Randle chose Texas over a strong offer list including Alabama, LSU, Florida State and Miami.

Texas is continuing to build its southeastern footprint on the recruiting front. The Longhorns have picked up a commitment from three-star tight end Will Randle out of Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans.

Randle chose Texas over a strong offer list including Alabama, LSU, Florida State and Miami. He becomes the sixth member of Texas’ 2023 recruiting class, joining Spencer Shannon as tight ends in the group.

247Sports composite ranks Randle as the No. 35 tight end in the nation and a top 25 player from the state of Louisiana.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder profiles as a flex tight end or H-back at the college level. Randle is a three-sport star with the athleticism to thrive in Steve Sarkisian’s offense.

Landing Randle will no dought benefit Texas in the Arch Manning recruitment. The two are high school teammates and have taken many college visits together.

Texas lands commitment from 2023 three-star tight end Spencer Shannon

Texas pulls tight end Spencer Shannon from one of the country’s best high schools.

Texas is starting the week off strong with a commitment from three-star 2023 tight end Spencer Shannon.

Shannon’s commitment comes after Steve Sarkisian and the Texas staff hosted a huge recruiting weekend on campus. He took little time to announce his decision following his official visit to Austin.

The Mater Dei product is rated as the No. 53 player in the state of Calif. and the No. 41 tight end in the nation by 247Sports composite. Shannon’s 6-foot-6 frame and athleticism make him an excellent fit for Texas’ offense.

He chose Texas over other offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Stanford, Tennessee and UCLA.

Shannon becomes the sixth member of Texas’ 2023 class and the first commitment of what is expected to be a busy summer on the recruiting trail.

Texas offers 2023 Mater Dei tight end Spencer Shannon

Texas offers Mater Dei’s tight end Spencer Shannon.

Steve Sarkisian and tight ends coach/special teams coordinator Jeff Banks extended an offer to 2023 tight end Spencer Shannon this week.

Shannon was on campus over the weekend for the Orange-White spring game. He spoke about his trip and what the Texas offer meant to him with 247Sports Greg Biggins.

That was really exciting for me. I’ve been talking with coach Banks a lot and he told me he wanted to offer me earlier but when he heard I was coming to visit, he thought it would be better to offer in person and it definitely made it special.

The three-star prospect from Mater Dei is quickly rising up the recruiting ranks. Shannon has picked up recent offers from the likes of Texas, UCLA, Notre Dame and Stanford.

Shannon’s 6-foot-7, 240-pound frame and athleticism provide him a high ceiling at the collegiate level. Texas likes to utilize the tight end position in their offense and Sark sees Shannon as an ideal fit for his scheme.
