This fan-made Broncos uniform looks beautiful

Would you be happy if the Broncos made this their new uniform?

We know the Denver Broncos are working on new uniforms, but we don’t know exactly what they’ll look like or when they’re set to arrive.

In the meantime, fans have been left to dream up their own uniform concepts. Here’s a beautiful uniform set created and shared by Tim Contic on his Twitter/X page:

The design looks beautiful, but Broncos Wire has two small quibbles with the alternate options. Denver is expected to continue using a white helmet as an alternate, so that’s accurate, and the team will also likely have a “D” logo throwback uniform. But this concept mockup did not include an alternate blue jersey or an all-orange Color Rush-style alternate.

We expect the Broncos’ next uniform set to at least include a blue alternate, and an updated Color Rush-styled alternate might be in the works as well.

Nothing is certain, though, because Denver has not been forthcoming about the state of the club’s uniform process.

“We’ll be having some things coming there in the future, but nothing to announce today,” Broncos owner/CEO Greg Penner said in January.

The fact that the team’s current uniforms are marked down with big discounts seemingly suggests that new uniforms will arrive in time for the 2024 season, but that’s just speculation. We expect an official announcement form the team in the coming months, perhaps before the NFL draft in April.

Broncos fan creates beautiful uniform concept

We are big fans of this Broncos uniform design by @Mr_Boggins!

Denver Broncos fans and graphic designers have been mocking up uniform concepts for the team for several years now, and the club might be on the verge of taking action.

Broncos fans seem to have a general consensus that a return to the “D” logo with light blue helmets and throwback-style orange jerseys is Denver’s best look, and team president Damani Leech has hinted on Twitter that a reimagined uniform design is in the works.

In the meantime, fans are dreaming up what the new uniforms might look like. Last week, Markus Boggs, the host of the BPA Show who goes by “Mr. Boggins,” shared his concept design on Twitter. First up, a new home uniform:

And an alternate that could work as a road design:

The Broncos have already polled their fans on the future of the team’s uniform, which is likely one of the first steps before making a change.

Denver has not given an exact timeline for when new uniforms could drop, but the club seems unlikely to roll out a new look before the 2024 season.

NFL might change single helmet rule in 2021

If a possible NFL rule change goes through, the Broncos might be allowed to start wearing throwback light blue helmets in 2021.

In an effort to reduce head injuries, the NFL has a rule that players are only allowed to use a single helmet per season. It’s up for debate as to whether or not that rule actually helps limit head injuries.

Because of the rule, teams are limited with their throwback uniform options because an old jersey design might clash with a current helmet design. That might change as early as next season.

“There will be no change for the 2020 season,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told ProFootballTalk.com. “There are ongoing discussions for a potential change for the 2021 season, but no decisions have been made.”

To work around the one helmet rule, the Broncos remove their current logo stickers and replace them with their throwback “D” logo for Color Rush games. The color of the current helmet is much darker than the classic design, though. If the rule is changed in 2021, Denver could start wearing helmets with a light blue design.
