Two University of Tennessee track and field athletes broke their own records Saturday at the Crimson Tide Invitational.
Senior Jordan West and Lady Vols’ graduate student Hannah Jefcoat set their own school marks on the second day of the meet.
West set a school record in shot put. On his sixth and final attempt, he landed 20.33 meters (66 feet, 8.5 inches).
His previous two record-setting efforts Saturday were 19.88 meters (65-2.75) and 19.96 meters (65-6).
West set his previous mark last season at the Tennessee Relays (19.85 meters (65-1.5).
Jefcoat finished second overall in the women’s pole vault competition with a mark of 4.22 meters (13-10).
Jefcoat was the top collegiate finisher in the event and set her previous school record at the 2021 Outdoor SEC Championships. The previous record was 4.19 meters (13-9).
