Titans down multiple players for Wednesday’s practice

The Titans are feeling the effects of this part of the season with multiple players being held out of practice on Wednesday.

As the Tennessee Titans hit the field in preparation for their preseason finale against the New Orleans Saints, they are feeling the effects of the preseason grind. According to reports, multiple players will be held out of practice on Wednesday.

Defensive tackle TK McLendon Jr., who hurt his foot in the victory over the Seattle Seahawks, is the most significant. He is expected to miss multiple weeks of action after suffering a turf toe injury that impacts the defensive line’s overall depth.

Wide receiver and kick returner Kearis Jackson was also injured against the Seahawks. He suffered a bone bruise in his knee during the first half and did not return. The injury deals a tremendous blow to Jackson, who is locked in a battle for one of the last roster spots.

Tight end Josh Whyle and linebacker Otis Reese are both in the concussion protocol. Reese was also injured against the Seahawks. It is unclear when Whyle entered the protocol; he was one of many Titans held out of action against the Seahawks.

Titans training camp: 1 rookie to watch at each defensive position

Shaun Calderon names one rookie to watch at each position on defense for the Titans going into training camp, a list that includes all undrafted free agents.

After going over the Titans’ offensive rookies on Monday, today we take a closer look at which defensive rookies to keep an eye on as training camp rapidly approaches.

The Titans’ defense looks very strong on paper, in particular when it comes to the top of the depth chart. Tennessee has a good mix of established playmakers and young talent all across the board.

However, to say the depth at several positions is questionable at best would be drastically underselling it.

As we noted in the offensive article earlier this week, the Titans used all of their draft picks on offense, which means this article is going to revolve around undrafted free agents who are looking to make a name for themselves.

Believe it or not, there are some very intriguing players on this list despite their status as undrafted free agents, so let’s not wait any longer and dive right into it.
