Former MSU basketball PG Lourawls Nairn Jr. heading to Bowling Green as assistant coach

Lourawls ‘Tum-Tum’ Nairn is moving up the coaching ranks:

Lourawls ‘Tum Tum’ Nairn was known as a fan favorite point guard during his time donning the green and white. Now, fans can cheer for him as he climbs the coaching ranks.

Following his time playing, Nairn caught on with MSU as a graduate assistant, which he used to get an assistant coaching job with Southern Utah University.

When Southern Utah head coach Todd Simon took the job at Bowling Green, he called Nairn to come with him, which Nairn accepted.

Tum Tum Nairn is being given an opportunity to coach at the collegiate level

Tum Tum Nairn’s name was thrown around when Michigan State had an assistant coach vacancy, but he wasn’t chosen for the job. Nairn, a standout guard and captain at Michigan State from 2015-2018, is building a nice start to a coaching career. Fresh out of college, Nairn joined the Phoenix Suns in a player development role. He parlayed that into a role with Sunrise Christian Academy, one of the premiere schools in high school basketball.

Now, Nairn has been given an opportunity to coach at the collegiate level. Southern Utah head coach Todd Simon is hiring Nairn as an assistant coach on his staff.

Southern Utah competes in the Western Athletic Conference.
