Texans vs. Colts: Time, TV schedule and streaming info for Week 15

The Houston Texans take on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15 at Lucas Oil Stadium. Find out how to catch the AFC South showdown.

The Indianapolis Colts (9-4) have a great shot to take command of the AFC South and improve their positioning in the AFC playoff race. All it will take is a win over the Houston Texans (4-9) and complete the series sweep for the first time since 2017.

The prospect may not be easy. Indianapolis is not known as a great first half team. If the Texans, even with their ragtag, battered, injured roster led by quarterback Deshaun Watson and defensive end J.J. Watt, can find a way to gain a lead or keep pace with the Colts and get to the fourth quarter, Houston might be able to share some of their December misery with their division rival.

Houston can’t make the playoffs; they are rendered sterile as far as that endeavor is concerned. However, delivering the Colts their fifth loss of the season complicates the playoff race. It would open things up for the Tennessee Titans to win the AFC South for the first time since 2008.

Why not rest Watson? The Texans signal caller wants to put a positive mark on 2020, as dismal as the season has been. Furthermore, it would make for a nice audition in the general manager and coaching search to see the franchise quarterback still able to produce at a high level despite him missing two of his top three receivers.

Texans vs. Bengals Week 16 moved from CBS to FOX

The Houston Texans versus Cincinnati Bengals Week 16 bout at NRG Stadium is being moved from CBS to FOX.

The NFL announced schedule changes for Weeks 15 and 16, and the Texans’ matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals on Dec. 27 at NRG Stadium will be moved from CBS to FOX.

While Texans games have been blacked out in the Houston area on CBS affiliate KHOU for AT&T U-verse and DirecTV subscribers due to the carriage rate standoff between AT&T and TEGNA, that may have not been the motivating factor. Houston versus Indianapolis in Week 15, coming up this Sunday, will stay on CBS. However, Texans fans will be able to see the game on the Texans’ mobile app.

The Chicago Bears at Jacksonville Jaguars, which was supposed to be a FOX game, goes to CBS in Week 16. The Bears are still in the playoff chase, regardless of how dismal the Jaguars are at 1-12. Similarly, Houston is 4-9 and the Bengals are 2-10-1.

In Week 10, the Texans played an all-AFC game on FOX, the NFC rights holder, when they visited the Cleveland Browns in a 10-7 loss at FirstEnergy Stadium.

NFL fans with DirecTV and U-Verse were furious they couldn’t watch Steelers-Ravens on NBC

Not ideal.

Wednesday’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens kicked off nearly a week behind schedule due to a COVID-19 outbreak among the Ravens.

And, well, those extra six days proved costly to millions of NFL fans who wanted to watch this game on television.

On Tuesday night, the 64 television stations operated by TEGNA went off air as a result of a contract dispute with Directv and AT&T’s U-Verse. These disputes aren’t uncommon with television providers, but they’re often resolved just before a marquee event to avoid calls from furious customers flooding customer service lines.

But come Wednesday afternoon, those TEGNA stations (22 are NBC affiliates in markets like Phoenix, Denver, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Charlotte, Indianapolis and Seattle) were still dark.

As you probably could have guessed, NFL fans were not pleased.

The one workaround is to watch the game on the NBC Sports app and cast it to a television.

But if this dispute continues, fans in CBS and Fox TEGNA markets would also miss football this weekend.
