Christian Eckes rumored for move to NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025

Christian Eckes has been rumored for a move to the NASCAR Xfinity Series team in 2025. Which NASCAR team could sign Eckes?

[autotag]Christian Eckes[/autotag] has been one of the most dominant NASCAR Truck Series drivers of the 2024 season. Heading into the regular season finale at Richmond Raceway, Eckes sits 50 points above Corey Heim for the title. As of now, the driver of the No. 19 truck is projected for 37 playoff points in what could be his final full-time season in the Truck Series.

According to FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass, Eckes appears to have a NASCAR Xfinity Series ride in his future for next year. Eckes has also been linked to Front Row Motorsports and Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series for the 2025 season. If the McAnally-Hilgemann Racing driver doesn’t land one of those seats, Kaulig Racing’s Xfinity Series program would be ideal.

Eckes could replace Shane van Gibsergen in the No. 97 Xfinity car, which has three wins during the 2024 season. It would be an excellent move for whichever team lands Eckes, who has nothing left to prove in the Truck Series. Eckes is ready to make the jump to the Xfinity Series, and it will be very interesting to see which NASCAR team could snag his services.

NASCAR penalty report released for races at Indianapolis in 2024

NASCAR has revealed its penalty report for the races in Indianapolis in 2024. Find out who has been penalized by NASCAR!

NASCAR has finished its only date at Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the 2024 season, as Kyle Larson won the Brickyard 400 for his third Crown Jewel victory. Larson was all good with inspections; however, three penalties are coming from the weekend in Indianapolis. All three of the penalties are relatively the same in the NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series.

Austin Hill’s crew chief Andy Street was fined $5,000 after one lug nut was found not safe and secure on the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing car after the Xfinity Series event. Street’s fine was the biggest of the weekend in Indianapolis, as the Truck Series had two smaller penalties for lug nuts. The penalties come from McAnally-Hilgemann Racing and Young’s Motorsports.

Daniel Dye’s crew chief, Blake Bainbridge, and Thad Moffitt’s crew chief, Tyler Young, were fined $2,500 for one unsecured lug nut after the Truck Series event. None of these penalties are massive after several weeks of NASCAR debating big violations. Now, everyone can focus on the Olympic break as NASCAR returns in over two weeks.

NASCAR set for a very long break after weekend at Indianapolis in 2024

NASCAR is set for a very long break after the race weekend at Indianapolis in 2024. How long will NASCAR be off and when will it return?

NASCAR is set to return to the oval layout at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend; however, this will be the final Cup Series race in July. After Sunday, NASCAR will have a two-week break due to the Olympics, which are taking place in Paris. The racing series doesn’t participate, but NBC provides event coverage until the end.

So, what are the details behind NASCAR’s two-week break that will undoubtedly be a relief for teams and drivers? NASCAR will return at Richmond Raceway on August 10-11, but there will be 19 days of zero on-track action from July 22 to August 9. Meanwhile, the Xfinity Series won’t return until Michigan on August 16-17, which is 26 days of no racing.

It’s a very long break for NASCAR, but it will allow teams to regroup ahead of the playoff push. Four races will be left in the Cup Series regular season, which gives NASCAR a good stretch of 14 straight weekends to end the 2024 campaign. There is sadness that NASCAR won’t be on track for almost three weeks, but the teams and drivers deserve to enjoy the time off.

Corey Heim’s future in NASCAR receives a big update for the 2025 season

Corey Heim’s future in NASCAR receives a big update for the 2025 season. Where could Heim be racing in NASCAR when 2025 arrives?

[autotag]Corey Heim[/autotag] is lighting the NASCAR Truck Series world on fire alongside Christian Eckes, who has also proven that he is ready to make the jump. Heim has been frequently connected to 23XI Racing’s third car as the team is expected to acquire a charter for the 2025 season. However, the TRICON Garage driver may not be in 23XI Racing’s plans for a full-time ride next year.

According to FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass, Heim is staying in the Toyota camp and expects him to make more NASCAR Cup Series starts in 2025. However, it won’t be an entire season and depends on how many races Martin Truex Jr. would run with 23XI Racing. Heim would likely be full-time in one of NASCAR’s lower levels, with Pockrass leaning toward the Truck Series.

Heim deserves to compete full-time in the Cup or Xfinity Series, but it’s clear that 23XI Racing holds his talent in high regard. While he may not drive full-time for the NASCAR team in 2025, there will likely be a plan for him to compete in the Cup Series. Heim is one of NASCAR’s top prospects, and his performance will only keep improving in 2025 either way.

Johnny Sauter returns to NASCAR Truck Series at Lucas Oil Raceway in 2024

Johnny Sauter will return to the NASCAR Truck Series at Lucas Oil Raceway in 2024. Which surprising team will Sauter join at Lucas Oil?

[autotag]Johnny Sauter[/autotag] is returning to the NASCAR Truck Series for his third race of the 2024 season. According to the NASCAR Roster Portal, Sauter is scheduled to drive the No. 16 truck for [autotag]Hattori Racing Enterprises[/autotag] in the Truck Series race at Lucas Oil Raceway next weekend. Sauter has made two starts with Niece Motorsports in the No. 45 truck in 2024.

Hattori Racing Enterprises has entered one race during the 2024 Truck Series season but was unable to get on the track for qualifying due to rain at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Aric Almirola was supposed to pilot the No. 16 truck. Now, the former full-time Truck Series driver will get an opportunity at a third start during the 2024 NASCAR season.

Sauter doesn’t compete in many NASCAR races at 46 years old, as his full-time days appear to be in the past. However, it doesn’t mean Sauter can’t return for select NASCAR races throughout the season. Hattori Racing Enterprises will likely have to make the field on speed, and Sauter is an excellent choice to get the No. 16 team into the show.

NASCAR’s weather forecast for Pocono Raceway in July 2024

NASCAR’s weather forecast for the Pocono Raceway looks questionable in 2024. Check out the conditions for the Cup Series race at Pocono!

After another rainy weekend at the Chicago Street Course, NASCAR will start the weekend at Pocono Raceway soon. In 2023, the weather cooperated and allowed NASCAR to run the Cup Series race on Sunday; however, the weather has been difficult in previous years. With NASCAR ready for Pocono, the forecast looks questionable once again.

According to Weather.com, the weather forecast at Pocono Raceway calls for a high of 85° and a 20% chance of rain on Sunday. This is different from Saturday, which calls for a high of 81° and a 60% chance of rain. On Friday, the forecast calls for a high of 75° and a 55% chance of rain. Thankfully, the rain is projected to clear out by the Cup Series race on Sunday.

The rain is supposed to arrive at Pocono on Friday evening, which could affect the Truck Series event. On Saturday, it’s mainly in the morning hours, so NASCAR could run a doubleheader if needed. The hope is that NASCAR can practice and qualify, but the biggest concern is the Truck Series event. Hopefully, the forecast clears out completely and allows a full weekend of racing.
