Marc Diakiese (14-3) will look for his third straight victory after a three-bout losing skid from July 7, 2017 to July 22, 2018. The Briton took care of Lando Vannata by way of unanimous decision last time out on the Hermansson-Cannonier card Sept. 28, 2019. While Diakiese has gotten back on track lately, each of his past three bouts have gone the distance, so that’s something to file away. Diakiese – nicknamed “Bonecrusher” – will try to make like James Smith and knock out Fiziev (7-1). Diakiese has posted six KO/TKO in his 17 career fights, and has never been knocked out.

Fiziev, the switch-stance fighter from Kyrgyzstan, is coming off a unanimous decision win over Alex White on Oct. 26, 2019, erasing the bad feelings of a KO/TKO loss in his UFC debut against Magomed Mustafaev on April 20, 2019. Like Diakiese, Fiziev loves the knockout, with five of his seven career wins coming via KO/TKO. The decision against White was a rarity, too, as his first seven professional fights had finishes inside the distance, including 5-1 via KO/TKO and 1-0 by way of submission.

DIAKIESE (-167) is a reasonable play on the 2-way line straight up, and he’ll be able to scratch out a win if he can avoid catching the hands of Fiziev (+140). Diakiese is also the better all-around fighter, and more polished, too. In addition, he isn’t a one-trick pony, as he can brawl toe-to-toe, or can go to the mat and get the finish if need be. He has 2.50 to 0.91 advantage in takedown average, although submissions aren’t the biggest arrow in his quiver.

Looking at the 7-way Method of Victory lines, rolling with DIAKIESE BY DECISION/TECHNICAL DECISON (+125) is worth a roll of the dice, while taking YES (-162): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is also a sound play.

Hermansson (20-5) will tower over Gastelum (16-5) when the two step toe to toe in the octagon Saturday night. The Norwegian middleweight stands 6-foot-1 to just 5-foot-9 for the American. In addition, Hermansson owns a huge 77.5″ to 71.5″ reach advantage, so you can bet Gastelum will be looking to socially distance himself from his lanky counterpart as much as possible.

Hermansson will be looking for his sixth finish at the middleweight division. He ranks sixth in shortest average fight time in his weight class at 8:05. He’ll be looking to toss his weight around, as he checks in at 21:53 in control time, and 27.1 in control-time percentage, whereas Gastelum isn’t even a blip on the radar in those two departments. Hermansson also ranks ninth with a 19.5 top-position percentage.

Where Gastelum has a huge advantage is with his fists in an upright fight. He has recorded six knockdowns landed, or 0.80 per 15 minutes. Hermansson can hold his own in that department, too, however, as he ranks second among active middleweights with 5.13 significant strikes landed per minute, and he is No. 1 overall with a 2.57 striking differential.

Hermansson (-110) does so many different things well, and the height and reach advantage are impressive. However, GASTELUM (-110) is hungry after a two-bout losing skid. He lost a title fight against Israel Adesanya, and followed it up with a disappointing split-decision setback to Darren Till last time out at UFC 244. The southpaw could use a big win to snap him back on track, and he’ll get that with decision victory Saturday. As such, taking GASTELUM ON POINTS (+300) is a particularly attractive prop. You’ll also want to take YES (-118): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE?

Figueiredo (18-1) steps into the octagon one inch taller than Benavidez (28-6), while sporting a three-inch reach advantage (68″ to 65″). Figueiredo also holds tremendous advantages in the significant strikes-accuracy percentage department, 52.50 to 34.32, as well as takedown average, 1.81 to 1.50, takedown accuracy, 50.0 to 30.69 percent, and submission average, 2.36 to 0.63. There’s a reason Figueiredo, who has only lost once in his pro career, is such a strong favorite in this rematch. “Deus Da Guerra” won by KO/TKO (Round 2, 1:54) in the previous meeting with Benavidez on Feb. 29 at Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Va.

In that bout, Benavidez did rain down 46 significant strikes to Figueiredo’s 25, but obviously, the Brazilian landed the ones which counted the most. Benavidez also had 10 leg shots to no attempts to the lower body for Figueiredo, so it will be interesting to see if the American employs that type of attack yet again. The southpaw Benavidez has seen three of his past four bouts finish inside the distance.

Figueiredo (-213) won the first match in Round 2. Betting him on the 2-way line is a bit of a risky proposition, however, so get a little more specific. You can get FIGUEIREDO BY KO/TKO, DQ or SUBMISSION (+100) at even money, which is quite a bit more attractive. Of course, if the fight goes the distance, or Benavidez (+175) pulls the upset, you’ll be on the short end. Still, taking that 5-way line is a better way to minimize your risk.

As far as length of the fight, taking No (-200): Will the fight go the distance? is a bit pricy, too. A better value is taking UNDER 4.5 ROUNDS (-162), and save a little bit of scratch.
