A Diary of a Wimpy Kid clip has become a hilarious new football TikTok meme

This meme is everywhere.

Full disclosure: I have never seen the film adaptation of Diary of a Wimpy Kid from 2010, so you’ll pardon me if I don’t have a lot of context for this meme I’ve now seen popping up.

It’s a scene from the movie in which kids audition for The Wizard of Oz, and they sing the Bonnie Tyler classic, Total Eclipse of the Heart. Most of the kids are terrible, until one sings beautifully.

That’s led to a lot of funny jokes about NFL quarterbacks and the like. Check out some hilarious examples and the original clip from the movie below:

Kevin Durant calls OKC his favorite opposing city to play in

KD has only played in OKC 5 times since he left in 2016, but it’s evident he still enjoys playing there as an opposing player.

When asked which opposing city he likes to play in the most, Kevin Durant gave a surprising answer. The future Hall-of-Famer answered OKC.

In an “NBA on TNT” TikTok video, Durant was asked several questions, but that one likely caught the attention of most Oklahoma City Thunder fans.

The complex relationship between Durant and the Thunder is well-documented. After spending nine years with OKC, Durant left to join the Golden State Warriors in 2016.

Since then, he has only played five games in OKC as an opposing player. In those five, he’s averaged 31.4 points on 50.5% shooting, 7.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists.

The heavy boos Durant endures every time he’s in town likely played a role in his decision to go with OKC as his top answer. It could also be because of a nostalgic effect, as Durant can reminisce about his time with the Thunder all these years later.

Either way, Durant will need to stay patient for his next visit to his favorite opposing city. The Phoenix Suns play one game at OKC this season on March 29.

The last time he played in OKC, controversy arose following the game over whether Thunder fans should still boo Durant seven years after he left.

‘Taylor Swift put Travis Kelce on the map’: The latest TikTok prank is so funny

A hilarious prank that’s gone viral.

Let’s get right to the point here: OBVIOUSLY, Taylor Swift didn’t put Travis Kelce on the map.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is a superstar in his own right, probably a future Hall of Famer, etc etc. He also hosted Saturday Night Live and was fantastic, so he’s already got a foot into the pop culture world.

But women on TikTok are deliberately declaring to their significant others, friends or family that the singer/songwriter put Kelce on the map to stardom now that they’re dating, and the reactions have gone viral as the men respond with indignance.

This is just perfect, 10/10, no notes.

It was way too easy to get him going with this😂 #marriedlife #couplecomedy #taylorswift #traviskelce

TikTok challenge gets Georgia HS matchup canceled for second-straight year

A high school football matchup between two teams in Georgia has ended in bizarre fashion for the second straight year.

A high school football matchup between two teams in Georgia has ended in bizarre fashion for the second straight year.

On Friday night, Benedictine was facing Jenkins and leading comfortably by a score of 42-0. However, multiple disruptions in the crowd caused officials to cancel the game at halftime, according to a report by WJCL in Savannah.

Apparently, there was no real threat, but the disruption was caused by a TikTok challenge meant to make it seem like there was a chaotic incident going on. Officials called off the game out of caution.

What’s truly weird is that this same matchup ended in roughly the exact same way when these teams met last season.

According to Mike Swanson at Sports Illustrated, last year’s game was canceled just before halftime, with Benedictine leading 45-0. That cancelation came after there was an altercation (a real one) in the stands.

“It was an eerily similar result to last year’s Benedictine-Jenkins game, when an altercation in the Jenkins stands led to a panic, causing spectators to rush out of the bleachers, Savannah Now reported after last year’s game. Benedictine was leading 45-0 with 2:10 remaining in the first half when the game got called early last year.”

Benedictine was declared the winner, starting their season 1-0. They have won two 4A state championships in a row.

MLB TikTok account glamorized Braves’ Matt Olson like the HR-smashing dreamboat he is

You gotta give the people what they want.

With 43 home runs and a 1.006 OPS, Matt Olson is in the midst of a potential NL MVP campaign for the league-leading Atlanta Braves. It’s a bonus, then, that the 29-year-old first baseman happens to be a conventionally attractive man, too.

That is, at least, according to the MLB TikTok.

On Tuesday, the official account shared a video featuring various clips of Olson strutting around with a saxophone and smooth jazz suggestively playing in the background. The implication is easy to understand: Either the runners of MLB’s TikTok account seem to think Olson is (justifiably) a dreamboat, or they’re just playing into the minds of fans who (justifiably) think Olson is a dreamboat.

Or both. It can be both.

Whatever the case may be, the weirdly erotic Olson video also included the caption “more like Gyatt Olson” with a “hot face, tongue out” emoji. If you’re not familiar with young person slang, dearest reader, have no fear. Neither am I! According to impeccable source Urban Dictionary, “gyatt” is a shortened form of “goddamn.”

So, the MLB account posted, in essence, “Goddamn Olson.” Mhm, sure, this all adds up.

Again, they’re not exactly wrong. Olson does look like an attractive human being who happens to be a star baseball player. It’s just a tad odd that an official MLB platform would play into it with a mood-setting saxophone and silly Gen Z slang about hotness.

Well, it’s giving the people what they want.

Planet of the Bass, which perfectly parodies 90s Euro dance songs, is actually the 2023 Song of the Summer

“Life, it never die. Women are my favorite guy.”

It’s August and we’re still searching for the 2023 Song of the Summer.

We’ve given you some solid candidates, but this one? I think it’s the winner, but there’s a twist.

A TikTok video from Kyle Gordon parodies what every European dance song in the 1990s sounded like: Planet of the Bass, by DJ Crazy Times and Ms. Bijana Electronica. It’s right on the money, between the sound, the singer and the rap that comes at the end.

But it’s an actual bop, a song people are actually enjoying and singing along to, or they’re just making memes out of the lyrics:

Too funny.

It’s time to declare it: ATTENZIONE PICKPOCKET! is the meme of summer 2023

These videos of a woman calling out pickpockets in Venice are now the best memes.

I have seen all your memes, and as the judge of all things meme*, I would like to declare a winner: ATTENZIONE PICKPOCKET IS THE MEME OF SUMMER 2023.

(*Not a real thing, also not a real award, but stick with me.)

There’s been a lot to love, from Barbenheimer memes to Lionel Messi at at Publix to the awesomeness that is the Las Vegas Sphere and its memes.

But, no: The award goes to a 57-year-old in Venice named Monica Poli. Per a New York Times interivew that dropped, “She is part of a group known as the Cittadini Non Distratti — the undistracted citizens — who wander the city shouting at people whom they believe to be thieves plucking wallets, passports and other items from the pockets of passers-by.”

And her voice screaming ATTENZIONE PICKPOCKET! ATTENZIONE BORSEGGIATRICI! at people trying to steal from tourists — who run away and hide their faces — is the best … and so are the memes:

Grimace Shake TikToks turn the McDonald’s purple milkshake into devastating horror movies

This is the funniest new TikTok trend thanks to the Grimace Shake.

If that sentence above feels like a Mad Libs, I get it.

Either way, you’re going to love this TikTok trend that’s popped up.

McDonald’s starting selling a gross-looking purple milkshake to celebrate the 52-year-old birthday of Grimace, the giant furry character that’s a … well, we’re not sure what it is.

But as we’ve seen with other TikTok trends, people have transformed drinking the purple stuff into a horror movie: They drink the milkshake, wish Grimace a happy birthday … and suddenly some bad stuff starts to go down, eventually ending with people covered in purple goo and being dragged off to the woods or something.

It’s wild:

The 4 funniest Wes Anderson fake trailers generated by AI, from Harry Potter to The Matrix

The AI-generated Wes Anderson trailers are EVERYWHERE.

By now, you’ve probably seen that AI-generated trailer for Star Wars if it was directed by Wes Anderson, which is a hilarious thought.

If you haven’t, we’ve listed it below. But since then, there have been a few other AI-generated versions of movies if they were directed by the great Anderson. And while we can probably agree that all this AI stuff isn’t the best thing for our society at large, we can agree on one thing: Wes Anderson is awesome, his movies are great, and these trailers are pretty incredible (along with the trend of people pretending to be in Wes Anderson movies in their daily lives, have you seen that on TikTok? It’s a delight).

Take a look at these:
