Georgia football among top schools for elite 2023 CB Tony Mitchell

Mitchell is the nation’s No. 1 ranked corner for 2023.

Tony Mitchell, the nation’s No. 1 corner back in the class of 2023, has named Georgia football among his top-10 schools.

Out of Thomson High School, the Alabaster, Ala., native is rated as the top corner in the country, the No. 2 player in the state of Alabama and the No. 10 prospect overall in the 2023 class, per 247Sports.

Mitchell (6-foot-2, 180pounds) helped lead Thomson to a consecutive Alabama 7A state title and 14-0 record in 2020, racking up 82 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 8 pass breakups, 4 interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), a forced fumble and fumble recovery (returned for a touchdown).

The five-star will choose among Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, Florida, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Oregon and Ohio State.

Mitchell was one of the first recruits to visit Georgia’s new $80 million facilities this summer.
