Five things to know about Ole Miss heading into Week 8 contest

Here’s everything you should know about the 7-0 Rebels before their trip to Baton Rouge.

LSU will meet Ole Miss for the 111th time in Magnolia Bowl series history on Saturday afternoon.

It will be Lane Kiffin’s second trip to Baton Rouge as Ole Miss head coach and Brian Kelly’s first taste of the rivalry.

LSU has won the last six of eight but dropped one last year in Oxford. Ole Miss is No. 7 in the country and unbeaten, coming off a 48-34 win over Auburn.

The Rebels have relied on a dynamic rush attack that’s top 10 in the country in efficiency and total rushing. LSU is a slight favorite after opening as the underdog.

LSU will look to build on the win in Gainesville with a signature win in Baton Rouge. Here are five things to know about the Rebels.

6 important things to know about Cowboys’ Week 7 opponent, the Detroit Lions

With a dominating run game and gritty team, here are six things to know about the Detroit Lions, the Week 7 opponent for the Dallas Cowboys. | From @BenGrimaldi

For the first time since losing opening weekend, the Dallas Cowboys will be heading into a matchup with a foul taste in their mouths. Losing to a rival hurts, but the show must go on and that means preparing for the Detroit Lions in Week 7. It’s also the first time the Cowboys will be playing a team coming off of a bye week. After a divisional matchup on Sunday night on the road, the Lions will surely be the fresher team heading into the game.

Dallas is likely going to be getting a return from starting quarterback Dak Prescott, so there are no excuses. A new winning streak could be awaiting, and that needs to begin with an improved Lions team, who have an offense that can put up points. Here are six things to know about the Lions ahead of the Week 7 matchup.

Cowboys vs Eagles: 6 things to know about the Week 6 matchup

These aren’t the same Eagles that Dallas dominated in 2021. Get to know the 2022 version ahead of SNF. | From @BenGrimaldi

It’s Philadelphia week for the Dallas Cowboys. Just kidding, of course, because that type of obsession mostly comes from Eagles fans. However, it is a big week for the Cowboys as they attempt to win their fifth straight game. Despite the winning streak and playing with a backup quarterback, the Cowboys still don’t appear to be taken seriously, yet.

Each week has been a “can they do it again” type of vibe. After last week was labeled their biggest test, along comes another challenge, and this one looks to be the real measuring stick. The Eagles are the only undefeated team in the NFL, and they have looked like one of the best teams in the league. Dallas is still playing with Cooper Rush under center, on the road for Sunday Night Football in a raucous environment, and their best defensive player, Micah Parsons, is a bit hobbled. Here are six things to know about the Eagles in preparation for the Week 6 showdown.

Five things to know about the Florida Gators heading into Saturday’s matchup

LSU will head to Gainesville to take on a Florida team with a lot in common.

LSU is set to travel to Gainesville to face the Florida Gators in The Swamp. As is usually the case when these teams meet, there’s no shortage of storylines.

It’s a meeting of first-year head coaches. Prior to taking over at Florida, Billy Napier spent the last four years at Louisiana enjoying a good run with the Rajun Cajuns. Some thought that LSU should have given him a look, but he was never seriously considered, and the Tigers opted for [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag].

I don’t believe Saturday night is any sort of referendum, but there will be one somewhere along the line, and if Napier’s tenure at Florida outdoes Kelly’s, then LSU is going to have a hard time living that down.

With that in mind, here are five things you should know about the Gators prior to kickoff on Saturday night.

Cowboys vs Rams: 6 things to know about Week 5 opponent

From having elite defenders and one of the game’s top wide receivers, here’s what to know about the Week 5 opponent for the Dallas Cowboys. | From @BenGrimaldi

We’ve arrived at Week 5 for the Dallas Cowboys, 3-1 and looking forward getting their starting quarterback back from injury. That isn’t going to be this week, so Cooper Rush remains under center for the upcoming road contest against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Cowboys have won three in a row but heading out to play the Super Bowl champion Rams is going to be a different test. Rush has proven to be a more capable backup than many expected and has already beaten one of last year’s championship teams. This matchup, however, is on the road and the Rams present challenges.

If Dallas wants to show they’re for real, beating a title contender on the road would be the way to do it. The signs are there that the Cowboys might be better than people expected and buying QB Dak Prescott another week to recover with a win would be ideal.

Here are six things to know about the Week 5 opponent for the Cowboys.

Cowboys vs Giants: 6 things to know about Week 3 opponent

An improved offense despite the same QB play are among the 6 things @BenGrimaldi thinks all fans should know about the Giants as the Cowboys ready for their Week 3 matchup.

The Dallas Cowboys found a way to earn a victory in Week 2 with a backup quarterback leading the charge. For the second time in two years, when called upon, quarterback Cooper Rush did enough to put the Cowboys in the win column.

Now the challenge becomes whether or not he can do it again. Last year Rush didn’t have to back up his win because starting quarterback Dak Prescott came back to after a calf injury sidelined him for a week. That isn’t the case in 2022, Rush will get another start under center as Dallas prepares for their first road game against the New York Giants.

This isn’t the Giants of the last handful of years, they’re tied for first in the NFC East after winning the first two games of the season. If the Cowboys can beat their rivals on Monday Night Football, they’ll move past the Giants in the standings.  Here are six things to know about the Giants as the Cowboys get ready for their Week 3 matchup.

Five things to know about LSU’s Week 4 matchup vs. New Mexico

Here’s everything you need to know about the Lobos before they travel to face the Tigers.

LSU will face New Mexico for the first time in program history on Saturday.

This isn’t a program that Tiger fans are familiar with. The Lobos have played just 14 games against the SEC. New Mexico isn’t a G5 school often on the minds of fans that don’t follow the Mountain West, and for good reason. UNM has won just four conference games since the end of the 2016 season.

Current head coach Danny Gonzales began his tenure in 2020, and the program has been trending up. Albeit at a slow pace, but it’s progress nonetheless.

Here are five things Tigers fans need to know about the Week 4 matchup against the Lobos.
