Former Duke basketball star Trajan Langdon will reportedly take a job as the President of Basketball Operations for the Detroit Pistons, according to a Thursday night report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Langdon had spent the past five years as the general manager of the New Orleans Pelicans, and he previously worked as the assistant general manager of the Brooklyn Nets.
The former Blue Devil played four seasons under legendary head coach Mike Krzyzewski. He started 24 games as a freshman in 1994-95, averaging 11.3 points per game and improving that total in each following season. After a career-high 2.1 assists per game as a sophomore, he set personal bests with 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in his senior season.
He reached the Elite Eight as a junior in 1998 before losing to the Connecticut Huskies in the national championship game as a senior. He scored at least 23 points in three of Duke’s final four games during that 1999 run, including 25 points against the Huskies and a double-double in the Sweet 16 against Missouri State.
He finished his Duke career with 136 games played, 14.5 points per game, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists.
