Warriors’ Marquese Chriss drops new album ‘Tip-Off’ with rapper 2kkhari

While the Golden State Warriors are busy with their extended offseason, big man Marquese Chriss released his new rap album, with 2kkhari.

Since the league was put on hold in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, members of the Golden State Warriors have identified options outside of hoops to fill their time.

Along with playing video games, Eric Paschall has started a shoe Instagram. While Stephen Curry and Damion Lee have been at the golf course, Klay Thompson has spent time with his bulldog, Rocco.

For Marquese Chriss, it’s music. Following his single “I Remember” with Sacramento based rapper 2kkhari, the duo dropped their debut album. On Friday night, “Quese” and 2kkhari released their album, “Tip-Off.” The album consists of seven songs with a pair of features from Nocapyog and Young Nae.

Listen to Chriss and 2kkhari album via Spotify:

Chriss is the latest member of the NBA fraternity to join the rap game. Damian Lillard, Marvin Bagley, Iman Shumpert and Lonzo Ball have participated in the rap game. Ex-Warriors Kevin Durant and JaVale McGee have also released music.

You can listen to Tip-Off on Apple Music, Spotify and other music streaming services.

When he’s not laying down tracks, the former lottery pick is competing for the starting center position on the Golden State Warriors. Over the last 10 games before the NBA shutdown, Chriss was averaging 13.2 points per game on 59.1% shooting from the field with 9.3 rebounds. In six of those games, the Washington Huskies product marked double-doubles.

Chriss will likely have competition for his position by a draft pick or free-agent acquisition. However, if he can parlay his steady play from down the stretch into solid performances at offseason minicamp and preseason training camp, the 23-year-old is in line to play a significant role in the Warriors frontcourt.
