UFC 266: Jessica Andrade vs. Cynthia Calvillo odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC 266 odds and lines between Jessica Andrade vs. Cynthia Calvillo, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a women’s flyweight bout on the main card, Jessica Andrade faces Cynthia Calvillo at UFC 266 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC 266: Andrade vs. Calvillo odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the early prelims at 6 p.m. ET, the prelims start at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+ and the main card at 10 p.m. ET on Pay-Per-View.

Andrade, a.k.a. “Bate Estaca”, is 1-3 across her last four fights at the strawweight and lightweight levels. That’s a bit misleading considering the setbacks were against Zhang Weili in a title fight, Rose Namajunas via split decision and Valentina Shevchenko last time out at UFC 261, also in a title bout.

Five of the last six fights for Andrade have resulted in stoppages, including three victories by way of KO/TKO, and two setbacks via KO/TKO. She hasn’t had a submission win since 2016 when she topped Joanne Calderwood at UFC 203.

For Calvillo, she is coming off a unanimous-decision setback to Katlyn Chookagian Nov. 21 at UFC 255. Each of her last four fights has ended up going the distance.

UFC 266 Andrade vs. Calvillo: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Andrade (21-9-0) | Calvillo (9-2-1)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

I think Andrade (-240) wins this fight, but I’m not willing to bet nearly two and a half times my potential return, and you shouldn’t be either.

Instead, look to ANDRADE BY POINTS (+145) in the method of victory section, as Calvillo usually manages to hang around and let the judges decide her fate. It’s not going to go Calvillo’s way, but she is going to make Andrade work for it.

Over/Under (O/U)

YES (-127): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is the play. In 12 career professional bouts, Calvillo has ended up with just five stoppages. While 21 of Andrade’s 30 career bouts have ended via KO/TKO or submission, I think Calvillo will hang around until the triple zeroes.

UFC 266: Curtis Blaydes vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC 266 odds and lines between Curtis Blaydes vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a heavyweight bout on the main card, Curtis Blaydes faces Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC 266 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC 266: Blaydes vs. Rozenstruik odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the early prelims at 6 p.m. ET, the prelims start at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+ and the main card at 10 p.m. ET on Pay-Per-View.

Blaydes saw his four-bout win streak come crashing down in a second-round KO/TKO loss Feb. 20 to Derrick Lewis in the main event of a fight night card. Win or lose, stoppages are usually sure to follow Blaydes. Three of his last four fights have ended inside the distance, and five of the past seven have finished via KO/TKO (3-2).

Rozenstruik has alternated wins and losses in each of his last four fights, although losses to Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane are nothing to hang one’s head about. He dropped Augusto Sakai in a first-round KO/TKO in the main event June 5, bouncing back from his uneventful unanimous-decision loss to Gane in another main event fight Feb. 27.

UFC 266 Blaydes vs. Rozenstruik: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:15 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Blaydes -340 (bet $340 to win $100) | Rozenstruik +250 (bet $100 to win $250)

UFC 266 Blaydes vs. Rozenstruik: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Blaydes (14-3-0) | Rozenstruik (12-2-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

A win by Blaydes (-340) straight up on the 2-way line is just too expensive, as you can’t risk nearly three and a half times your potential return. There is just no value there.

Instead, I am feeling BLAYDES BY TKO/KO (+110) on the method of victory instead. He has never had a submission win or loss, so no sense in looking in that direction.

Over/Under (O/U)

NO (-190): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is the play, since I like Blaydes for the knockout win. In addition, I like UNDER 1.5 ROUNDS (+135) at plus-money.

Rozenstruik was knocked out in just 20 seconds at UFC 249, and in his six KO/TKO wins at the UFC level, he has won three times in Round 1. Regardless of which way this goes, it is going to be quick.

UFC 266: Nick Diaz vs. Robbie Lawler odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC 266 odds and lines between Nick Diaz vs. Robbie Lawler, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a welterweight bout on the main card, Nick Diaz faces Robbie Lawler at UFC 266 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC 266: Diaz vs. Lawler odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the early prelims at 6 p.m. ET, the prelims start at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+ and the main card at 10 p.m. ET on Pay-Per-View.

“Ruthless” Robbie Lawler has dropped four consecutive fights, including three by unanimous-decision and one submission loss to Ben Askren, who is now fighting YouTubers. Lawler’s last victory came in July 2017 against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at UFC 214. Yeah, it’s been a while.

Speaking of “been a while”, Diaz last fought Jan. 31, 2015, when he faced Anderson Silva in a no-contest at UFC 183. The 38-year-old fighter, who beat Lawler via KO/TKO at UFC 47 in 2004, was suspended in 2015 for testing positive for traces of marijuana. He was eligible to return after a year and a half but chose to stay away.

UFC 266 Diaz vs. Lawler: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 8:45 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Diaz +130 (bet $100 to win $130) | Lawler -165 (bet $165 to win $100)
  • Over/Under: 3.5 rounds (Over -170 | Under +122)
  • Will the fight go the distance? (Yes -140 | No +102)

UFC 266 Diaz vs. Lawler: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Diaz (26-9-0) | Lawler (28-15-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

LAWLER (-165) is the play here, even though that four-bout losing streak sticks out. Still, he is fighting a guy who hasn’t taken the walk to the octagon in six years, and there are reports Diaz wasn’t terribly interested in returning, but here he is.

I am a little concerned about the cardio of Diaz after such a long layoff, and even though it’s been 17 years since they previously met you know Lawler wants to even the score.

Over/Under (O/U)

NO (+102): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is the play, as I just don’t see Diaz being able to go five rounds in his return. Yes, Lawler has seen four of his past five fights go the distance, but those bouts weren’t against an aging fighter coming back after a lengthy hiatus.

In addition, playing UNDER 3.5 ROUNDS (+122) seems like a pretty strong value, too. If you want to get specific on the method of victory, playing LAWLER BY TKO/KO (+205) for a chance to double up is also worth a light bet.

UFC 266: Valentina Shevchenko vs. Lauren Murphy odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC 266 odds and lines between Valentina Shevchenko vs. Lauren Murphy, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a women’s flyweight title bout on the main card, Valentina Shevchenko faces Lauren Murphy at UFC 266 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC 266: Shevchenko vs. Murphy odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the early prelims at 6 p.m. ET, the prelims start at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+ and the main card at 10 p.m. ET on Pay-Per-View.

Shevchenko, the overwhelming favorite, won her strap Dec. 8, 2018, with a unanimous-decision victory over Joanna Jedrzejczyk, and has five successful title defenses since. The last came April 24 at UFC 261 in a Round 2 KO/TKO over Jessica Andrade.

Shevchenko has won three of her title defenses via KO/TKO, and two by way of unanimous-decision. Five of her last nine fights have ended inside the distance.

Murphy holds a 3.95-to-3.02 significant strikes landed per minute advantage over the southpaw Shevchenko. However, the champ has a 67.74 significant strikes accuracy percentage to just 52.32 for Murphy, and her ground game is much better, too. Shevchenko holds a 2.64-to-1.16 takedown average and a 0.38-to-0.10 submission average.

Murphy enters on a five-bout win streak, last easing past Joanne Calderwood by split decision June 12 at UFC 263. Three of her last four fights went the distance, so she knows how to hang around.

UFC 266 Shevchenko vs. Murphy: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 8:21 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Shevchenko -1800 (bet $1,800 to win $100) | Murphy +770 (bet $100 to win $770)
  • Over/Under: 2.5 rounds (Over -130 | Under -105)
  • Will the fight go the distance? (Yes +190 | No -280)

UFC 266 Shevchenko vs. Murphy: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Shevchenko (21-3-0) | Murphy (15-4-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

There is no way to justify playing such a heavy favorite like Shevchenko (-1800) straight up on the money line. Even in a parlay with several other plays, a winning ticket’s value would be dropped dramatically by including Shevchenko.

While the champ isn’t going down to Murphy, you have to get creative. Look to SHEVCHENKO BY TKO/KO (-127) for much better value. Yes, if she wins on points or by submission you’re out of luck, but three of her previous five title defenses have ended in KO/TKO wins. That’s your best bet.

Over/Under (O/U)

No (-270): Will the fight go the distance? is a little too expensive for my liking. Instead, I prefer a two-round block.

Take SHEVCHENKO IN ROUND 3 (+650) and SHEVCHENKO IN ROUND 4 (+1000). If the champ wins in Rounds 3-4, you lose one end, but you’ll still be well ahead.

In addition, playing OVER 2.5 ROUNDS (-130) is worth a look. Shevchenko is going to win, but Murphy is no pushover. She’ll make the champ work for it before her hand is raised.

UFC 266: Alexander Volkanovski vs. Brian Ortega odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC 266 odds and lines between Alexander Volkanovski vs. Brian Ortega, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a featherweight title bout in the main event, Alexander Volkanovski faces Brian Ortega at UFC 266 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC 266: Volkanovski vs. Ortega odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the early prelims at 6 p.m. ET, the prelims start at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+ and the main card at 10 p.m. ET on Pay-Per-View.

Volkanovski has a two-inch reach advantage, although he gives up two inches in height to the American.

The Aussie champ picked up the strap with a unanimous-decision victory over Max Holloway at UFC 245, and defended the belt July 11, 2020, in a rematch at UFC 251. He suffered a broken left hand in that tilt and he has been sidelined since.

Ortega had a shot at the belt against Holloway at UFC 231 in December 2018 but bowed out due to TKO – Doctor’s Stoppage. He missed all of 2019, and most of 2020, after surgery to repair a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament. He returned Oct. 17, 2020, with a unanimous-decision win over Chan Sung Jang, a.k.a. “The Korean Zombie”, in a main event fight that set him up for this title shot.

UFC 266 Volkanovski vs. Ortega: Odds and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:52 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Volkanovski -200 (bet $200 to win $100) | Ortega +150 (bet $100 to win $150)
  • Over/Under: 4.5 rounds (Over -133 | Under -103)

UFC 266 Volkanovski vs. Ortega: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Volkanovski (22-1-0) | Ortega (15-1-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

If the fight between these two is half as exciting as the war of words prior to the title bout we’re in for a treat.

VOLKANOVSKI (-200) is worth playing straight up, even though he is a bit on the expensive side. However, he has brought the heat leading up to this fight, lambasting Ortega for his previous steroid suspension. He will be doing everything in his power to rub Ortega out early.

There is no love between these two, and the challenger will also be doing everything in his power to dump the Aussie and take his belt.

This has fight of the night potential, as it should be as the main event.

Over/Under (O/U)

I think this fight goes the distance, and YES (-145): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is a great play.

Volkanovski has ended up going the distance in each of his last three fights, and six of his previous eight bouts. Ortega’s last fight against The Korean Zombie also went the distance.

I also like VOLKANOVSKI ON POINTS (+133) as a result.
