We’re getting closer to the first set of College Football Playoff Rankings, and the Pac-12 remains the toughest conference in the country.

The Washington Huskies and Oregon Ducks battled it out for the top spot in the Pac-12, and it was one of the season’s best games. The Huskies are led by arguably the best player in the country, Michael Penix Jr., who has put the rest of the country on notice with their high-powered offense. The Huskies still have a rough schedule ahead of them.

Clemson had a bye this weekend, but their role as spoiler is becoming more prominent as the ACC is becoming a two-team race between Florida State and North Carolina. The Tar Heels will visit Death Valley on November 18, and if they are still undefeated, it will be a big game for the Tigers.

The Weekend: Week 4 Games to watch

Conference play is in full effect and its some major games on the slate this weekend.

The first month of the college football season is almost finished, and the oddsmakers have been trying to confuse bettors with strange spreads.

And this week isn’t much different.

At this point, teams are beginning their conference schedule if they haven’t already. This is where we see who can get through the gauntlet of their conference to reach the college football playoffs. Essentially, the conference schedule acts as a playoffs.

Clemson will be in a playoff game this weekend, with rival Florida State coming to town. It’s just one of a few games that will affect the college football playoffs landscape.

The Weekend: Alabama falls again, Colorado Escapes the Rocky Mount Upset

The Weekend: Alabama falls again, Colorado Escapes the Rocky Mount Upset

There was a lot of good action around the country on college campuses last weekend.

First, let’s start with Clemson returning to the AP polls. It wouldn’t be long before the voters and coaches put the Tigers back in the mix. Does a rout against Florida Atlantic make you a top-25 team? Not really, but when Florida State is coming to town, why not make the game a little more interesting with two ranked teams?

Colorado again had the College Football world in a frenzy after a comeback win against rival Colorado State, but we’re going to see if this team is real in the next two weeks. The Buffalos currently have six ranked teams on the schedule, and they have back-to-back weeks where they play two top-ten teams.

Let’s get into the rankings.

The Weekend: Games to Watch in Week 2

This week the national schedule isn’t loaded with great games but there will be some sleepers to watch for.

The first week of college football was entertaining with the Deion Sanders era in Colorado starting, Pac-12 teams gave the conference some life before the ultimate demise, and the ACC might have new leader.

This week the national schedule isn’t loaded with great games but there will be some sleepers to watch for.

For Clemson fans, the game against Charleston Southern shouldn’t be much of a concern but it is a game to pay attention too. While this game is a “tune-up”, it has to be a game where the offense finds a groove. Garrett Riley playcalling was not appealing to the eye and it seem to lack recognition of the game’s flow.

Cade Klubnik needs an opponent like this to rebuild the confidence that may have dissolved some after the Duke loss. Overall, this will be a game the offense has to show and prove inside of Death Valley.

The Weekend: Predictions for the second College Football Playoff rankings

Predicting the first second set of college football rankings after the first weekend in November.

The first weekend of November did not disappoint. Conference rivalry games had heavy implications on the college football rankings, mainly in the SEC.

Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and LSU all play a huge role in how the new rankings will look. Georgia was dominant at home against the best team in the country, proving they are still the best team in the country.

LSU knocking off Alabama somewhat assured that we could see a two-loss team in the final four come December.

And we should give thanks to the football gods for setting up the final month of college football like this. More cannibalism is on the way!

THE WEEKEND: Three teams fall out of top ten in new Kendall’s 15 rankings

In this week’s edition of “The Weekend” Kendall Hilton recaps the wild week two of College Football, and it’s many upsets.

What a fun weekend it was.

We saw a great battle in Austin, Bryce Young having his first Heisman moment of the season, but the biggest story is three teams in the AP top ten, two of them losing to unranked opponents.

Notre Dame took a horrible loss to Marshall in South Bend, the first 0-2 start since 2011, putting newly hired head coach Marcus Freeman under fire.

If you remember, in the first set of rankings last week, I said I wasn’t sold on the Bears after their big win against Albany, and look what happened…

And the worst loss goes to Texas A&M losing at home to Appalachian State. The Aggies had a lot of expectations coming into this season, and in week one, I saw a team that didn’t resemble a championship.

So who were the ones to replace the teams to drop out of the top ten, let’s find out.
