obviously, a lot of girls don’t work as hard. The girls just don’t have the work ethic,” Skinner said on a recent YouTube video, per Sporting News.

“A lot of girls don’t work as hard. It’s hard too because of SafeSport. Coaches can’t get on athletes which in some ways is really good but at the same time, to get to where you need to be in gymnastics you do have to be…a little aggressive, a little intense.”

Skinner issued two different apologies for her remarks, saying in part that she was comparing the 2024 Olympic team to the 2021 Olympic team she competed with that was guided by the controversial techniques of gymnastics coach Marta Karolyi.

“Upon reflection, I was comparing the ‘Marta Era’ to the current era. I am coming to terms that I have not fully dealt with the emotional and verbal abuse I endured under Marta that perhaps led to my hurtful comments. I take full responsibility for what I said and deeply apologize,” Skinner wrote on Instagram earlier this month.

Well, Biles still seemed to take Skinner’s comments personally, as she shared a photo of this year’s Olympic team celebrating its gold medals on Instagram with the caption, “lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions.”

Why Team USA Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik tugs on his ear when he’s competing

It’s fine, Steve. We’re not crying. There’s dust in our eyes.

Stephen Nedoroscik has seemingly captured the hearts of America after his stellar bronze medal-winning performance on Monday. Olympic fans might fall in love with him even more after hearing the sweet reason he tugs on his ear while competing.

Steve’s skyrocketing fame recently earned him some airtime on Today, where he wholesomely explained why you might find him tugging on his ear when he’s on TV. The move started back in college and has continued to the Olympic stage in Paris.

Here’s what he shared about what tugging on his ear actually means:

“So, this right here [tugging on ears] is for my dad’s father — my dziadek, that means grandfather in Polish — he passed away last year, unfortunately…”

“His name is Stephen John Nedoroscik, just like me. I’m named after him. And back when I was at Penn State, that was the thing that I did whenever I was on TV to say, ‘Hey, Dziadek.’ So, I’ve kept the tradition up, and now it also means ‘Hey’ to everyone that I love.”

Frederick Richard’s parents had the most joyful reaction to his amazing 2024 Paris Olympics high beam routine

Okay, this absolutely rules.

Team USA men’s gymnastics star Frederick Richard absolutely stunned on the high beam during the 2024 Paris Olympics on Monday, helping his team to the bronze medal in competition.

After he nailed the final mount on his thrilling high beam routine, his parents, Ann-Marie and Carl Richard, had the most delightful reaction in the stands to watching their son thrive on the global stage.

Wouldn’t you be proud if you were Frederick Richard’s parents? Their absolute joy in watching their son crush his Olympic routine is just as wonderful to watch as Richard’s outstanding performance.

As Richard continues to rise as one of the world’s best gymnasts, we’re sure his parents will have plenty more Olympic celebrating to do for their son.

Nedoroscik took to social media right with a very understandable reaction after he and his fellow Team USA men’s gymnasts medaled, America’s first men’s gymnastics win at the Olympics since 2008.

Team USA gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik inspired so many memes after winning an Olympic bronze medal

Shoutout to Steve, man.

Stephen Nedoroscik is an ABSOLUTE DAWG, and as an unofficial card-holding member of the glasses-wearers coalition, I salute him.

It’s been so long since the U.S. won a medal in any team event for men’s gymnastics (Here’s exactly how long it’s been), and to win one during this year’s Paris Games, it was all down to one event: the pommel horse.

The U.S. is not exactly a powerhouse on the pommel, and they needed big performances from Paul Juda and Brody Malone to boost Team USA’s chances of winning a medal before Steve Nedoroscik took the floor. Both Juda and Malone came through with clutch scoring, setting the stage for Steve to go big or go home. AND HE DELIVERED.

His performance — sans glasses — was so good that Olympics fans had a field day. Here’s what they said:
