The UCLA Bruins (1-3, 0-2 Big Ten) pay a visit to the 7th-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions (4-0, 1-0) Saturday. Kickoff from Beaver Stadium is set for noon ET (FOX). Below, we look at UCLA vs. Penn State odds from BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds before making our expert college football picks and predictions later in the week.

UCLA was dominated 34-13 by the then-No. 7, now-No. 6 Oregon Ducks Saturday but covered as a 23.5-point home underdog. UCLA gained only 172 total yards and turned the ball over twice in the loss. The Bruins have lost 3 in a row and have allowed 34 or more points in each of those losses.

Penn State defeated the then-No. 21, now-No. 25 Illinois Fighting Illini 21-7 at home Saturday, failing to cover as a 19-point favorite. The Nittany Lions dominated on the ground, totaling 241 rushing yards with 3 TDs in the win. Penn State has allowed just 7 points in the last 2 weeks.

Looking at Saturday’s Oregon at UCLA college football odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 7 Oregon Ducks (3-0) travel to Pasadena to face the UCLA Bruins (1-2) at the Rose Bowl Saturday. Kickoff is 11 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we look at Oregon vs. UCLA odds from BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds before making our expert college football picks and predictions later in the week.

Oregon dominated the “Civil War” on Saturday against the Oregon State Beavers, cruising to a 49-14 victory over their former conference rival. The Ducks’ offense was firing on all cylinders, piling up 546 total yards.

Heisman hopeful QB Dillon Gabriel was nearly flawless, completing 20 of 24 passes for 291 yards and 2 TDs, with 110 of those yards going to WR Tez Johnson. RB Jordan James chipped in with 86 rushing yards and 2 scores.

UCLA couldn’t get it done in Death Valley, losing 34-17 to LSU. Two costly turnovers and a nonexistent run game (only 14 rushing yards total) were their undoing. QB Ethan Garbers put up 281 yards and 2 TDs while connecting with 9 receivers, but his solid performance wasn’t enough to keep up with the Tigers.

Sweet 16 first look: Gonzaga vs. UCLA odds, lines and trends

Looking at Thursday’s Gonzaga vs. UCLA Sweet 16 odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The 3rd-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs (30-5) meet the No. 2  UCLA Bruins (31-5) on Thursday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Tip is scheduled for approximately 9:45 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at Gonzaga vs. UCLA odds from Tipico Sportsbook. Plus, check out our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

Gonzaga did the “survive and advance” thing, picking up an 84-81 win over TCU in the second round. It also topped Grand Canyon by an 82-70 score in the opening game, but it is 0-2 against the spread (ATS) so far, while hitting the Under in 3 of 4 games in the postseason. The Over (153) cashed against TCU to snap a 3-0 Under run.

In that win over the Horned Frogs, Gonzaga’s Hunter Sallis hit 2 free throws with 0.7 seconds left to go up 84-78, appearing to grab a cover as 4.5-point favorites at most shops. However, TCU rolled the ball to half-court, and Damion Baugh heaved a desperation 3-pointer from NBA range which went in before the buzzer for the bad beat, or really, the double bad beat.

UCLA throttled UNC Asheville of the Big South Conference in the opening round 86-53, scoring a 17.5-point number as the Over 136.5 cashed. It faced a much bigger challenge against Northwestern in the second round, winning 68-63, although the Wildcats hung on for the cover as 7.5-point underdogs.

Gonzaga vs. UCLA head-to-head

The last time these teams met, on Nov. 23, 2021, also happened to be at T-Mobile Arena. Gonzaga came away with an impressive 83-63 victory, as current Bulldogs Drew Timme scored 18 points with 8 rebounds, and Julian Strawther posted 12 points with 9 boards.

The teams also met in the Final Four in Indianapolis on April 3, 2021, a 93-90 win in favor of Gonzaga, ending a Cinderella run by UCLA that season as an 11-seed in front of a partial capacity crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

[pickup_prop id=”32597″]

UCLA’s last win in the series came on Dec. 12, 2015, in Spokane, a 71-66 victory. The Bulldogs have won 4 of the last 5 meetings since 2014.

This is their 3rd meeting in the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs won 74-62 in the South Region semifinal in 2015 at NRG Stadium in Houston, while UCLA won a thrilling 73-71 game against Gonzaga in 2006 in Oakland in the second round.

Southern Cal and Cal-Los Angeles first met on the gridiron in 1929. USC won the first 2 meetings in shutout fashion, and the Trojans lead the all-time series 49-33-7.

The USC lead includes taking 5 of the last 7 games. But not last year’s (Nov. 20): the Bruins tallied their most points in series history, as they drubbed the Trojans 62-33. Last year’s Over (66.5) cashed easily and has been a winner in 4 straight USC-UCLA games.

First look: UCLA at Oregon odds and lines

Looking at Saturday’s UCLA Bruins at Oregon Ducks college football odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The No. 10 UCLA Bruins (6-0, 3-0 Pac-12) visit Eugene to face the 9th-ranked Oregon Ducks (5-1, 3-0) Saturday at Autzen Stadium. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we look at UCLA vs. Oregon odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our college football picks and predictions.

Both Oregon and UCLA are playing at an extremely high caliber. The only blemish between either team is the 49-3 loss suffered by the Ducks in their opener against the Georgia Bulldogs Sept. 3. Oregon has beaten everyone in its path since, including Saturday’s 49-22 victory against Arizona in Tucson.

UCLA, which is coming off a bye, is one of the more surprising teams this season as coach Chip Kelly has the Bruins playing at a playoff level. QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson has been wonderful so far. He threw for 299 yards with 4 TDs on 18-for-23 pass attempts 2 weeks ago in a 42-32 home victory vs. then-No. 11 Utah.

UCLA vs. Oregon head-to-head

The Ducks and Bruins have played 3 times since 2018. Oregon has won all the games and have scored a minimum of 34 points in each game.

The most recent 2 games in the series, in 2019 and 2021 were 1-score games with Oregon winning by 4 and 3 points, respectively. Under new coach Dan Lanning, Oregon has been able to continue its offensive output while also strengthening the defense. UCLA’s offense has produced and outscored opponents despite the limitations of the defense.

These teams are 9-3 O/U combined this season. While the 70.5 number is high, it is in the realm of what to expect from this battle between the top 2 teams in the Pac-12.
