2024 5-star DL David Stone has announced his commitment date

2024 5-star DL David Stone, who will visit Texas A&M this weekend, has announced his upcoming August commitment date.

Ahead of what should be a very successful recruiting weekend for Texas A&M during its annual recruiting pool party, one of the more notable attendees, 2024 five-star defensive lineman David Stone Jr., has announced his official commitment date, slated for Saturday, Aug. 26, as he will choose between Miami, Florida, Oklahoma, Oregon, Michigan State, and Texas A&M.

The 2024 defensive class will be well-represented in College Station this weekend. Stone will join fellow five-star defensive lineman Aydin Breland. At the same time, Jimbo Fisher and his staff will attempt to leave lasting impressions before the Aggies’ focus completely shifts to the 2023 season.

According to 247Sports Composite, Stone is currently positioned as the 6th-ranked player in the 2024 cycle, the 2nd-ranked defensive lineman, and the 3rd-ranked player in Florida, as he is set to embark on his final senior campaign at the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Stone is the favorite to land with Oklahoma today after his recent Offical visit to the Sooners in June.

During his limited 2022 junior season, Stone recorded 25 tackles and eight tackles for loss in four games, a part of an IMG Academy defense that forced 30 turnovers and gave up just 3.0 points per game.

2025 4-star CB Deyjhon Pettaway will visit Texas A&M this weekend

It has been reported that 2025 4-star cornerback DeyJhon Pettaway will be attending Texas A&M’s recruiting pool party this weekend.

Texas A&M’s visitors’ list for this weekend’s annual recruiting pool party has grown exponentially over the past two months, as both the 2024 and 2025 recruiting cycle will be well represented with over nine to possibly ten five-star prospects making their way to College Station for one of the most important weekends as July comes to an end.

One of the more coveted 2025 prospects, four-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway announced via Twitter that he’ll be attending this weekend’s festivities as Jimbo Fisher and his staff attempt to make a dent in the 2025 cycle in the midst of making their final impressions on several key 2024 prospects, including five-star Athlete Terry Bussey, and four-star offensive lineman Blake Ivy.

Pettaway is entering his junior season at Paetow High School in Katy, Texas, the former home of his brother and current freshman linebacker Daymion Sanford, as well as freshman defensive lineman David Hicks Jr., a five-star recruit in the 2023 cycle.

Standing at 5-10 and 164 pounds, I have zero doubt that Pettaway will grow while adding healthy weight in the next two seasons, but overall, he’s already displayed the traits needed to succeed at the position once he enters the collegiate ranks. During his 2022 junior season, Pettaway recorded 26 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one interception on the year.

According to 247Sports, he is currently positioned as the 49th-ranked player in the class, the 7th-ranked cornerback, and the 4th-ranked player in Texas.

Texas A&M’s Recruiting pool party list continues to grow as several intriguing 2024 recruits will attend

Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party slated for the last weekend in July, has begun to take shape as the list continues to grow.

Texas A&M’s recruiting hot streak began in late June and hasn’t slowed since. Jimbo Fisher and his staff have added eight prospects since June 22, most recently adding five-star wide receiver Cameron Coleman, one of the most talented offensive prospects in the last three recruiting cycles.

Ranked as the No.9 class in the 2024 cycle, Texas A&M’s 16 commitments have all but solidified their future with the program, but as we know, nothing is official until the pen hits the dotted line. For bonds to be made, and relationships sustained, the Aggie’s annual recruiting pool party, slated for the last weekend of July, has already produced an impressive list.

According to 247Sports National Recruiting Director Steve Wiltfong, whose recent appearance on the site’s YouTube recruiting show revealed a litany of names sure to intrigue every Aggie fan ahead of the late July festivities. Here is the list of confirmed and potential 2024 prospects who are reportedly attending the gathering:

  • 2024 five-star Edge, Colin Simmons (No. 7 National, No. 1 Edge)
  • 2024 five-star WR Ryan Wingo (No. 26 National, No. 7 Wide receiver)

Outside of Simmons and Wingo, here is a list of potential attendees, many slight favorites to land with the Aggies:

  • 2024 five-star DL David Stone (No. 5 National, No. 2 DL)
  • 2024 four-star DL Dominick McKinley (No. 36 National, No. 5 DL)
  • 2024 five-star ATH Terry Bussey (No. 18 National, No. 2 ATH)
  • 2024 four-star OT Bennett Warren (No. 142 National, No. 8 OT)
  • 2024 four-star DL Nige Smith (No. 80 National, No. 11 DL)
  • 2024 four-star LB Tyler Singelton (No. 143 National, No. 11 LB)

With more potential names to be added, the pool party is where recruiting magic (literally) happens and look no further than how the program landed the greatest recruiting class of all time in 2022.
