Tennessee Titans at Los Angeles Rams Week 9 prop bets

Analyzing the Tennessee Titans at Los Angeles Rams matchup and offering up expert picks and predictions on the top player prop bets.

In a thrilling Sunday Night Football matchup, the Tennessee Titans (6-2) head to the beautiful SoFi Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Rams (7-1). Kick-off is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Tennessee Titans at Los Angeles Rams player prop bets odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

While this game should still be thriller, the NFL’s leading rusher will not make an appearance as RB Derrick Henry will be sidelined with a foot injury.

NFL legend RB Adrian Peterson was picked up by Tennessee and is expected to replace the star back. However, actually replacing Henry is practically impossible.

The Titans will take on a surging Rams, led by potential MVP candidate QB Matthew Stafford. This is also expected to be Von Miller’s first game with LA.

Rams QB Matthew Stafford OVER 2.5 passing TDs (+100)

The Titan shouldn’t be as potent offensively without Henry would could help the Rams have a higher time of possessions. While that’s a theory, it won’t matter anyway as Stafford has been absolutely rolling with the Rams.

He’s hit at least three touchdowns in five of eight games this season and has topped two in his last three games.

Stafford is on fire and is the main source of offense for LA, a team ranking fifth in points per game. They’re that good, and with WR Cooper Kupp continuing his career-best season, Stafford has the options at his disposal.

There’s no reason to believe his dominance won’t continue as the Titans rank 24th in opponent’s passing yards per game.

Titans WR AJ Brown UNDER 75.5 receiving yards (-114)

Let’s turn our attention to the other offense.

Without Henry, more will be asked of Titans QB Ryan Tannehill. Everyone knows they won’t be the same offense, and there’s little data to back how it will go as Henry has missed one game in the past four years.

With that in mind, Brown should be a good option for Tannehill, but he’ll have superstar CB Jalen Ramsey covering him, or at least he should be on the Titans best receiver.

Brown’s prop is a bit inflated after two dominant weeks, but despite those, he’ll still only hit 75 yards in three of six games.

With Ramsey on him, I think Brown may struggle and Julio Jones have the monster game. Jones is “good to go” and will be the premier other target for Tannehill.

Rams WR Robert Woods OVER 5.5 receptions (+107)

Plus-money value for the Rams’ Robert Woods to get six receptions is the best bet on the table.

After the team’s 37-20 loss to Arizona, head coach Sean McVay said he wanted to get Wood more involved. Since then, Woods’ backers have been salivating over his production.

He’s been targeted 34 times in the past four weeks and has secured 23 receptions. While he’s only hit this prop twice this season, Woods is continuing is a top option for Stafford.

Everyone knows the season Kupp is having, and it’s been Woods who has stepped up lately. Woods has hit this prop in two of his last four weeks. Stafford is the sixth-most accurate QB in the NFL.

He’s going to get Woods opportunities to succeed, and in primetime action, I think he gets enough chances snag six or more catches.

Tennessee Titans at Los Angeles Rams odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Tennessee Titans at Los Angeles Rams odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Tennessee Titans (6-2) will take their four-game winning streak into SoFi Stadium Sunday night and face a team that has also won its last four games, the Los Angeles Rams (7-1). Kickoff will be at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday. Below, we look at the Titans vs. Rams odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Titans have caught fire as of late, beating the Chiefs, Bills and Colts in recent weeks. But they were dealt a major blow when RB Derrick Henry suffered what could be a season-ending foot injury in Week 8 against the Colts. They’ll now have to lean on QB Ryan Tannehill and the passing game, which features WRs A.J. Brown and Julio Jones on the outside.

The Rams have won each of their last four games, all by at least nine points. Their schedule hasn’t been terribly difficult in the last month, but they beat the Seahawks and also knocked off the Colts and Buccaneers earlier this year. WR Cooper Kupp leads the league in just about every receiving category, putting him on pace to tie Calvin Johnson’s single-season record for yards.

Titans at Rams odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Rams 31, Titans 20

Money line

The Rams look like the best team in football right now, having won their last four games fairly easily. The Titans have gotten on track after losing to the Jets in Week 4, but they look like a very different offense now without Henry in the backfield.

They’ll have a hard time keeping up with the Rams offense, while Los Angeles’ defense won’t have much trouble pressuring Tannehill, especially with Von Miller in the mix now. It’s chalky, but I like the RAMS (-340) to win at home.

Against the spread

The Titans are an impressive 6-2 against the spread this season, matching their SU record. The Rams are just 4-4 ATS, but they should’ve covered last week against the Texans if not for some garbage-time touchdowns in the last eight minutes by Houston.

The spread only moved one point when Henry was announced as being out, so I like the RAMS -7.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The total has gone over five times each for the Rams and Titans. Tennessee is unlikely to match its season average of 28 points per game without Henry, while the Rams should be right on track for about 30 against a Titans secondary that isn’t exactly filled with great coverage players, especially at corner.

Still, 52.5 points is a lot, so I’m going to take the UNDER (-110).

Best NFL underdog picks and predictions of Week 9

Assessing the NFL betting odds and lines for Week 9, with three predictions and picks for the best underdog bets to make.

The New Orleans Saints came through in a big way for us in Week 8, but the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions did not, resulting in our second losing week of the season.
Still, we’re sitting pretty with a 17-7 (.708) record against the spread so far as we head into our …

Cleveland Browns +2.5 (-105) at Cincinnati Bengals (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

The Browns are now all alone in the AFC North basement at 4-4, having lost three of their last four games, after dropping a tightly contested home game Sunday to the hated Pittsburgh Steelers.

QB Joe Burrow and the surprising Bengals, meanwhile, are a half-game out of the AFC North lead after winning four of their last six, although Week 8, brought a stunning 34-31 defeat to the 1-5 New York Jets playing with a backup quarterback. Cincy became the first double-digit favorite to lose outright this season.

That means both teams should be highly motivated Sunday, and we’ll side with the more-desperate Browns, who won two high-scoring shootouts with the Bengals last season. Waiting to see if the line bumps up to plus-3 here would be ideal for Browns backers.

Las Vegas Raiders at New York Giants +3.5 (-125) (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET)

The G-Men are a brutal 6-14 straight up and ATS at home — the league’s worst mark against the number — since the start of the 2019 season.

The AFC West-leading Raiders are coming off a bye with 5-2 SU and 4-3 ATS records in 2021. However, the major distractions at some point are going to be too much to overcome, and this week started with the horrific Henry Ruggs news.

If the Giants don’t wind up getting hit hard by their early-week COVID scare, go with the home team here.

Tennessee Titans +7.5 (-115) at Los Angeles Rams (Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET)

The Titans truly did suffer a King-sized blow with the RB Derrick Henry injury news Monday, but this Tennessee team continues to overcome the odds as it enters this Sunday night contest coming off three consecutive outright wins as an underdog.

A road win over a red-hot Rams team tied for the league’s best record at 7-1 is likely too much to ask, though. But rallying the troops and covering a TD-plus spread is very doable for Tennessee as L.A. has been a mediocre 4-4 ATS so far this season.
