Texas A&M will host the No. 1-ranked prospect in the 2026 recruiting class this weekend

2026 five-star OT Jackson Cantwell is headed to College Station this weekend

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is on track to finish as the No. 1 cycle if several prospects favored to land with the Aggies come to fruition. Among a stacked list of talented recruits, five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell sticks out the most.

Positioned as the No. 1-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, Cantwell’s elite skillset makes him an immediate starting candidate once he steps on campus, and according to the man himself, the incoming senior blocker will visit Texas A&M this weekend during the Aggies’ annual junior day.

Standing at 6-7.5 and 300 pounds, Cantwell is the starting left tackle at Nixa HS in Nixa, Missouri, and has been a varsity starter since his 2022 freshman season. Cantwell’s brute strength, elite footwork, and bulldozing run blocking make him a can’t-miss prospect with immediate starting ability as soon as he steps on campus.

According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Cantwell is excited to get back to College Station and experience everything the Aggies have to offer, from coaching to the program’s elite facilities, as he reportedly stated,

“The Aggies, they have a lot going for them.”

According to 247Sports Composite, Jackson Cantwell is currently the No. 1-ranked recruit, offensive lineman, and prospect out of Missouri.

Texas A&M is atop the program list for 2026 5-star ATH out of Holllywood (FL)

Texas A&M is a finalist to land 2025 5-star athlete Derrek Cooper

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is now the fourth-ranked cycle after the Aggies landed their 10th commitment in four-star wide receiver Madden Williams on Saturday afternoon. So far, coach Mike Elko and his staff have landed five offensive and five defensive commits.

Looking to add its first running back to the cycle, Texas A&M is now a program favorite among five other schools to land a commitment from five-star RB Derrek Cooper, one of the top athletes in Florida.

Next season, Texas A&M’s running back room is very deep, as the return of incoming senior RB Le’Veon Moss headlines a group that includes Rueben Owens and Amari Daniels, coupled with freshmen Jamarion Morrow and Deondre “Tiger” Riden.

Coopers’ talent is unquestionable. Although he is viewed as a running back for the next level, this junior athlete stands out as one of Florida’s top defensive backs. He played safety and linebacker in the 2023 season before transferring to Chaminade-Madonna Prep.

After taking an unofficial visit to College Station during A&M’s 2024 season finale loss to Texas, Cooper is a name to watch this spring/summer.

According to 247Sports, Cooper is currently positioned as the 28th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 4th-ranked athlete, and the 5th-ranked prospect in Florida.

Texas A&M has landed a commitment from 2026 4-star WR out of Bellflower (CA)

Texas A&M has landed a big time commitment from one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2026 cycle

Boom! Texas A&M has landed its second wide receiver commitment in the 2026 recruiting class, as four-star Madden Williams out of Bellflower (CA) chose the Aggies over Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, and Texas. Williams joins fellow four-star WR Aaron Gregory as the two-receiver commits.

Set to announce his collegiate destination two weeks from now, the St. John Bosco standout made his decision public several weeks earlier. Williams is coming off his most productive season yet, as the junior recorded 50 receptions, 851 yards, and 13 touchdowns for St. John Bosco, nearly doubling his 2023 receiving stats.

At 6’2″ and 185 pounds, Williams is a notable receiver who blends speed with versatile route-running. He demonstrates impressive acceleration, especially on bubble screens, and possesses strong blocking abilities in the run game.

As per Rivals, Williams holds the 102nd position among prospects in the 2026 class, ranks 14th in California, and is the 20th-ranked wide receiver prospect in the cycle.

With Williams’ commitment, Texas A&M has landed 10 commitments before the start of the new year.

Texas A&M received prediction to land 2026 4-star WR out of Bellflower (CA)

Texas A&M has received a prediction to land ascending 2026 wide receiver Madden Williams

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class comprises nine commitments, but four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory and four-star tight end Xavier Teller are the only offensive playmakers in the cycle.

However, that doesn’t mean coach Mike Elko and his staff are finished adding at both positions, as Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman became the third recruiting insider to submit his prediction for Texas A&M to land a commitment from four-star wide receiver Madden Williams out of Bellflower (CA).

Set to announce his collegiate destination sooner than later, Williams is coming off his most productive season yet, as the junior recorded 50 receptions, 851 yards, and 13 touchdowns for St. John Bosco, nearly doubling his 2023 receiving stats.

Williams stands out as a bigger receiver at 6’2″ and 185 pounds, combining speed with adaptable route-running. He exhibits remarkable acceleration, particularly on bubble screens, while showcasing strong blocking skills in the run game.

As per Rivals, Williams holds the 102nd position among prospects in the 2026 class, ranks 14th in California, and is the 20th-ranked wide receiver prospect in the cycle.

Texas A&M is a finalist to land 2026 4-star ATH out of Willis (TX)

Texas A&M is a finalist to land on one of the top Texas-based prospects in the 2026 class

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is heating up. The Aggies have landed nine commitments in the cycle, including four-star defensive lineman Jordan Carter and four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory, who announced their commitments after the Aggies’ comeback win over LSU this season.

Over the past week, coach Mike Elko and his staff have made headway with the No. 1 and 2-ranked offensive lineman in the 2026 class, while Friday’s news that four-star athlete Jermaine Bishop placed the Aggies in his top 8 program list is another dose of good news for a program on the rise.

Bishop is recognized as an athlete due to his versatility, enabling him to play cornerback or wide receiver at the next level. His speed, vision, and route-running abilities slightly resemble current Texas A&M wide receiver Terry Bussey.

Along with Texas A&M, Texas, USC, Florida, Oklahoma, Houston, Michigan, and Penn State made Bishop’s top 8 program list.

Bishop’s cousin is former star Kansas State quarterback Michael Bishop, so it’s no surprise that the younger Bishop is a potential star in the making.

During his 2024 junior season at Willis HS, Bishop reeled in 83 receptions, 1,565 yards, and 18 offensive touchdowns. Defensively, he recorded 26 tackles, three interceptions, and six pass deflections.

According to 247Sports, Bishop is the 35th-ranked prospect and the 5th-ranked athlete and player in Texas.

Texas A&M will reportedly host 2026 5-star offensive tackle next month

According to a source, Texas A&M is set to host the No. 2-ranked prospect in the 2026 class next month

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is already in solid shape heading into the new year, as coach Mike Elko and his staff have landed nine commitments amid the 2024 season, including four-star DL Jordan Carter and four-star WR Aaron Gregory.

Earlier this week, it was confirmed that the Aggies are in the running for the top-ranked player in the 2026 cycle, five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell. Additionally, On3’s Chad Simmons noted that Elko is set to host the second-ranked prospect in the class, five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, next month.

After signing six offensive linemen in the 2025 class, OL coach Adam Cushing has already made a signing impact both on the field and the recruiting trail. Hence, it’s no surprise that another top-ranked O-line prospect is considering the program.

In an interview with Simmons, Iheanacho announced that he will visit the Aggies on the second Saturday in January and the other programs he’ll see this winter/spring:

“I will be at Texas A&M on Jan. 11,” Iheanacho stated. “I have wanted to get to College Station for some time, so I am looking forward to it. It is a good school, a good program and that has been recruiting me hard, so I want to get out there… I hope to visit Oklahoma and Tennessee in January too. Maybe the weekends after I visit Texas A&M. Those are not set yet, but those are schools I am looking to visit for the first time soon.”

Ranked behind Nixa (MO) OT Jackson Cantwell, Immanuel Iheanacho is currently positioned as the 2nd-ranked prospect and offensive tackle in the class and the No. 1-ranked player in Maryland.

Texas A&M is a contender to land the No. 1-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle

Texas A&M is a clear contender for the No. 1-ranked player in the 2026 recruiting class

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is already stocked with talent as the cycle began to take shape after the Aggies’ rousing comeback win over LSU during the 2024 season, leading to landing commitments from wide receiver Aaron Gregory and defensive lineman Jordan Carter and tight end Xavier Tiller.

Similar to the Aggies’ current transfer portal class, coach Mike Elko and his staff have landed nine commitments in the 2026 class, with the most recent addition being four-star tight end Caleb Tafua, who chose the Aggies over UCLA and Alabama.

While Elko has his sights set on landing commitments from several high-ranking prospects, including four-star athlete Brandon Arrington and five-star OL/DL Lamar Brown, 247Sports’s Tom Loy reported earlier this week that the No. 1-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, is now considering Texas A&M has his next home.

“Then Texas A&M, what they have been doing on the recruiting trail under Mike Elko and Derek Miller behind the scenes, that whole staff is doing a really, really good job of connecting with guys. They are targeting the right guys. Cantwell sees a fit in College Station.”

According to Tom Loy, Ohio State, Michigan, Missouri, Oregon, and Nebraska are potential front runners as his recruitment heats up.

According to 247Sports Composite, Jackson Cantwell is currently the No. 1-ranked recruit, offensive lineman, and prospect out of Missouri.

Texas A&M is a finalist for 2026 4-star TE out of Lakewood (CA)

Texas A&M is a finalist for 2026 4-star tight end Caleb Tafua

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is now the focus after head coach Mike Elko and his staff signed 25 commitments in the 2025 cycle, including five-star offensive tackle Lamont Rogers and five-star wide receiver Jerome Myles.

So far, so good. The Aggies have secured eight commitments in the 2026 cycle and are currently ranked No. 2 in 247Sports’ recruiting rankings. While it’s unrealistic to say that Texas A&M has any momentum from the 2024 season, recruits are buying what Elko and his staff are selling.

The Aggies need to land a playmaking tight end in OC Collin Klein’s system,  and as of Thursday, Texas A&M is a finalist for 2026 four-star TE Caleb Tafua out of Lakewood, California. A&M joins Washington, USC, and Cal in his Top 4 program list.

Tafua is an up-and-comer with plenty of potential. He has strong hands and notable speed, and his multi-sport background as a volleyball and basketball player has aided his development.

Tafua stands at 6-4 and nearly 220 pounds, but once he enters a collegiate program, expect at least 20-30 more pounds to be added.

According to 247Sports, Tafua is currently ranked as the 193rd-ranked prospect, the 11th-ranked tight end, and the 26th-ranked prospect in California.

Here are the recruits set to visit during Texas A&M’s Week 14 matchup vs. Texas

Here is the current recruiting visitors list ahead of Texas A&M’s Week 14 matchup vs. Texas

No. 20 Texas A&M (8-3, 5-2 SEC) will host the No. 3 Texas Longhorns in the biggest game of the year thus far. The winner will face Georgia in the SEC Championship game on Saturday, Dec. 7.

How we got here is comical, and it is one of the reasons the 12-team playoff structure was always the right decision. A 3-loss Aggie team still has a chance to make the playoffs, while the Longhorns are likely in regardless of what happens on Saturday night.

However, nothing is guaranteed, and after a 13-year drought, one of the greatest rivalries in sports is back and better than ever, as Kyle Field is slated to be nearly sold out and the loudest it’s been all year.

This is also a big weekend for Texas A&M and coach Mike Elko recruiting-wise, as the Aggies will host a very long list of 2025, 2026, and 2027 prospects, including several commits.
