New Orleans Saints finalize times and dates for 2023 preseason games

The New Orleans Saints finalized the times and dates for their three-game 2023 preseason series:

[anyclip pubname=”2103″ widgetname=”0016M00002U0B1kQAF_M8036″]

The New Orleans Saints finalized the times and dates for their three-game 2023 preseason series, having previously announced the matchups while waiting on the NFL to set the schedule for these exhibition games. Their first two games will be broadcast locally on FOX with the third and final game getting a national broadcast.

Here’s the Saints’ preseason schedule:

  • Aug. 13: Saints vs. Kansas City Chiefs, noon CT (FOX 8)
  • Aug. 20: Saints at Los Angeles Chargers, 6:05 p.m. CT (FOX 8)
  • Aug. 27: Saints vs. Houston Texans, 7 p.m. CT (FOX)

New Orleans will make the most of that one road trip to Los Angeles by scheduling a couple of joint practices with the Chargers in the days leading up to the preseason game, just like they did last summer with the Green Bay Packers.

We’ll see how often the Saints play their starters and other high-profile rookies, but this should be a good opportunity for fans to get a look at the many competitions brewing for training camp as players work to lock down a limited number of roster spots.

LOOK: The New Orleans Saints’ 2023 schedule is here

The New Orleans Saints announced their schedule for the 2023 season, including several games against last season’s playoff teams and rookie quarterbacks:

We’re going into Year 2 of the Dennis Allen era with the New Orleans Saints, and expectations are high for this team after they came up short last season. It’s playoffs or bust for a Saints team that’s gone all-in this offseason, recruiting a new starting quarterback in Derek Carr and moving tens of millions of dollars around to fit talented free agent pickups under the salary cap.

They should get where they want to go with this favorable schedule. Just one opponent won double-digit games last year (the Minnesota Vikings, at a fraudulent 13-4). Few of this year’s matchups will be against teams returning from the playoff tournament. With a weak division in front of them and many winnable games lined up, there are going to be no excuses should Allen’s squad miss the postseason again. Here’s every game on their 2023 schedule:

Week Date Opponent Time (CT) Tickets
1 Sept. 10 vs. Tennessee Titans 12 p.m. Tickets
2 Sept. 18 at Carolina Panthers 6:15 p.m. Tickets
3 Sept. 24 at Green Bay Packers 12 p.m. Tickets

Important NFL dates, times for Chiefs in March of 2023

March is the busiest month of the NFL offseason calendar for the #Chiefs and the rest of the league.

March is perhaps the busiest month of the NFL offseason calendar. The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine just wrapped up, but there are still some important dates on the way soon. The franchise tag deadline, the legal tampering period and the start of the NFL’s free agency period are just a few of the important events that are soon to arrive. There are also some key dates and events specific to the Chiefs, including contract guarantee trigger dates.

Here’s a quick look at the NFL calendar for March and what fans should be aware of over the course of the next month:

NFL finalizes Week 18 schedule, Saints-Panthers kickoff time

The NFL finalized its Week 18 schedule, including the kickoff time for Saints-Panthers at the Caesars Superdome:

There we go: the NFL finalized its Week 18 schedule to put a cap on the 2022 regular season, setting the stage for the upcoming playoffs tournament. That includes the kickoff time for a penultimate matchup between the New Orleans Saints (7-9) and Carolina Panthers (6-10) at the Caesars Superdome.

As expected, the Saints and Panthers will kick off at noon CT/1 p.m. ET on Sunday, Jan. 8. This one doesn’t have any playoff implications so it makes sense to bump it down into an earlier time slot, saving the more-prominent games for bigger spotlights in the afternoon and evening. The Saints-Panthers game will be one of eight games in Sunday’s early-afternoon slot.

Two games will kick off on Saturday, pitting the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders against each other at 3:30 p.m. CT followed by the Tennessee Titans-Jacksonville Jaguars matchup at 7:15 p.m. CT. Both of those tilts will be broadcast simultaneously on ESPN and ABC.

As for Sunday night’s feature: the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions will square off in a win-and-you’re-in scenario for Green Bay, though the Lions will need an earlier loss by the Seattle Seahawks (to the Los Angeles Rams) to qualify for postseason play. We’ll be pulling for former Saints assistant coach Dan Campbell to pull off the upset against the Packers.

Packers’ first three training camp practices will begin at 10:45 a.m.

The Packers will start the team’s first three training camp practices (July 27, July 28 and July 30) at 10:45 a.m. CT.

The Green Bay Packers will be practicing in the late morning during their first three public practices of training camp in 2022.

The team announced that practices on Wednesday, July 27, Thursday, July 28, and Saturday, July 30 will begin at 10:45 a.m. CT at Ray Nitschke Field in Green Bay.

The times for later practices are still being determined by the team. The Packers have yet to announce starting times for six other public practices (Aug. 1-2, 4, 7-8, 10) and the two joint practices with the New Orleans Saints (Aug. 17-18).

Training camp is nearly here. Rookies report to Green Bay on Friday, July 22, while veterans get into town on Tuesday, July 26.

Finally: the New Orleans Saints have announced their schedule for the 2022 season, including three prime-time kickoffs and an international game in London. Expectations are high for New Orleans despite a tumultuous offseason that saw Sean Payton step down as the team’s longtime head coach, replaced by Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen; now, the team is looking to improve on their 9-8 record from last year and get back to the postseason.

That’s easier said than done, especially considering the hurdles in front of the Saints. They’re scheduled for nine games with teams returning from the playoffs last season, and they won’t get a chance to rest during their bye week until Week 14. Plus, the year starts out with three NFC South rivalry matchups before a long road trip overseas. A rough start to Allen’s tenure could sink their season before it has a chance to get off the ground. Still, the Saints have built an experienced team that should compete each week. Here are the games on their 2022 schedule:

Week Date Opponent Time (CT) Tickets
1 Sept. 11 at Atlanta Falcons 12 p.m. Tickets
2 Sept. 18 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 12 p.m. Tickets
3 Sept. 25 at Carolina Panthers 12 p.m. Tickets
4 Oct. 2 vs. Minnesota Vikings (London) 8:30 a.m. Tickets
5 Oct. 9 vs. Seattle Seahawks 12 p.m. Tickets
6 Oct. 16 vs. Cincinnati Bengals 12 p.m. Tickets
7 Oct. 20 at Arizona Cardinals 7:15 p.m. Tickets
8 Oct. 30 vs. Las Vegas Raiders 12 p.m. Tickets
9 Nov. 7 vs. Baltimore Ravens 7:15 p.m. Tickets
10 Nov. 13 at Pittsburgh Steelers 12 p.m. Tickets
11 Nov. 20 vs. Los Angeles Rams 12 p.m. Tickets
12 Nov. 27 at San Francisco 49ers 3:25 p.m. Tickets
13 Dec. 5 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7:15 p.m. Tickets

15 Dec. 17/18 vs. Atlanta Falcons TBD Tickets

College pro day schedule for 2022 NFL offseason

#Chiefs scouts will hit the road today as the college pro day circuit begins. Here’s a look at the complete schedule so far:

Even with the return of the NFL Scouting Combine, there will be plenty for scouts to learn during the college pro day circuit ahead of the 2022 NFL draft.

Kansas City Chiefs scouts will travel to college campuses to watch the best athletes work out. They’ll give preference to schools that didn’t have key players in all-star games or at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine. While the athletic testing doesn’t quite carry the same rigor of the combine, meaningful information that is used to assemble the final draft board is still gathered.

Pro days will take place throughout the month of March and continue into early April. All dates and times are subject to change at a given school’s discretion. Some schools haven’t yet decided on a time and date for their pro day, but we’ll keep this list up to date as that information is released.

Here’s a look at the schedule for the 2022 pro day circuit so far:
