This is a stud pitching matchup, and as long as Eovaldi does not run into any major trouble, this game should move quickly and finish under the total. RHP Jose Urena is the projected starting pitcher for the Tigers. He is 2-8 with a 6.22 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, 5.9 K/9 and 4.1 BB/9 in 72 1/3 IP over 15 starts.

Urena had an abysmal month of June, going 0-4 with a 12.50 ERA across five starts in just 18 innings. He allowed four solo home runs last time out in Cleveland in a no-decision, and he has allowed four or more runs in each of his past four outings.

RHP Dane Dunning is the projected starting pitcher for the Rangers. He is 3-6 with a 4.38 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, 9.6 K/9 and 3.3 BB/9 in 74 IP over 16 starts.

Dunning allowed just three hits and two walks with four strikeouts across four scoreless innings in a 68-pitch no-decision at Oakland last Thursday.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The RANGERS -1.5 (+105) are a much better play on the run line as Urena has been terrible lately, and the Texas offense should be able to fare pretty well against them. The Rangers are looking to bounce back after dropping the opener, and they should find the sledding fairly easy against Urena.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 9 (-115) is the best play on the board as Urena hasn’t been able to keep the ball in the park lately. He allowed four solo shots in Cleveland last time out and seven total homers in his past two road starts. Look for more of the same in Arlington.
