Where Texas targets, commits rank in the latest 247Sports composite

Here are where Texas’ commits and top targets rank in the updated 247Sports composite.

With Rivals redoing their top 200 prospects, the 247Sports composite has been updated as well, pulling from the three major recruiting websites. Players have fluctuated through the rankings over the years but will carry these going into their season year.

Of Texas’ 17 commits, none are ranked within the top 100. Four-star safety Bryan Allen Jr. is the highest rated at No. 104. Outside of the two special team commits, recent cornerback commit Ronald Lewis round outs the class.

Plenty of five-star targets are left on the board as well.

Wide receiver Evan Stewart jumped to the No. 3 prospect in the country. Cornerback Denver Harris and Devon Campbell stayed within the top 10, while other priority front seven guys retain five-star status.

Texas trending towards 2022 four-star cornerback on 247Sports crystal ball

Issac Thompson, a four-star cornerback out of Saint Louis, has been trending towards Texas on the 247Sports crystal ball over the weekend.

Texas’ 2022 recruiting class got off to a hot start on the offensive side of the ball with five-star and No. 2 overall player Quinn Ewers and four-star wide receiver Phaizon Wilson. Now, cornerbacks coach Jay Valai is seemingly about to land another blue-chip player.

Issac Thompson, a four-star cornerback out of Saint Louis, Missouri, has been trending towards the Longhorns on the 247Sports crystal ball over the weekend. Three people have inserted picks for Texas since Sept. 11 with the confidence level of six. Sean Bock, an Iowa insider, is the most confident with a score of seven.

Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, and West Virginia are the other six Big 12 teams to offer Thompson. Top schools from the rest of the country such as Florida, LSU, Michigan, and Miami have also extended a scholarship to the cornerback.

Thompson has been open about the possibility of committing to Texas on Twitter. After Kevin Lamar Coleman Jr., another St. Louis native, received an offer from the Longhorns, Thompson tweeted out his support with a hook ’em emjoi.
