Chiefs share Travis Kelce mic’d up supercut video from training camp

Check out some of Travis Kelce’s best mic’d up moments from #Chiefs training camp.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce seems to relish any time he gets on camera, whether in Hollywood or at practices during training camp.

While his meteoric rise to stardom off the football field was a key storyline during the 2024 offseason, his hilarious antics weren’t reserved for the silver screen when the Chiefs took the field in St. Joseph earlier this month.

Although Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are quite an entertaining pairing, the All-Pro pass-catcher proved that he could steal the show during a mic’d up recording at Missouri Western State University.

Check out Kelce’s greatest hits from this summer’s practice condensed into a two-minute highlight clip, which was posted to the Chiefs’ official Twitter account:

Kelce didn’t take the field in Kansas City’s preseason finale against the Chicago Bears but fans can expect to see him back in action when the Chiefs face the Baltimore Ravens on September 5.

Taliese Fuaga continues to build confidence with each practice

Confidence continues to rise with Taliese Fuaga. His dominant rep against Chase Young at Thursday’s practice left media impressed:

Taliese Fuaga has shown promise the entire offseason from minicamp to New Orleans Saints training camp. The rookie then carried that momentum to the preseason game with the Arizona Cardinals, a performance for which he earned the praise of NFL analyst Brian Baldinger.

Most impressively, Fuaga did all of this while flipping from right tackle to left tackle. A back injury briefly held him out of practice, but he’s returned and may have just put on his most confidence-inspiring block yet. He stonewalled Chase Young at Thursday’s practice.

Saints News Network’s John Hendrix described the play by saying, “That Polynesian Power that Brian Baldinger talked about was on display. He stonewalled Chase Young and then he had just one hand out on him and Young wasn’t moving.”

Training camp is full of back and forth battles. It’s not about winning the rep. Young has won his fair share of reps. Young has been a wrecking ball all through training camp. Fuaga got this one in dominant fashion. To win the rep so convincingly against one of the stars of training camp means something.

The Saints’ recent offensive line selections have been less than enthusing, to say the least, but it seems they’ve hit on Taliese Fuaga.

Live updates, highlights from Packers’ joint practice with Ravens

Live updates and highlights from the Packers’ joint practice with the Ravens on Thursday, the last open practice of training camp.

The Green Bay Packers’ final open practice of training camp in 2024 will include a visit from the Baltimore Ravens, who are in Green Bay for a one-day joint practice ahead of Saturday’s preseason finale.

Matt LaFleur’s team will take on the AFC powerhouse in competitive periods and 11-on-11 work, providing one of the last tune-ups before the start of the regular season.

So, what will Day 19 bring at Ray Nitschke Field?

Here’s everything to know from Thursday’s joint practice with the Ravens:

Matt LaFleur pre-practice press conference

LaFleur still isn’t sure if Jordan Love will play the preseason finale on Saturday. “We’ll see.”

LaFleur said the tape from last Friday’s joint practice showed that Nik Bonitto did hit Jordan Love’s arm. The message: “They are in a difficult colored uniform for a reason. Stay off the quarterback,” LaFleur said.

Injury updates

LaFleur said rookie Jordan Morgan will go through individual periods before the team decides if he’ll return to 11-on-11 work on Thursday.

The Packers are still awaiting tests/opinions on A.J. Dillon’s stinger.

Live news and updates from practice

The Packers signed defensive lineman Keonte Schad, who played in the UFL over the last two seasons, per Bill Huber.

Anders Carson was a perfect 5-for-5, including long field goals to finish off two different two-minute scenarios.

The Packers went 3/3 tying the game and 3/3 preventing a score in the two-minute drills.

Open practices during training camp are now complete. The preseason finale is Saturday, and roster cutdown day is Tuesday. Then? It’s onto the regular season.

Paulson Adebo returns to Saints practice on Wednesday

Paulson Adebo returned to team drills at Saints training camp on Wednesday. He’d been held out with a groin injury for a couple of weeks:

The New Orleans Saints received a huge boost to their secondary as Paulson Adebo returned to Saints training camp on Wednesday after missing a couple weeks with a groin injury. The cornerback returned and participated in team drills.

This was the second day in a row New Orleans saw an important player return to practice. Starting tight end Juwan Johnson returned Tuesday in front of the fans at Yulman Stadium.

This was a welcomed sight as the Saints’ cornerback room has been thinning out due to injury. Kool-Aid McKinstry suffered an injury in last week’s preseason game against the San Francisc 49ers, and Marshon Lattimore has been out since early in training camp with a hip flexor injury. Lattimore has been working off to the side and ramping up ahead of the regular season opener.

The Saints hope both are able to return before the season opener, but Adebo’s return all but confirms he’ll be ready against the Panthers, barring a setback.

Adebo is stepping into an important season in 2024. He’s coming off the best year of his career and entering the final year of his contract. With a repeat performance, Paulson Adebo would be in line for a nice payday

WATCH: Carl Granderson mic’d up at Saints training camp practice

Carl Granderson was mic’d up at New Orleans Saints training camp practice. Here’s a day of work from his point of view:

Carl Granderson was mic’d up at New Orleans Saints training camp practice. Here’s a day of work from his point of view, which you can watch here. He’s the latest defender to wear a microphone into practice after other guys like Alontae Taylor and Willie Gay Jr. did so. Playmakers on offense like Rashid Shaheed and Cesar Ruiz have also given us a glimpse at practice from their perspectives.

Granderson is going to be a big player for the team again this year. He’s steadily climbed the depth chart to lead the Saints in snaps played at defensive end last season, logging 103 more reps than Cameron Jordan did. Expect Granderson and big-time free agent acquisition Chase Young to take point on passing downs.

Just how great can Granderson be? The former undrafted free agent has come a long way, and he’s coming off new career-highs in sacks (8.5) and tackles for loss (14). His 58 quarterback pressures were tied for 24th-most at Pro Football Focus, behind Young’s 66 (17th) and ahead of Jordan’s 45 (44th). He’s put in the work to become the future at defensive end for the Saints. All he has to do next is follow through and meet his own standards.

Dennis Allen’s patience with Kendre Miller wearing thin

Dennis Allen again emphasized the impact of Kendre Miller’s hamstring injury. He feels the Saints haven’t learned much about Miller since drafting him:

Kendre Miller sustained a hamstring injury on the first day of New Orleans Saints training camp, and he hasn’t returned to the practice field since the team returned to their Metairie practice facility after a month in Irvine. As more time has passed, Miller’s slow recovery has begun to feel like a breaking point for head coach Dennis Allen.

Throughout training camp, Allen has been measured when speaking about injuries after practice or games. He has avoided big statements and chosen to vocalize that he doesn’t have the full picture on injuries that happened just hours prior.

This didn’t apply to Miller. In the presser immediately following the injury, Allen said, “That’s a player that’s going to have to figure out how to stay healthy. Because it’s hard to make the team when you’re in the training room all the time.”

Calling Miller’s job security into question is significant, seeing as the Saints had a big vision for him coming out of college just a year ago. Allen said that college tape isn’t enough to evaluate from after Wednesday’s practice. He once again made reference to Miller’s lack of NFL experience and how it makes it “hard to make that evaluation” when determining how many running backs to roster.

“I know he’s talented,” Allen said. “But I don’t know if he can learn the system. I don’t know if can pick up the system because I haven’t seen him out there.”

These are fair points, and it appears the frustrations are building. Hamstring injuries can lead to lengthy recoveries but we’re approaching the point where it’s worth asking if Miller should have had surgery back in July. At this stage it feels like the Saints are likeliest to put put Miller on injured reserve at the start of the season and reevaluate him after four games. But if Allen had the authority to do so, you get the sense he might be willing to just move on altogether.

Saints shaking up their offensive line before preseason finale

The Saints are shaking up their offensive line before the preseason finale. Oli Udoh is splitting snaps with Trevor Penning at right tackle:

It’s taken some time, but the New Orleans Saints are shaking up their offensive line before Sunday’s preseason finale with the Tennessee Titans. Olisaemeka Udoh is splitting snaps with Trevor Penning at right tackle, and rookie standout Kyle Hergel is getting looks on the first-team lineup at left guard.

Change needed to happen, but some of this is due to injuries. Nick Saldiveri hasn’t been able to practice since July 29 which opened a hole at left guard. His replacement Lucas Patrick exited Wednesday’s practice with what head coach Dennis Allen described as muscle cramps. At right tackle, Penning’s progress has remained incremental. Udoh was already taking the second-team snaps on that side. After stepping in for Penning during a single series at Tulane’s open practice session, Udoh and Penning split reps evenly on Wednesday. Now it’s a real competition.

It’s business as usual at the other spots. Taliese Fuaga is still shaking off a back issue so Landon Young is filling in for him at left tackle. Erik McCoy and Cesar Ruiz remain the only starters returning from last year at center and right guard. Hergel’s case is interesting, though. He’s taken almost all of the  second-team reps behind Ruiz at right guard this summer but now he’s earning practice time with the starters at left guard and, occasionally, center on the second team. He’s put himself in great position to make the team and dress out on game days.

Allen has stressed the need to identify the five best linemen to start up front. Could that combination include Udoh and Hergel instead of Penning, Patrick, or Saldiveri? Maybe, maybe not. Time is running out for these late entrants to make their case in those competitions. But so long as Penning is struggling to handle his assignments and Saldiveri is unable to get on the practice field, it’s anyone’s game.

Packers training camp report: Live updates from Practice No. 18 in 2024

Live updates from the 18th training camp practice for the Packers on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024.

Welcome to the 18th day of training camp for the Green Bay Packers. Wednesday’s practice will be closed to the public but open to the media. On Thursday, the Baltimore Ravens will arrive in Green Bay for a joint practice — the final open practice of training camp.

So, what will Day 18 bring at Ray Nitschke Field?

Here’s everything to know from Wednesday Aug. 21, the 18th training camp practice of 2024:

Matt LaFleur pre-practice press conference

LaFleur said the Packers are “being cautious” with A.J. Dillon, who is dealing with a stinger.

Wednesday’s practice will be more of a walk-through speed.

Injury updates

Defensive end Preston Smith has returned from an illness. So has defensive lineman Keshawn Banks, per Wes Hodkiewicz.

Linebacker Ralen Goforth is also practicing in some capacity after suffering a concussion on Sunday night in Denver, per Hodkiewicz.

Live news and updates from practice

Welp, updates were limited at Wednesday’s practice, which was short and at walk-through speed in anticipation for Thursday’s joint practice with the Ravens.

Jabrill Peppers to Jalen Hurts “you know what happened last time”

Jabrill Peppers subtly disses Jalen Hurts in this funny banter after joint practice between #Eagles and #Patriots

There was an amusing moment between Jalen Hurts and Jabril Peppers during the Philadephia Eagles and New England Patriots joint practice camp recently when Peppers explained to QB Hurts that he was just sacked on the last play in the drill.

The moment between them was posted on the official NFL Twitter. It’s worth watching the banter between the two while they laugh about the last time Hurts was sacked by Peppers, who subtly tries to dig into the QB about how hard he was hit.

This part of the practice was no-contact given the flags visible on each player, so it’s understandable why Hurts and Pepper may not have been on the same page about whether the play was finished or not as Hurts tossed the ball after Pepper rushed past him. Watch the play here on the official Patriots YouTube channel.

There’s no question these two will meet again and hopefully, both are mic’d up when it happens.

Travis Kelce coins new catchphrase in mic’d up video from Chiefs training camp

Travis Kelce was caught trying out a new catchphrase in this mic’d up video from #Chiefs training camp.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is known for his captivating presence on-camera, and never shies away from the limelight, especially at training camp.

Though the Chiefs’ time in St. Joseph came to an end last week, a video of Kelce’s mic’d-up antics at Missouri Western State University was posted by the team’s official Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon.

Though the clip was relatively innocuous, it included a new catchphrase that may soon make its way into the vernacular of fans in Kansas City and around the country, which Kelce was heard saying often during the Chiefs’ training camp practices.

Kelce isn’t expected to see the field against the Chicago Bears in Kansas City’s preseason finale, but he may find a way to work this new soundbite into interviews from the sideline.

Stay tuned to see if this quip sticks in Kelce’s lexicon, or if it proves to be nothing more than a training camp quirk.
