Texas vs. Oklahoma odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Texas vs. Oklahoma odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Texas Longhorns (3-2) and the Oklahoma Sooners (3-2) meet Saturday in Dallas. Kickoff at the Cotton Bowl is scheduled for noon E.T. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Texas vs. Oklahoma odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Longhorns look for their 1st 2-game winning streak this season after beating West Virginia 38-20 last week. QB Hudson Card led the Texas offense, hitting 21-of-27 passes for 303 yards and 3 TDs. WR Xavier Worthy had 7 catches  for 119 yards and 2 TDs and RB Bijan Robinson had 21 carriers for 101 yards and a TD. This week against Oklahoma they will need to limit their penalties (7 for 65 last week) and bring the same offensive firepower.

Oklahoma is coming off a 55-24 drubbing against a ranked TCU. The Sooners never stood a chance, giving up 27 points in the first quarter and 14 in both the 2nd and 3rd. The Oklahoma defense had no answer for TCU giving up 668 total yards. They will need to make many adjustments against a strong Longhorns offense. The highlight of the Sooners’ offense was RB Jovantae Barnes who had 18 carries for 100 yards and 2 TDs.

Texas vs. Oklahoma picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas 38, Oklahoma 24

Moneyline

PASS. The -280 ML odds for Texas do not present enough return on investment to make this play worth it.

Against the spread

Take TEXAS -7 (-112).

The Longhorns offense has looked increasingly stronger each week as they’re still adjusting after losing QB Quinn Ewers in Week 1. Robinson has been a consistent anchor and will find ways to pick apart the Oklahoma defense in order to give Texas a road victory.

In their last 10 meetings, Texas is 7-3 ATS while being 5-1 ATS in their last 6 overall.

Over/Under

Lean UNDER 65.5 (-110).

With both teams being run heavy on offense, expect the clock to keep on ticking and 66 points is a lot. While Texas is certainly capable of putting up a high number, their defense should lock down the Sooners’ offense to keep the scoring low. Although these teams can traditionally put up big numbers when they face each other, this will not be one of those times.

The Under is 4-1 in Texas’ last 5 games in October and 5-5 in the last 10 meetings in this matchup.
