Auburn extends offer to 2026 Tennessee commit

Auburn is the latest to offer the talented defensive lineman from Hoover High School.

Auburn football is the latest SEC program to extend an offer to a talented defensive lineman from Hoover High School.

[autotag]Tyson Bacon[/autotag], a three-star defensive lineman and Tennessee commitment, shared this week that he has received an offer from Auburn. [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and the Auburn Tigers are one of four programs to offer the talented defensive lineman since the calendar flipped to 2025.

Tennessee has recruited Bacon the hardest and longest, with efforts dating back to Nov. 18, 2023, when he made his first official visit to Knoxville. Because of this, Bacon has rewarded Josh Heupel’s program by giving him his pledge.

Still, that has not stopped several of the SEC’s top programs, including Auburn, from trying to flip his commitment. Ole Miss, Alabama, Missouri, and West Virginia join Auburn in trying to sway him away from Rocky Top.

Bacon logged 44 tackles as an 11th grader at Hoover High School in 2024 with six tackles for loss, a sack, and 11 quarterback hurries. His efforts helped lead Hoover to a semi-final appearance in the AHSAA Class 7A playoffs. He is the No. 17 recruit from Alabama for the 2026 cycle and is the No. 52 overall defensive lineman according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Wisconsin football offers promising class of 2026 defensive end

Wisconsin football offers promising class of 2026 defensive end

The Wisconsin Badgers extended an offer to fast-rising class of 2026 defensive end Tyson Bacon on Tuesday.

Bacon becomes the latest defensive fixture to receive a collegiate offer from Wisconsin, joining the Badgers’ recent offer to class of 2026 defensive lineman Damari Simeon.

Despite being a junior, Bacon already boasts a list of offers at this stage of his recruiting process. The impressive list includes Arkansas State, Georgia Tech, Jacksonville State, LSU, Tennessee, Troy, UAB, Washington and Wisconsin, per Rivals.

247Sports currently ranks the 6’4,” 240-pound lineman as the No. 58 player at his position and No. 18 prospect from Alabama.

As a three-sport athlete, Bacon presents quite the matchup problem for opposing linemen. He’s been noted to line up at both the edge and interior positions on the defensive line, illustrating his dexterity as a defensive game-wrecker at the high school level.

On3’s recruiting prediction machine has Tennessee (75.9%) as Bacon’s most likely destination thus far with Georgia Tech (6.0%), UAB (5.2%) and Mississippi State (4.3%) listed afterwards.

Wisconsin currently has one player committed to its class of 2026: three-star quarterback Jarrin Mock.
