Texas A&M’s 2024 freshmen class has arrived at College Station

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class has arrived on campus!

A new era of Texas A&M football is coming to College Station, as head coach Mike Elko and his staff welcomed the the 2024 recruiting class, led by five-star athlete Terry Bussey, as all 17 young men have officially arrived on campus, as every Aggie fan should be very excited.

This offseason has seen significant strides in multiple areas, with Elko spearheading a transformation of the 2024 roster. The acquisition of nearly 30 players from the transfer portal has filled several gaps, and the secondary, on paper, appears to be a formidable strength, a stark contrast to last season’s struggles.

Concerning the 2024 freshman class, Terry Bussey’s position is still up in the air. Still, the expectation is that he will contribute on special teams as a kick/punt returner, but playing as a wide receiver or cornerback is still possible.

However, Bussey isn’t the only young player who could contribute as soon as this coming season. Edge Solomon Williams, wide receiver Izaiah Williams, and linebacker Tristan Jernigan are just a few others who have a chance to make an impact in 2024.

Texas A&M OL coach Adam Cushing recently visited 2025 4-Star OL out of Oklahoma

Texas A&M OL coach Adam Cushing recently visited one of the top offensive line prospects in the 2025 cycle

As I’ve said throughout the offseason, Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class is built in the offensive trenches. Mike Elko and his staff, specifically O-line coach Adam Cushing, have landed four offensive line prospects this offseason.

Sporting the now 7th-ranked 2025 cycle, the Aggies aren’t finished adding talent at the position. Cushing recently took a trip to Bixby, Oklahoma, to see 2025 four-star OL Broderick Shull, who has started at right tackle for most of his career at local Bixby HS.

At a towering 6-5 and 275 pounds, Shull is a force to be reckoned with on the field. His size, strength, and footwork indicate his potential to excel at the next level. A testament to his dedication, Shull’s high motor has already made him an impressive run blocker, a skill that will undoubtedly benefit the team.

Unsurprisingly, Elko and Cushing are focused on adding at the tackle position to counter what every SEC team will throw at them off the edge.

According to 247Sports, Shull is currently positioned as the 29th-ranked offensive tackle and the 9th-ranked prospect in Oklahoma.

Texas A&M freshman WR Ernest Campbell continues to dominate on the track

Texas A&M freshman wide receiver Ernest Campbell is still destroying the competition on the track

Texas A&M and head football coach Mike Elko are gaining one of the fastest athletes in the country in 2024. Three-star wide receiver Ernest Campbell, who also happens to be a star in several events in track & field, has once again conquered the competition in the 100-meter dash.

For the fourth consecutive year, Campbell has won the race in class 2A. This time, he ran a highly impressive time of 10.49, defeating the second-place finisher by .24 seconds. However, this isn’t his fastest time, as Campbell finished with a lighting-fast time of 10.22 last May and 10.32 two years ago.

Some Aggie fans may still ask if this track speed transfers to the football field, and the answer is a resounding yes. Standing at 5-8 and just over 150 pounds, Campbell is extremely light on his feet and an instant weapon in the return game. His route-running skills are still a work in progress, but there’s a lot of potential once he hits the ground running.
