Tristan Wirfs shows off his best Joker face

Bucs rookie Tristan Wirfs spent a date night in with his girlfriend painting, and showed he’s got some pretty good artistic skills.

The Buccaneers are hoping rookie offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs can live up to his first-round billing and help protect new quarterback Tom Brady. The Bucs surrendered 47 sacks on former quarterback Jameis Winston last season, something they are hoping to avoid with the 43-year-old Brady.

Wirfs has been hitting the field all offseason, and looks like he’s ready to start pushing bodies around on the field. But the big man also has an artistic side to him, too.

Check out some screenshots from Wirfs’ recent date night in with his girlfriend, where he showed fans his love for Heath Ledger’s Joker from the movie The Dark Knight.

Thank goodness it wasn’t Jared Leto’s Joker.

This list will have the Bucs even happier about their Tristan Wirfs selection

In his ‘Pipeline to the Pros’ series over at NFL.com, Chase Goodbread listed the top 10 schools for producing offensive linemen.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers entered the 2020 NFL draft hoping to snag one of the top-rated offensive tackles to be a building block for them up front and help keep new quarterback Tom Brady upright.

After watching three tackles get taken in the first 11 picks, Tampa Bay moved up from No. 14 to 13 in order to draft Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs, who some had ranked as the second-best tackle available.

Wirfs will be looked upon to have a major impact in his rookie season for a Bucs team looking to make a deep run into the postseason. And while it remains to be seen how things will pan out for Wirfs in his first year in the NFL, the Bucs should take comfort in the fact that their new offensive tackle comes from one of the best schools for producing NFL offensive linemen.

In his Pipeline to the Pros series over at NFL.com, Chase Goodbread has been examining which schools produce the best talent at each NFL position. His list of the best schools for offensive linemen had Wirfs’ alma mater ranked at No. 10, with guys like Bryan Bulaga and Brandon Scherff as some big-name alums.

Hopefully, Wirfs can do his Iowa Hawkeyes proud this season in the NFL.

Someone get Tristan Wirfs a drip pan

Bucs OT Tristan Wirfs has been hitting the football field lately and has the sweat to prove it.

When Tom Brady signed on to be the new quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason, the Bucs’ main priority entering the 2020 NFL draft became getting one of the top-ranked offensive tackles on the board.

After three tackles went in the first 11 picks, Tampa Bay opted not to take any chances, and traded up a spot to No. 13 to select Iowa offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs. The rookie will be looked upon to help keep Brady upright this season as the Bucs look to make a championship run. (No pressure.)

Fortunately, Wirfs is training like a man possessed. The tackle took to Instagram today to show off some pictures from his recent workout at Skyway Park in Tampa.

Take a look.

By the looks of it, that hot Florida sun isn’t doing Wirfs any favors when it comes to cooling down. Thankfully, he’ll have the luxury of having some practices indoors once training camp begins.
