The No. 3 Houston Cougars (12-1, 0-0 AAC) and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (4-7, 0-0) meet Wednesday at Donald W. Reynolds Center in Tulsa. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET (ESPNU). Rankings courtesy of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

The Cougars have rebounded from their loss at the Fertitta Center against Alabama by rattling off 3 straight wins. Houston has also covered the past 2 games at Virginia and vs. McNeese. The Under is 4-1-1 in its last 6 games and 8-2-1 in its previous 11.

The Golden Hurricane are in freefall lately, winning just 2 of their last 8 games. Tulsa has failed to cover each of the past 8 outings while cashing the Under in 7 straight contests.

Houston at Tulsa picks and predictions

Prediction

Houston 78, Tulsa 54

Moneyline

PASS.

There was no money line available at the time of publishing, but it wouldn’t be worth pursuing anyway.

Against the spread

HOUSTON -20.5 (-105) should be able to take advantage of an awful Tulsa defense to run away with this game. And the Golden Hurricane will have difficulty solving the nation’s top-scoring defense.

The Cougars are 7-1 ATS as a favorite of 20 or more points, and the Golden Hurricane are 0-2 ATS in 2 games this season as an underdog of 8 or more points.

Over/Under

UNDER 133.5 (-110) is the play.

The Under has hit in 7 straight for the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa has struggled offensively, going for just 69.0 PPG. While the Golden Hurricane aren’t terribly great defensively, they have held the opposition to just 26.2% from behind the 3-point line, ranking 6th in the country.

The Cougars are decent on offense, but not great. This team is ranked so highly due to its suffocating defense. Houston is 1st in the nation with just 49.8 PPG allowed, and it is limiting the opposition to 32.7% from the field, also the best in the nation.

Tulane at Tulsa odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Tulane at Tulsa odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 21 Tulane Green Wave (7-1, 4-0 American) travel to Oklahoma for a battle with the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (3-5, 1-3) Saturday. Kickoff from Chapman Stadium is set for noon ET (ESPNU). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Tulane vs. Tulsa odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Rankings courtesy of the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Tulane comes into this game as the highest-ranked Group of 5 team at No. 19 in the College Football Playoff rankings. The Green Wave will need to take Tulsa seriously and not fall into a trap game before its big showdown with No. 25 UCF in 2 weeks.

At this point in the season, Tulsa is looking to play spoiler and the first chance it will have is at home Saturday.

Tulane has made it difficult on itself since entering conference play. In 4 non-conference games, the Green Wave gave up an average of 11.8 points per game. In conference play, this number has nearly doubled to 22 points per game. Tulsa averages 25.8 points in conference play and with this game being played in Oklahoma, it will look to put even more on the board and pull off the upset.

Tulane at Tulsa picks and predictions

Prediction

Tulane 31, Tulsa 27

Moneyline

PASS on the moneyline.

There is too much juice on one side and not enough value on the other to feel comfortable either way in this game.

Against the spread

BET TULSA +7.5 (-115).

Tulane has averaged an 8.4-point margin of victory in conference play, but with this game being on a road and perhaps a bit of a trap game it looks to be a closer contest.

Tulsa will hope the Green Wave are looking ahead to their showdown with UCF next week and catch them napping. Tulane will start slowing in this one and hang on for the victory. I like TULSA +7.5 (-115) as my favorite play in this game.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 57 (-112).

If Tulsa does come out and go up early as expected, Tulane will be forced to push for a comeback. They should be able to do so as the better team, and this will mean putting points on the board.

The Green Wave can score and are averaging 33.7 points per game in conference play. But giving up only 23 points per game, I do not see Tulsa getting to 30. This game is going to be close to this total, but I do lean slightly to the OVER 57 (-112).

Cincinnati Bearcats at Tulsa Golden Hurricane odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Cincinnati at Tulsa odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Cincinnati Bearcats (3-1) head to Oklahoma to take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (2-2) Saturday. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Cincinnati vs. Tulsa odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Bearcats beat Indiana 45-24 last week at home. QB Ben Bryant had only 1 interception to go along with 4 touchdowns and 354 yards passing on 24-of-40 attempts. His top receiver was WR Tyler Scott, who caught 10 passes for 185 yards are 3 TDs; the Hoosiers had no answer for Scott. WR Tre Tucker also had a big day catching 5 receptions for 92 yards. In total, 7 Bearcats had at least 1 reception. UC struggled to get their ground game going, with RB Corey Kiner carrying the ball 14 times for only 17 yards, but he did tack on a TD. The Bearcats defense stepped up and forced 3 turnovers (2 INT, 1 FUM), which ultimately propelled the Bearcats to victory. Cincinnati is on a 3-game win streak and will look to extend it on the road Saturday.

Tulsa is coming off a 35-27 loss to then-ranked No. 13 Ole Miss. The Golden Hurricane were up 14-7 after the 1st quarter, but could not recover after giving up 28 points in the 2nd, even though they did not give up any points in the second half. The Tulsa quarterbacking was split between QB Braylon Braxton (83 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) and QB Davis Brin (112, 1, 0). WR Isaiah Epps was the top receiver (4/62/2), but WR J.C. Santana (4/55/0) was a critical part of the Golden Hurricane offense as well. Tulsa found success on the ground with 3 rushers accumulating more than 65 yards each with RB Bill Jackson (8/77) leading the way.

Cincinnati at Tulsa picks and predictions

Prediction

Cincinnati 41, Tulsa 21

Money line

PASS. The -380 Cincinnati ML does not bring the rewards for the risk involved.

Against the spread

Lean CINCINNATI -10.5 (-105). This game will be a big tell for the rest of the Bearcats season. It is never easy to win on the road, but if UC hopes to break back into the Top 25, this is a must-win. Behind Bryant, their offense should prove to be too much for Tulsa’s defense while the Bearcat defense will be too much to handle for the Golden Hurricane offense.

Bearcats are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. Furthermore, the road team is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings between the two schools.

Over/Under

Take the OVER 58.5 (-110). Both teams are capable of putting up big offensive numbers, and that is what is expected for Saturday. Bryant and UC’s offense should start rolling early against the Golden Hurricane defense which should lead towards the Over hitting.

The Over is 3-0-1 in the Bearcats last 4 games overall as well as 3-0-1 in their last 4 games on turf. For Tulsa, the trend is similar with the Over being 4-0 in their last 4 games on turf. The Over is also 5-1 in the last 6 Golden Hurricane games played in October.

Myrtle Beach Bowl: Old Dominion vs. Tulsa odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Monday’s Old Dominion vs. Tulsa odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Old Dominion Monarchs (6-6) take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (6-6) Monday in the Myrtle Beach Bowl presented by TaxAct at Brooks Stadium in Conway, S.C. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we look at the Old Dominion vs. Tulsa odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

The Monarchs started the season 1-6 SU, and in mid-October there appeared to be no way this team would become bowl eligible. But ODU went on a 5-0 SU/ATS run since Oct. 30, qualifying for the postseason.

The Golden Hurricane also got hot down the stretch, including a 34-31 win at SMU as 6.5-point underdogs in the regular-season finale to gain bowl eligibility. Tulsa finished on a three-game win streak, while going 4-0 ATS in the final four outings.

Old Dominion vs. Tulsa odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Tulsa 27, Old Dominion 23

Money line

Tulsa (-350) will cost three-and-a-half times your potential return, which is rather risky. While I believe the Golden Hurricane do enough to get the win here, WR Sam Crawford Jr., the team’s third-leading receiver has entered the transfer portal, and the team has also had some assistant coaches take new jobs. So there is some upheaval for the Golden Hurricane.

AVOID.

Against the spread

OLD DOMINION +8.5 (-108) has been red-hot against the number, and the Monarchs should see quite a few more supporters in this game with a short trip from Norfolk, Va., to Myrtle Beach, S.C. ODU is also 8-3 ATS in its past 11 non-conference tilts, while covering five straight games overall.

Over/Under

The UNDER 52.5 (-108) is worth a small-unit play in this matinee game Monday.

The Under has cashed in seven of the past nine neutral-site games for Tulsa, while going 7-3 in its past 10 bowl games. The Under is 5-2 in ODU’s past seven games overall, while going 5-0 in the past five as an underdog, too.

Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Cincinnati Bearcats odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Cincinnati Bearcats odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane (3-5, 2-2 AAC) and No. 2 Cincinnati Bearcats (8-0, 4-0) meet Saturday at Nippert Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Tulsa vs. Cincinnati odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings according to the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

The Golden Hurricane saw its modest two-game win streak snapped last week at home against Navy, 20-17. Tulsa is now just 1-4 ATS across the past five games overall, with the Over going 5-1 in the previous six outings.

The Bearcats opened the season No. 6 in the College Football Playoff rankings, a record for a Group of 5 institution. But UC still has work to do if it wishes to break into the College Football Playoff at the season’s end. A thrashing of Tulsa would certainly help while a close win could be damaging.

Tulsa at Cincinnati odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Cincinnati 35, Tulsa 14

Money line

Cincinnati (-1800) will cost you 18 times your potential return, or just a $5 return on a $100 wager. There is no just value there, and it’s a poor long-term betting strategy.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

TULSA +23.5 (-112) has already made one trip into the Buckeye state, and it suffered a 41-20 loss to Ohio State as 24.5-point underdogs for the cover and Over result.

The Golden Hurricane are just 1-4 ATS in five games since, although Tulsa has won three of those outings outright. The Golden Hurricane have managed 436.6 total yards per game to rank 39th, and their primary way to move the ball is through the air.

Cincinnati -23.5 (-108) opened 5-1 ATS in the first six outings, but they have averaged just 29.0 PPG while allowing 16.0 PPG across the past two contests, coming nowhere near covering.

Over/Under

UNDER 55.5 (-115) is the lean here. The Under has cashed in the past two for UC. The defense for Tulsa has been awful all season, with the Over 5-1 in the previous six.

However, it did a great job shutting down Navy’s tricky triple-option rushing attack last week, yielding a season-low of 20 points against any FBS opponent.

Navy at Tulsa odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Friday’s Navy Midshipmen at Tulsa Golden Hurricane odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Navy Midshipmen (1-6, 1-4 AAC) travel to meet the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (3-4, 2-1) Friday at Chapman Stadium in Tulsa, Okla. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Navy vs. Tulsa odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

The Middies put up a tremendous fight against No. 2 Cincinnati last week in Annapolis, falling just 27-20 as 28.5-point underdogs. While Navy has dropped three straight, they’re 4-1 against the spread across the past five outings. The Under is also a perfect 3-0 in the past three for the Midshipmen.

The Golden Hurricane have won back-to-back games for the first time this season, averaging 33.5 points in the two victories. Tulsa’s defense has been the reason for the team’s struggles, allowing at least 28 points in each of the past six. The Over is 5-0-1 during the span.

Rankings according to the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Navy at Tulsa odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Tulsa 29, Navy 19

Money line

Tulsa (-450) will cost you 4.5 times your possible winnings. That’s just too steep for a team under .500.

AVOID.

Against the spread

NAVY +10.5 (-108) is a decent play on the road. The Middies are still a run-first team, but they’re just a tick off from past year’s production. Navy averages 212.9 yards per game but just 280.3 total yards per outing overall, good for 127th out of 130 FBS teams. It averages just 17.9 points per game, too.

As for trends, the road team is 7-1 ATS in the previous eight meetings, and the Middies are 4-0 ATS in the past four trips to Tulsa.

Over/Under

OVER 47.5 (-103) is the lean, cashing in five straight for the Golden Hurricane. The Over is also 4-0 in Tulsa’s past four as a favorite, and 4-0 in the past four league outings.

For Navy, the Over has hit in six of the past eight as a road underdog, while going 8-3 in its past 11 against teams with a losing overall record.

Houston at Tulsa odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Friday’s Houston at Tulsa odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Houston Cougars (3-1, 1-0 AAC) and Tulsa Golden Hurricane (1-3, 0-0) meet Friday at Chapman Stadium in Tulsa, Okla. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Houston vs. Tulsa odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Houston opened the season with a 38-21 loss against Texas Tech Sept. 4 in a neutral-site affair, but it has rattled off three straight wins while going 2-1 ATS. The Cougars rank fifth nationally in total yards allowed (247.5) and are third in passing yards allowed (116.0).

Tulsa finally earned its first win in four tries, topping Arkansas State 41-34 Saturday. The Golden Hurrricane have struggled defensively, coughing up 28 or more points in each of the three games vs. FBS teams, with the Over 2-0-1 going in those affairs.

Rankings according to the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Houston at Tulsa odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Houston 27, Tulsa 24

Money line

HOUSTON (+135) is a solid value on the road at plus money. Houston enters on a three-game win streak and will be stout enough defensively to shut down a pretty strong Tulsa side.

Remember, this is the same Tulsa team that lost to FCS UC Davis back in its opening game, and is a side with just one win in four tries. The Golden Hurricane has no business being favored over a team they have beaten just once in the last six meetings.

Against the spread

HOUSTON +3.5 (-122) is worth playing with the points if you don’t care for them straight up.

The Cougars are 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 as road underdogs, and the Golden Hurricane are 3-10 ATS across their last 13 as home favorites. In addition, the road team has cashed in eight of the last nine in this series.

Stream college football games on ESPN+ by signing up here.

Over/Under

UNDER 54.5 (-112) is the lean, but go lightly in this one.

It’s all about defense for the Cougs. They’re allowing just 16.3 PPG (24th nationally), and they will be able to hold down the high-flying Golden Hurricane pass attack.

Also, the Under has cashed four of the last five times these teams have met, and four straight battles in Tulsa.

Tulsa at Oklahoma State odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Tulsa at Oklahoma State odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane (0-1) and Oklahoma State Cowboys (1-0) meet Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Okla. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET. Below, we look at the Tulsa vs. Oklahoma State odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Tulsa is reeling after a 19-17 setback to FCS UC Davis last week at home. The Golden Hurricane outgained the Aggies 448 to 399 in total yards, but they were sacked three times and lost the turnover margin. Tulsa was rather undisciplined, too, taking 12 penalties for 122 yards.

Oklahoma State was a little on the sluggish side against its FCS foe Missouri State. It all started fine for the Cowboys, as they fired out to a 20-0 lead, but MO State, a ranked FCS team, made it a one-score game with 3:06 to go, putting a scare into OK State before acquiescing, 23-16.

Tulsa at Oklahoma State odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Oklahoma State 31, Tulsa 13

Oklahoma State (-540) got off to a bit of a sluggish start in the post-RB Chuba Hubbard era, as the offense was a bit in disarray. QB Spencer Sanders was sidelined due to a COVID-19 issue, so Shane Illingworth was under center. He threw for 315 yards and WR Tay Martin stepped up with 107 receiving yards.

The offense will be fine, especially with Sanders returning Saturday.

Tulsa (+380) had its hands full against an FCS team and lost outright, so the Hurricane aren’t going to the Boone and dumping a Power 5 side. Still, risking more than five times your potential return is not a good long-term betting strategy.

AVOID.

Against the spread

The play here is OKLAHOMA STATE -12.5 (-112), and the books are giving you a gift based on the second-half play of the Cowboys last week.

I’ll boldly say I think MO State is actually better than Tulsa, despite the latter’s FBS standing. Take advantage, and hammer the Cowboys for the win by at least two touchdowns.

Over/Under

UNDER 51.5 (-115) is the play. Tulsa put up plenty of yards last week but bogged down in the red zone and on third down. In fact, the Golden Hurricane were just 2-for-10 on third down in the loss to UCD.

Oklahoma State scored just 3 points in the final 40:57 against Missouri State and could be missing Sanders again. Illingworth did OK, but he isn’t Sanders. All signs are pointing to an Under result, which is the side of the total each of these teams hit last weekend.

Tulsa at Cincinnati: Three things to know

  1. Tulsa fell 16-7 at Oklahoma State in its regular-season opener Sept. 19, and many were asking what’s wrong with the Cowboys. Instead, people should have been asking what’s right with the Golden Hurricane. They have rattled off six straight wins to get to Cincinnati, and they’re 6-1 ATS in seven games this season.
  2. The Golden Hurricane are sufficient on offense, posting 411.3 total yards per game to rank 54th in the country, with 27.7 points per game to rank 70th. Defensively is where they’re strongest, limiting the opposition to 183.4 passing yards per game (15th in the nation), 328.4 total yards per game (20th) and 19.9 PPG (21st).
  3. Cincinnati has been off since Nov. 21, a narrow 36-33 win at UCF. It was a rare non-cover for the Bearcats, as they are 5-3 ATS overall this season. Cincinnati has scored 36 or more points in each of its past five outings. The Bearcats are a strong defensive team, too, yielding just 308.1 total yards per game (9th), 195.6 passing yards (23rd), 112.5 rushing yards (17th) and 15.0 PPG (5th).

Tulsa at Cincinnati: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Cincinnati 24, Tulsa 17

Money line (ML)

Cincinnati (-715) is a heavy favorite, and that’s not a good way to spend your money. Yes, it’s at home, but Tulsa has had a knack of finding ways to win, even when it looks like it shouldn’t. Look to the spread instead.

AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

TULSA +14.5 (-110) is the best play on the board in this AAC title game. The Golden Hurricane have cashed in three straight, and six of the past seven, including all four of its games on the road. It has been a theme for the Golden Hurricane over the years, as they’re 26-10 ATS in the past 36 on the road, and 20-7 ATS in the past 27 against winning teams.

This will be a bit of a defensive battle, and the ‘Cane will easily hang within two scores.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 45.5 (-110) is a good play in this title game, as both of these teams bring a lot of heat on defense. They have some talent on the offensive side of the ball, but the defenses will reign supreme.

And hey, isn’t it true? Defense wins championships.

Tulsa at Navy odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Navy Midshipmen sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane (5-1 overall, 5-0 AAC) travel to Annapolis, Md., to battle the Navy Midshipmen (3-5, 3-3) in a Saturday matinee kicking off at 3:30 p.m. ET at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Below, we analyze the Tulsa-Navy college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Tulsa is No. 22 in the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Tulsa at Navy: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 9:20 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Tulsa -557 (bet $557 to win $100) | Navy +400 (bet $100 to win $400)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Tulsa -12.5 (-110) | Navy +12.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 47.5 (O: -115 | U: -106)

Tulsa at Navy: Three things to know

  1. Tulsa has won five consecutive games since losing 16-7 at then-No. 11 Oklahoma State in its season opener. The Golden Hurricane can secure a spot in the American Athletic Conference championship game with a win Saturday at Navy or a win against No. 7 Cincinnati next week.
  2. Navy is 5-0 against Tulsa in AAC play. The Midshipmen dominated Tulsa 45-17 last season. USNA and Tulsa were initially scheduled to play in Oklahoma Nov. 7, but the game was postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak on the Naval Academy campus. Playing the makeup game in Annapolis allows Navy to recognize its 26-man senior class in one last home game.
  3. The Middies played just one game in the month of November. Navy lost to Memphis in a 10-7 slugfest last Saturday. The contest marked Navy’s third single-digit offensive output this season. USNA ranks 111th in FBS scoring, at 20.0 points per game.

Tulsa at Navy: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Tulsa 31, Navy 17

Money line (ML)

STEER CLEAR of the extra juice which typically accompanies spreads of this size. PASS.

Against the spread (ATS)

Tulsa has been impressive on the road. The Hurricane have raised their recruiting profile in recent years, and the results are showing between the lines in what has been a real move forward in 2020. Still, looking past Navy toward Cincinnati would be possible … if not for the Middies’ inability to stay in the game offensively.

TAKE TULSA -12.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

Respecting a well-made number here: PASS.
