2024 5-Star WR and Texas Tech commit Micah Hudson spotted wearing Aggie gloves

Ahead of Lake Beltons’ game vs. Midlothian, 2024 5-star WR Micah Hudson (Texas Tech commit) was seen wearing Aggie gloves (eyeball emoji).

Texas A&M’s (4-3, 2-2 SEC) 2023 season has reached its midway point, and things aren’t remarkably upbeat at the moment amid the Aggies’ two-game losing streak.

While a bulk of the fan base has reached an apoplectic state with five games remaining, most of the focus is on head coach Jimbo Fisher’s impending future at the helm, a small but possibly pivotal piece of recruiting information made its way through social media on Friday night, as five-star WR Micah Hudson was seen wearing Texas A&M gloves before Lake Belton’s Friday night game vs. Midlothian.

According to Rivals, Micah Hudson is currently positioned as the 6th-ranked player in the 2024 class, the 2nd-ranked wide receiver prospect, and the 2nd-ranked player in Texas.

Hudson is just a couple of weeks removed from his OV to College Station while attending Texas A&M vs. Alabama, and even though the Aggies lost the highly anticipated matchup, Hudson reportedly came away thoroughly enjoying his campus visit, staying through Sunday while attending Aggie women’s Soccer game.

I’m, of course, not avoiding the fact that Hudson has been committed to Texas Tech since June, and yes, I agree that any recruiting momentum concerning the Aggies amid their poor play on offense this season is likely non-existent at this time, but let’s be honest, it’s not an exact science.

Furthermore, after 2025 four-star WR Drelon Miller’s de-commitment from the program earlier this week, this leaves an opening for another stellar playmaker to join an already impressive wide receiver group in 2024, including Evan Stewart, Noah Thomas, Jahdae Walker, Moose Muhammad, Micah Tease, and Raymond Cottrell.

Texas A&M loses 2024 5-Star WR to former Big 12 opponent

The fight to land 2024 5-star WR Micah Hudson has reached a conclusion, for now at least, as Texas Tech has secured his commitment.

The Micah Hudson sweepstakes have come to a close, as the 2024 five-star wide receiver committed to Texas Tech on Monday night, proving that many of the recruiting prognosticators who were indeed correct in predicting the Red Raiders to gain the best athlete the cycle has to offer.

Though Texas A&M and the Texas Longhorns were primed to make a push this summer, Hudson opted to visit Texas Tech on the same weekend he was slated to travel to College Station during the Aggies recruiting pool party on the last weekend of July. Hudson revealed to Rivals National Recruiting Analyst Cole Patterson what ultimately sealed the deal between both parties down the stretch.

“Their pitch has always just been real relationships,” Hudson told Rivals. “That’s really what it is. I don’t have to be Michael Crabtree. I don’t have to be Patrick Mahomes. I can just be me.”

Hudson is the highest-ranked player ever to commit to the Red Raiders. He brings an offensive skillset that can take a program to the next level due to his game-changing ability every time he touches the ball.

Texas A&M’s talented 2024 wide receiver class is by far one of the top collections in the cycle, and while Hudson would have been the best addition by far, give credit to Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire, who, amid an 0-2 start to the 2023 season, created a lasting connection with the Temple, Texas native.

According to Rivals, Micah Hudson is currently positioned as the 6th-ranked player in the 2024 class, the 2nd-ranked wide receiver prospect, and the 2nd-ranked player in Texas.
