It’s race week and the Super Bowl of NASCAR, the Daytona 500, gets underway on Sunday. Who will come out victorious after 200 laps on the famed 2.5-mile oval? Ricky Steinhouse Jr. finished in 13th place at the 2019 Daytona 500 but has an advantage heading into Sunday afternoon’s race. Steinhouse Jr. earned a spot up front after dropping the fastest lap in qualifying. In doing so, he became the first non-Hendrick Motorsports driver to accomplish that feat since 2014. Joining him in pole position will be Alex Bowman in the No. 88 Chevrolet. Bowman started in the pole position last year as well and ended up two spots ahead of Steinhouse Jr. in 11th place.

Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch finished first and second last year and have to be in the discussion as favorites again this year. Hamlin avoided a series of crashes in the final laps to win his second Daytona 500 in four years. If he is able to pull out a third victory in the prestigious race, he will join the likes of legendary drivers Bobby Allison, Dale Jarrett and Jeff Gordon as those with three wins in Daytona 500 history.
