Texas A&M’s (4-3, 2-2 SEC) 2023 season has reached its midway point, and things aren’t remarkably upbeat at the moment amid the Aggies’ two-game losing streak.
While a bulk of the fan base has reached an apoplectic state with five games remaining, most of the focus is on head coach Jimbo Fisher’s impending future at the helm, a small but possibly pivotal piece of recruiting information made its way through social media on Friday night, as five-star WR Micah Hudson was seen wearing Texas A&M gloves before Lake Belton’s Friday night game vs. Midlothian.
According to Rivals, Micah Hudson is currently positioned as the 6th-ranked player in the 2024 class, the 2nd-ranked wide receiver prospect, and the 2nd-ranked player in Texas.
Hudson is just a couple of weeks removed from his OV to College Station while attending Texas A&M vs. Alabama, and even though the Aggies lost the highly anticipated matchup, Hudson reportedly came away thoroughly enjoying his campus visit, staying through Sunday while attending Aggie women’s Soccer game.

I’m, of course, not avoiding the fact that Hudson has been committed to Texas Tech since June, and yes, I agree that any recruiting momentum concerning the Aggies amid their poor play on offense this season is likely non-existent at this time, but let’s be honest, it’s not an exact science.
Furthermore, after 2025 four-star WR Drelon Miller’s de-commitment from the program earlier this week, this leaves an opening for another stellar playmaker to join an already impressive wide receiver group in 2024, including Evan Stewart, Noah Thomas, Jahdae Walker, Moose Muhammad, Micah Tease, and Raymond Cottrell.
