The Vols have sandwiched two blowout wins around a 41-34 loss to Pittsburgh Sept. 11. Tennessee defeated in-state FCS foe Tennessee Tech, 56-0, Saturday. The Volunteers held the Golden Eagles to 4-for-18 on third and fourth downs, and they outgained their visitors 417 yards to 179. Through three games, UT has allowed just 1.7 yards per rushing attempt (fourth FCS).

The Gators gave Alabama a scare Saturday, coming within a 2-point conversion of tying the Crimson Tide late in an eventual 31-29 loss in The Swamp. Florida allowed just 10 points in the second half of that contest. The Gators outgained the Tide 440 yards to 331.
