The NFL Draft is under a month away. As a result, everyone is giving their two cents on which players will land where.
For UCLA’s Laiatu Latu, according to the latest CBS Sports mock draft by Josh Edwards, he will land with the Arizona Cardinals. At 23 overall, Edwards has Latu teaming up with Florida State edge Jared Verse to create a rookie tandem along the defensive line.
Here’s what Edwards wrote:
Do I realize that I have already given Jared Verse to Arizona? Yes. Was it a mistake to give them Laiatu Latu and Verse? No. The Cardinals now have some talent and juice on the defensive line.
Verse, who was selected at 11 overall in the mock, rivals Latu as the other top-rated defensive edge with Alabama’s Dallas Turner. While Latu is the third selected in this mock, who goes where in the first round looks like a toss-up.
Pair Latu and Verse along the defensive line for the Cardinals could be the start of a great defense in Arizona. Able to apply pressure from both sides, the Cardinals would have two versatile players on the edge, both able to generate turnovers and get to the quarterback at will.
